The apartments are elegant, spacious and ideally positioned between San Marco and Rialto. It was nice to have the option to either dine in or dine out. There is a fairly priced supermarket just around the corner.

The apartment was in a good location and was clean and nice. There were two major problems. Even after calling in advance we had to wait for 40 minutes for someone to show up with keys. The person answering the phone does not understand English and emails are answered after 5-6 days. Second I had asked for two double rooms, no sofabeds and an email confirmed that. The second ebdroom turned out to be a joke with two pullout beds squeezed into a tiny room with no space for anything else. for 4 people this was inconvenient.

The only slight hitch was that we reserved the room through Venere.com using a VISA card and that apartment folks accepted only Mastercard. We paid in cash after a trip to the bancomat but it could be an issue for longer stays.

You must pre-arrange to be met, otherwise your faced with a locked door and no reception. The cleaner that met us in the end, was lovely but her english was as bad as my italian, making discussions about check out times and how to pay (cash only) good sport. A long flight of stairs (no lift) and a pull out bed make this not the 5 star that advertising would suggest. However well located and a very kind cleaner, help to make up for the relaxed management style.

Everything was fine, except a mishap at the arrival : I didn't received any confirmation (other than than the Venere site) and when I tried to call the number a few days before , it had been momentarily cancelled (a few days? but restored on the night we landed). An e-mail was also not replied to. Since there is no staff permanently on site, it lacks indications on what to do when we arrive in Venitia. The rest was perfect.

From the highway, follow the indications to Piazzale Roma or Tronchetto, where you can park your car. From Piazzale Roma, take vaporetto line 1 or 82 and get off at the San Marco stop.
By train
From the Santa Lucia railway station, take vaporetto line 1 or 82 and get off at the San Marco stop.
By airplane
The airport is located about 45 minutes from the hotel. From Venezia-Marco Polo airport, either take a bus to Piazzale Roma and then follow the aforementioned indications, or take the Alilaguna shuttle to Piazza San Marco stop and proceed on foot.
