Serviced Apartment Villaggio Verde - Sorrento

My husband and I stayed at Villagio Verde for our anniversary. Teresa and her family were really helpful and even offered to drive us into Piazza Tasso when we needed to. My husband had had an ankle operation prior to our holiday and had we known how far away the accommodation was from the centre we would have booked elsewhere. However our room was clean and comfortable and we were well looked after. Disappointed that they charge €8-€10 for a lounger at the pool and be prepared for a uphill walk of 15 minutes when a lift isn't available.

The cabins were private, clean and equipped with dishes, a stove and a coffee machine. The best part of Villagio Verde though is the staff. They were the best! Ferdinando and Genaro were excellent and made the trip for us. We came as tourists and left as friends. Villagio Verde is also in a great location. You can walk to the city center or the train station in a few minutes. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Sorrento.

Villaggio Verde is a peaceful escape from the bustle of Sorrento, but only 15 to 20 minutes walk from town (uphill on the way back to the hotel). The pool area is very well kept with comfortable poolside furniture (with surcharge) and the overall atmosphere is calm and tranquil. A good place to stay if you want to balance a bit of poolside relaxation (and get a good night's sleep) with seeing Sorrento and going to on day trips in the region. The only downside was that our bedroom was quite small - the cabin would have been cramped if we had a third occupant with us in the single bed - and the bathroom had seen better days. The shower was like standing under a heavy hosepipe, albeit nice and hot! Breakfast was fine (for Italian standards) - the fruit was tinned but the bread rolls and pastries were lovely and fresh.

The idea of separate bungalows w/ individual outdoor areas was very nice. The property was very pretty and rustic w/ grape vines and lots of vegetation. The problems that we had with the room were: The room had a strong stale smoke smell, and there was a lot of out door noise. We were near the entrance and there were constantly scooters and motorcycles going by. Our second morning a maintenence person fired up a compressor right outside our door and proceeded to do some kind of work next to our bungalow. The distance from town wasn't bad, however it was down a hilly winding road with a lot of traffic and only about 15" of space to walk. We only did it one time.

Overall, it was ok..the staff were very friendly & helpful. The rooms were very basic, and could do with a good clean & renovation. The pool area was well managed & maintained. This is a very good place for families.

Staff were in general very welcoming apart from a young man with good English, who was quite offhand. It is called a B&B, but breakfast was not included. On the bill the breakfast was included in the price, when I queried this the person at the counter just muttered and would not respond.

had a great stay at Villagio Verde while in Sorrento in May. Overall, it was a great value and we enjoyed our stay. It was a bit of a hike off the main road to get to each night, but worth it for the price. Also, it is more of a motor lodge than a hotel, so has a quaint, woodsy, feel - especially with all the lemon and orange trees hanging about the property. We would return to this place on a future visit.
