Restaurant outrageously priced. Great location, close to Borghesi Gardens, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and main high-street (plenty of restaurants, good bottleshop ! and other hotels).

My experience at Splendide Royal was the best I ever had at a hotel. I enjoyed the friendly staff, wonderful service and great accomodations. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a special experience in Rome.

The hotel was well located-just off via Veneto and not too far from the Spanish Steps, and moreover the junior suite we stayed in overlooked the Borghese Gardens. However, for a junior suite, there was no extra seating, so was a bit disappointed with the size. Perhaps its the European standard... The breakfast was very disappointing, but the staff at the reception were warm and accomodating, so all in all i would rate the hotel as very good, but not exceptional.

A very nice hotel indeed as I had read from other trvellers. Nice location and beatiful wievs from restaurant (which was excellent!). Only one little problem: the room did not have a wiev or balcony (deluxe room) and we did not have a bottle of spumante on arrival in our room as promised. On a honeymoon you expect everything to be perfect so a little disappointment in the beginning. But after this everything was really great!

Small but friendly hotel with limited facilities which is reflected in the price. Restaurant seemed a bit too expensive and breakfast was well below our expectations. Very small bar area not suitable for relaxing and having a drink or two after a long day of sight seeing. Very friendly staff especially chatty concierge Fabiola. Some traffic noise even on the top floors. Very good location. Justifies its 5 stars yet reasonably priced.

An outstanding property. One of our rooms was without a view (we thought both had views). Breakfast buffet is excellent and staff is outstanding. We thought the ristorante (which may be separately managed) was misleading and extremely overpriced. Misleading because the menu made no mention of service charge and waiters whispered that service should be in cash at the table.....this is sleazy by any standard and certainly should Never occur in a top rated establishment.

The suite was very nice, sitting area was small, no room for a couch, bedroom was small but had a nice private area. Nothing really to complain about except we don't think we got 700.00/night worth of room. (if the room was 400-450 a night we would have been very, very happy) Staff was exceptional, perfectly located in town, we enjoyed our stay.

The perfect place to stay in Rome for a weekend with your loved one. Spacious rooms, clean, very cosy. Very clean bathroom, nice view on the park and excellent service. Breakfeast with a view over Rome. In case of a guide, provided for by the hotel, who did not deliver, no costs were charged by the hotel. No experience with the restaurant there.

Wonderful property, wonderful front desk/concierge staff - very welcoming, sophisticated and hospitable. Likewise the room was elegant and comfortable, good value for the price. Can't say the same for the rooftop restaurant - snotty staff, stingy pours on overpriced drinks, but awesome view...hard to judge whether the awesome view made it worth putting up with the former issues....We would definitely stay here again next time in Rome - great location between Spanish Steps and Via Veneto - (would just stay away from their restaurant!) A somewhat hidden treasure - would rate it better than the Hassler.

This is a small and quiet hotel just off Via Veneto where you can relax and enjoy the views of the borghese gardens. The rooftop restaurant is worth a visit. The food is nothing out of the ordinary and is quite expensive! no wonder it is never full.

The place is very nice and near to the elegant and good things in Rome. The only problem was that we have an internal room without view. With this price it is a pity not to have the nice view of the Villa Borghese. Don’t miss the view from the restaurant and don’t miss breakfast because they close the place at 10:30 a.m. punctually. And also I forgot some items in the room and they don’t send to me rapidly.

One of the finest hotels I've ever been to. the restaurant on the 7th floor has a breathtaking view of the city. the room was spacious, with very big bathroom. only downside: service at the bar/restaurant in the evening when it gets busy is a bit chaotic. but otherwise, excellent hotel.

The hotel is located in a good area, closed to the historic centre. Design & furnitures are perfect for a romantic holiday. Try Mirabelle restuarant at the seventh floor for an unforgettable dinner!

What a fantastic time we had at Hotel Splendid Royal. The staff was the most proffessional and attentive we have encountered. Our short stay in Rome was made positivly the most memorable in a long time and many trips to Rome. Resturaunt and people who served us were beyond excellent just a top knotch meal with the best hospitalty and service you hope for. Hoorah and thanks a million for the time we had.

On your question of "Competence of Employees", I found 99% should be marked down as "Excellent." However, one Conciege (whom I'm assuming was filling in for the Head Concierge that day) when I asked him to confirm an address for a certain restaurant, had no clue what I was talking about. It wasn't language related, as he repeated exactly what I said. I had to go upstairs, get the printed information and go back to the desk and show him in print what I was referring to, as he told me there was no such restaurant. Then he still had trouble finding the restaurant. The Head Concierge on the other hand was brilliant and extremely competant. In spite of this one person I would definitely go back to this hotel. My only other criticism is that I would perfer lighter fabrics in the rooms (ex. bedspreads) as the dark colors make the rooms look too dark. Again, even with these 2 issues, I loved the Hotel and the Staff. My wife & I really felt the Staff made us fell at home. In large hotels you feel invisable. At the Splendide Royal, a small Hotel, they get to know their guests. Also the Hotel Restaurant, Mirabelle is sensational.

When we arrived to the hotel, one of the room was solded out to someone else because the i wrote expiry date of card instead of CADUCITY, so 2 of us had to sleep in a different hotel, and it was too late at night. WE HAD TO GO TO ONE CLOSE AND NOT GOOD AT ALL. THEY SHOULD NEVER CONFIRM IT, or should have phone us as we gave them the telephone. It was just a mistake. The window door at the room was so dirty that we couldnt see trough it. Also breakfast was not as for 5 star lux. hotel.

The room and view were wonderful. However, the morning manager took advantage of us twice. The first morning we requested to cash traveler's cheques..he quoted us a 5% service fee, but then only gave us 80 Euros to the dollar when the exchange was 91 Euros to the dollar. The second morning he charged us 42 Euro a day for parking...when we checked in we were told this was compliments of the hotel. He also said this had to be paid in cash, not on our credit card (suspicious). He was also VERY rude!

A Beautiful Hotel right between Via Veneto and Piazza di Spagna. Rooms are terrific and a high floor with a terrace should be requested at time of booking. The roof top restaurant is exceptional, both the food and service equaled the incredible view. The only negative was inconsistent room service, and a poor concierge.
