This historic Viareggio hotel has recently undergone a complete renovation to give it a brand-new, contemporary feel. The property has areas dedicated to health and well-being; a spa offers massage, body and beauty treatments (reservations are required).
On-site amenities include a bar, a rooftop terrace and restaurant with views of the sea. A wellness center offers a gym, sauna, and indoor pool. Additionally, there are 3 fully-appointed meeting rooms, with wireless Internet access provided for a surcharge in the business center and public areas.
Pets (dogs and cats only) are accepted.

I look forward to staying in the Hotel Astor again soon I found everybody wanted to please and make sure that I had a pleasant stay with minimum fuss and bother. The pool and spa area excellent and the room service lunch prepared by the maitre d'hote for me and my guest of seafood salad was mouthwatering Thank you to everyone who made my stay so pleasant.

The Astor was a very nice hotel albeit slightly overpriced. We did not like the fact that guests could keep pets as there was someone on the same corridor with a very noisy dog staying at the same time as us. Also we did not like the fact that you have to pay each day to take a chair on the beach as this is hotel is advertised as having it's own private beach across the road available for guests. The standard of the rooms was very good and the fact they had safes in the rooms was very convenient. Some renovation was going on but we knew about that before travelling.

I guess it is never a very good idea to visit Viareggio in high season. Hordes of tourists wearing down on the local infrastructure. - We could have been treated somewhat more friendly, but there isn't really anything un-satisfying that I could point too.

The Astor Hotel which was on the beach road was very noisy and the rooms small. Although a clean and tidy hotel we did not enjoy our stay here and thought that the rooms were very expensive for what they were. Would not stay here again

Room Details
The hotel offers 77 comfortable single and double rooms, junior suites and suites. Many rooms offer sea views, and all offer warm, relaxing atmospheres. Rooms range in size from 20 to 45 square meters.
Rooms feature private bathrooms with hair dryers, bathrobes, slippers, and bathroom scales. Rooms are equipped with individually-controlled air conditioning, TVs with satellite and pay TV service, minibars, safes, and direct-dial telephones. Wireless Internet access is available for an additional charge.
Suites have private fax machines and panoramic views over the splendid sea promenade. For small groups and families, the classic double rooms located in an adjacent 3-story building (without lift) feature living areas. Rollaway beds can be added upon request.
