Arrived at 4pm after a very long drive to be told that our room wasn't ready. The published check in-time was 2pm. I was told I could wait and have some coffee. I went into the garden and waited 20 minutes before I got the waiter's attention to order coffee. I requested to see the manager as well. I complained to the manager that for a 5 star hotel the room not being ready over two hours was completely unacceptable. I also complained that no compensation was offered for this and she said coffee would be on the house! I feel that a complementary breakfast or voucher towards dinner would have been the least that could have been offered. A disappointing stay I'm afraid.
