Serviced Apartment Melantrich Residence - Prague

We had booked in Melantrich residence, when we went to the address given at the website (venere.com) we were told the Melantrich was shifted a few blocks down the road. The place we were sent to was called Jep apartments. We dont know whether the two were the same, or we were getting what we paid for. Also this should have been communicated to us by the hotel before hand, so that we could have taken our taxi there, rather than walk with our luggage. Throughout the stay of 4 days, there were groups of drunk guys shouting and screaming in the corridors and their rooms from 4 am to 8 am approx, not allowing us to sleep. In the morning the corridor and the lift would be really dirty.

Location was great - opened onto Wencelas Square, central to most everything and within walking distance to all tourist attractions. Not all of the rooms have a washing machine, when asked I was given permission to use a washing machine in a different apartment while they were cleaning it. I would have packed differently if I had known I would not have easy access to one. The apartment was clean but not spotless. Dirt in the corners and items were well used. Our room was directly beside the stairwell which echoed as people entered/exited the building which proved to be noisy at night. No shower curtain in our apt. which made showers a challenge and cold, since you could not block off the air while wet. Address given in reservation was not the same when we arrived. We were 2 blocks up on the same street. If luggage had been lost at airport, I don't know how we would have gotten it back. We completely unpapcked the first night only to find out the next morning we had to move. We should have been told about this the first night, not to mention the incovenience of having to be back at the apt. at a specific time to move. Not all apartments are furnished with the same items, some have better cooking pots than others, some have washing machines (but no dryers), some have kitchen towels and shower curtains, DVD players, etc., while others don't. My comparisons are from the 3 apartments I was in. I emailed the apartment management many times prior to the start of my vacation to ask about details regarding the apartment, but they never responded. I feel the website is misleading because not all of the rooms are as described. The website should give more details describing the room you are renting and not just a generic description. We never did see the exercise/gym facility listed on the website. There are so many apartments around to rent, if I go back, I will try somewhere else, but around the same proximity. The location really was great.

When arrived at Melantrich, the hotel man told me, please go to 48's apartment i/o 36. The apartment was JEP APARTMENT i/o Melantrich The manager said, there is no available room for you but we offer bigger room with the same price for only 3 nights. It was suits for 6 people. But the last one night I had to move to another hotel. I asked the manager to look for another apartment with Kitchen but he could'nt find. I was oblized to stay the hotel w/o kitchen and refrig. It was terrible, I don't want to stay there in Praguem definately. I met a lot of tourists there which no room, no reservation. Even though I reserved Melantrich, I couldn't stay at Melantrich residence. You definately should research them and please feed back me.

Had booked 2 apartments at Melantrich, Vencelas namesti 36. The guy in the reception was really impolite. Send us to another adress, nr 48 and a different hotel. And our 2 one-room-apartments had then been one three-room-apartment...VERY VERY BAD. We had booked 2 apartments because the married couple wanted to be by thereselves. The furniture was broken, the rooms was a little bit dirty and there was not porcelain to everyone. NO MORE Venenere if I dont can trust my booking.

When we arrived at the hotel, even though we had reservation, we were told that we had to go to a different place, JEP Hotel. I don't know about Melantrich Residence, but the room at JEP was awful! The linens were stained, the cabinets in the closet were broken, stench coming from bathroom cabinets was unbearable, and we saw nasty-looking bugs in the bathroom!! The only pluses of this place were it's great location, and it's very helpful and friendly staff.

El Melantrich está situado en el corazón mismo de Plaza Wenceslao, lo que lo hace muy cómodo para acceder a pie a casi todos los lugares atractivos de Praga. Sin embargo, la reserva del apart incluia servicio de conexión wi-fi en las habitaciones y esto no fue así. No había servicio de mucamas y un detalle más : los enormes ventanales de las habitaciones no tienen cortinados, por lo que dormir un poco más por las mañanas fue una misión imposible!!!!

ROOM WAS MISREPRESENTED ON WEBSITE. Went to address indicated, found out apartment management was CHANGED and OFF SITE. Had to go to ANOTHER LOCATION, further out from Old Town Square, and the apartment was NOT READY and VERY VERY SMALL. Unbelievable that had to pay 9000 crowns for 3 people to stay in a very small low quality apartment for 3 nights!!! Heating was not controllable inside and very hot. Did not even have a microwave, or proper cooking utensils except a few pans. Had toaster and a few hot plates, only one of which worked. Had only two sets of cutlery which we had to use to cook with. Smaller than usual bar fridge. Towels not changed, room never cleaned during stay. Received one set of keys only. Management was in small shop located downstairs, not manned 24 hours at all. Nice enough but definitely not professionals. ROOM DEFINITELY NOT LIKE PICTURES AT ALL. No notification whatsoever of change of location/apartments!!!! Will never book with venere.com again.
