This is an outstanding property well run by a professional and friendly staff. The hotel is perfectly located near the center but in a very panoramic position with breathtaking views over the ocean. The luxury rooms are gorgeous with nice balcony overlooking the ocean; they are in typical design Italian style. I was particularly struck by the wonderful roof top terrace where I had one of the best breakfasts of my entire life: local home made food, great pastries, vegetables, huge choice.... We also enjoyed some relaxing time in the garden but was not warm enough to swim in the cosy pool among roman ruins. Overall: great experience and great value, only 99,00 euros for two in a luxury boutique hotel, we were- I believe - upgraded in a Junior Suite which was just out standing. We will go back.

Constant traffic noise when door/windows were opened. Suite was not furnished to expected standard - hard bed & poor quality pillows. Bed cover & curtains appeared to be made from shower-curtain material. Taormina generally is vastly over-priced relative to the quality of restaurant food & hotel prices. We live in Tuscany, which is far less expensive & far more attractive.

This was a holiday for my husband and myself. We were most impressed by the friendly atmosphere and the excellent cuisine. We would certainly like to stay at the hotel again in the future.

It has friendly welcoming atomosphere. It is not a gorgeous, snobbish property but like a cozy manor house. It is standing at the end of the town. You have to walk up slope to the town center for ten minutes. Mount Etna can be viewed only from the rooftop terrace. If you need perfect, you should choose one in the town center with higher price.

Excellent value for money. We had booked a double room and, on arrival, were actually offered a small suite. Very conveniently located within 10 min walk to the town centre. Highly recommended.

This is a great choice if you have no mobility issues. It's a wonderful value for the money because Taormina is a very pricey area. The location is many blocks away from the main shopping/tourist Corso, but it is a scenic and uphill walk which we enjoyed for six days. There is a little problem with in room storage. There is none. No drawers or shelves to put anything anywhere. We shared eight hangers and lived out of our suitcases. Not a major problem but a nuisance. Breakfast coffee was very delicious. We'd go back there unquestionably.

We thought the hotel was wonderful. So clean, quiet and quiet, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were delightful, with every detail thought of and the view from our bedroom balcony over the sea was fantastic. The dining room had breathtaking views and the breakfast looked and tasted fabulous. The bar at the top of the tower is very atmospheric with it's colured lanterns. It is a 10 minute walk into Taormina town centre and only minutes from the bus terminal.

This hotel is justifiably near the very top of the ratings for visitors to Taormina. The room was lovely, I think with an upgrade, as we had booked a standard room and received a room with a lounge section as well as a stunning, huge bathroom and large beautiful bedroom. The staff were lovely; we very much enjoyed talking to the Australian cook who provided us with a sumptuous breakfast buffet every morning whilst we gazed at a smoking Etna from the roof terrace. Nothing was too much trouble. My laundry was returned the same day, ironed and beautifully presented and reception helped us to park our car on a local side street rather than pay the 15 euros a night garage fee. Arthur in the bar was an exellent English speaker and a wonderful fountain of local knowledge. The pool is small and deep but ideal for cooling off as sunbathing/reading was our main activity. One point: the drainage in the bath/shower was poor which meant waiting a while between showers. However, I'm nitpicking. I can think of 30 excellent things with which to counter this one, minor complaint. Youngsters would find the sedate atmosphere a little formal but us 40 somethings loved it!

Our room was beautiful, with a terrace that was surrounded by jasmine and bouganvilleas, overlooking the sea. The gardens are lovely, with quiet shady areas and great sunspots, a small but big enough pool with a poolside bar with great finger food , drinks and ice-creams . The staff at the hotel are outstanding, helpful, ever-present but never intrusive .Their recommendation for our dinner was obviously tried and tested – and wonderful, don’t miss dinner at Licchios , wonderful food, great wine and lovely atmosphere. A special thank to Mr Andrea ,the owner ; we didn’t feel that we were staying in an hotel, but that we had gone to wonderful house party with a fabulous invisible host who guided us and made sure that we got the most from our time in Taormina. His family owns also the Villa Ducale where we stayed the previous night and I can't personally say which of the two hotels is better ... we can’t wait to return.
