We would definitely recommend Residence Hilda to families staying in Florence. The room was a perfect size for four of us and we even had a door to the master bedroom, so we had some privacy. The kitchen was just right. The location was convenient, while not in the middle of tourist craziness. We really appreciated the laundromat right across the street, as we had already been in Italy for a week. The staff was more than helpful, getting us tickets to the Uffizi and L'Accademia. When I offered a tip in appreciation, they refused, saying "that's just what we do". Not for those who are looking for a full service, high end hotel. Perfect for families who want to feel like they are living in an apartment in Florence.

We had a wonderful stay at Residence Hilda. We traveled with an 18 month old child and a 13 year old, and the accommodations at RH were perfect for our needs. Having a kitchen to prepare meals for our young son was incredibly convenient, especially since most Florence restaurants don't open for dinner until 7 or 7:30 PM. The staff stocked our fridge with milk upon request at no charge, and also provided a high chair and a crib at no extra charge. They even provided a small teddy bear in the crib, which was a nice touch. The apartment felt spacious and open. The location was perfect for our needs, very close to the Academia and the Duomo. There is a small market down the street for groceries or travel necessities, and a couple of cafes nearby, one that serves American breakfast and one next door that has pastries and good coffee. The only downside is that the units facing the street, as ours was, are exposed to loud people returning from bars late at night. The soundproofing was actually quite good otherwise, as we never heard any of the other people in the residence, although I saw many people come and go. Also, there is free wireless internet access, but the access code provided is only good for an hour at a time, after which you have to re-enter the code again. But the wireless worked flawlessly otherwise.

Impossible to find the Hotel. They need a realistic detailed map to the place. I parked the car and walked the streets of Ferenze for an hour before stumbling onto its location. They did not explain the parking situation at all. The parking costs 15 EUR a day in an alley near the Hotel.

We had the 4 person suite and just felt really relaxed here. Nice beds, great space. This is not a 2 BR space as we think of it--it is more open than that. One twin bed is immediately adjacent to the king BR with a sliding divider and the other twin is basically in the kitchen area. But it all works, our kids liked it, and we had more space than anywhere else we stayed in Italy. There is every convenience in the immediate area. This was the halfway point in our trip and we used the excellent laundromat immediately across the street. Also in the area is a little gelato/pastry/panini shop that we went to several times, plus a nice mini grocery store a block away, where we bought everything to make three wonderful "home-cooked" Italian meals. The staff are warm and very helpful, e.g., they recommmended an excellent restaurant, our favorite of our whole trip. You can see a slice of the Dome at the end of the street. Walking 3 blocks to the Dome is a wow experience.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE". In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in: the suites are available from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. Our reception is open from Monday to Saturday between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. For arrivals on Sundays or during our closing hours, please contact the reception in advance.
Check-out: it is necessary to leave the suites not later than 11 a.m.
