The in-room mini kitchen was nice to have, but we did not know about it before hand and therefore weren't able to take advantage. However, the kitchens are not well stocked with basics-dish soap, dish towel, can opener, etc. One of our rooms (we had two) had no silverware. Also felt that 12Euro was much to expensive for the breakfast provided, and would have done things differently if we had known about the kitchen. But overall, I would highly recommend Villa Pitiana for anyone needing a quiet getaway.

Villa Pitiana is in a lovely location, but is clearly a self-rated four-star. If it were rated as a two-star we would have been delighted, but the four-star rating led to unrealistic expectations in terms of quality of service, furnishings, bathroom amenities, etc. In addition, it is poorly signposted, and the GPS coordinates do not lead one directly to their front door. In some ways it reminded me of Eastern Block hotels a couple of decades ago: karaoke singers for entertainment, and "you can have anything you like on the menu so long as it's pasta."

Excellent hotel type(mini castle), with excellent quality services. In house restaurant was excellent, with top-notch food . The hotel location is a bit out of the way, up the hill!!

Hotel is difficult to find and needs more helpful map information. Room prices and availability did not match what was offered through venere.com, but that didn't appear to be the hotel's fault, and they gave us a second room free of charge. In all other respects this is a terrific place and highly recommended. Worth asking for a room on the front, since the views of the Tuscan countryside are superb.

A very spacious, delightful hotel in a very picturesque location overlooking Donnini. A great location with very beautiful, abundant grounds. The staff were friendly & helpful. The included breakfast had numerous & healthy options. Our room was very large & pleasant: only drawbacks - stairs to loft bedroom were steep/narrow and carpet was stained (clean, but visually unattractive); however, bathroom was very spacious and view from modest windows breathtaking. Definitely, the nicest stop on our trip!

A magnificent place to stay. Architecturally stunning. However, the worst food per dollar we had in our entire trip to Italy. Dinner was 4 times more than we spent anywhere else and was by far the worst. There isn't anywhere else to eat near by.
