The room was spacious, over two floors, but the living area was quite dark and the couch did not look too inviting. The bedroom was also dark as the window also looked out into a narrow space, but we did not spend so much time in our room, it was not so important. The pool area was quite small, maybe a few more loungers would be good, on one afternoon some guests had to put their towels directly on the ground, not too comfortable! The reception, breakfast room fine, friendly staff. Location just a bit far out for me, on other visits we have stayed on the Ramblas, but this time we wanted a pool and chose the Gran Derby as it offered a better price than hotels with pools directly in the centre.

The Gran Derby offers 4 star luxury and comfort in each of its contemporary accommodations.The Duplex is a fully soundproof and spacious bi-level guestroom with separate sleeping and living areas. Features include Catalan artwork by Dalí, Picasso, Tàpies, Miró, Guinovart and Brossa, satellite TV and Canal+ channels, Wi-Fi Internet access, stereo, safe, air conditioning/heating and minibar.
In addition to all the standard features of the Duplex, the Gran Derby Junior Suite provides plenty of natural light and lovely views of the interior garden and swimming pool (availble in most rooms).
