Adequate but certainly not 5star. Service could be better. Poor value, even considering location.

Hotel Bernini Bristol is in an excellent location in the centre of Rome very close to all the historic attractions and the metro for accessing other areas of Rome. Had an excellent couple of days stay, staff very friendly and helpful. Spa was a little disappointing, sauna was broken on one day. I thought the price was very competitive compared to other hotels in Rome, although would question rating as 5 Star Luxury.

We booked into this as a treat knowing that we would be on the road for 16 hours before arriving in Rome. The hotel was another world as far as we were concerned. Even in our dishevelled and slightly grungy state, we were treated with the utmost courtesy and our room had been upgraded to a Junior Suite which was palatial to say the least. The room service was pricey but worth it. I long for the time when I have the excuse to have this little bit of heaven on earth again.

This hotel is in a wonderful location and sits right on Piazza Barberini, only a short walk away from some great Roman treasures such as the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. The metro is a few feet from the hotel, taxi's are always parked outside. It was a really lovely hotel, the room was spacious and overlooked the piazza. The bath in our ensuite also had a jacuzzi, which was quite fun. There was no iron though, which for a 5 star hotel I thought was quite odd. The staff were helpful and always had an answer for our questions. THe breakfast is really expensive at the hotel so we just had croissants at a breakfast/bar round the corner. We found a really fab restaurant as well called Historia Romana on Via del Boccaccio, they are such good fun in there, you'll have a really good time!!

A group of 4 of us stayed at the Bernini on the night of April 15th. We also had a guaranteed reservation to stay the night of April 23rd. I had informed the front desk on 2 different occasions that we would be a very late check in on that night, even informing them that we would be arriving as late as midnight. When we arrived back in Rome at the Bernini on the 23rd at 11.45p.m. we were told that there were no rooms available to us. We were treated very rudely by the night staff on duty and were left to fend for ourselves to find 3 rooms in Rome at that time of night. VERY dissapointing service from such a prestigious hotel to say the least. Although our first stay there a week earlier had been very pleasant, I was dismayed that such a prestigious hotel would cancel my reservation when it had already been guaranteed with my credit card.

really lived up to expectations of distinguished 5 star hotel with real sense of history. ony dissappointment was scaffolding surrounding the hotel for renovation. Didnt add much to the view from the bedroom window or appearance of the hotel but I guess the work has to be done sometime and we were just unlucky. Roof terrace has superb views across the city and public areas are really impressive if you need somewhere for a special occassion or just to stay you have stayed in the same hotel as Aristotle Onnasis, Countesses from Russia etc its a must.
