Hotel Andra - Seattle

My party timed our arrival for check-in at 3. The room wasn't ready. We left for 45 minutes, but the room still wasn't ready when we returned. I had to ask to switch rooms so that my party could begin our long-anticipated, carefully planned agenda. Our bags weren't waiting in our new room, despite the staff taking 15 minutes before allowing us to enter. The employee who'd taken the bags only gave us our car claim ticket, not a luggage claim ticket. finding and delivering our luggage took another 15 minutes. At this point we'd lost too much time to do our first activity of the trip. I'd spent several weeks of coordination to plan this weekend. Losing over an hour and a half put several of the attendees in a foul mood, and what was supposed to be a great, fun, easy weekend got off to a lousy start on the simplest part. After spending a great deal of time apologizing and smoothing irritated guests, I will not be recommending Hotel Andra to anyone, and will be sure to let everyone know how disappointed I was with the experience.

The only negative comment I would have is that I emailed the hotel via their email address on the website and asked if they had a shuttle service from the airport or recommendations and I received no reply. I rang Venere and had to explain that I didn't want to have to make an expensive call to the US it was then that the operator put me through to the hotel. I explained and the man gave me some information. Later I received an email from the hotel saying they had a computer problem. I have never had a 4 star hotel not return an email inquiry promptly. Didn't know what to think of the excuse. MH

Excellent upscale metropolitan hotel. Lola's Cafe on the premises and Assigio's Italian next door were both excellent. The hotel's downtown location was excellent for touring Seattle. The staff were professional and friendly. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The junior suite at the back of the building was great. Enjoyed the bar and restaurant as well. The only comment about front desk staff was when I asked about Serious Pie restaurant across the street and was told they didnt take reservations . No one offered to call the Restaurant to see how busy it was . The bartender turned out to be very helpful. I have stayed at the Andra twice and plan to do so again.

Beautifully decorated room with nice amenities and a great location for seeing downtown Seattle on foot. Some street noise in the room. The free water should be marked as complimentary so as not to be confused with the mini bar water.

We stayed 3 times at the Andra; when first arriving in Seattle from Europe, then after a trip around Washington and again after returning from an Alaskan cruise. We left a bag while in Alaska and it was waiting for us on our return. Each time we enjoyed our visit. The rooms were functional as well as attractive. We liked the big refrigerator and coffee maker and the large kitchen sink. Wonderful bed. Internet service was not provided in the room except for a fee. However we could sit in the attractive lobby and use the free wireless connection from the nice adjacent Lola restaurant where we usually ate breakfast. The hotel is convenient for shopping in the downtown area as well as the Pike Street market. Free bus service runs during the day on many streets around it. The area around the hotel is very nice during the day but changes character in the evening.

We stayed for one night...the night happened to be the start of a major festival marching right down 4th Ave. We loved, loved, loved our Big Tom's dinner at Lolas, and a.m.. breakfast there the next day. Make reservations to eat at Lolas at night.
