We were very impressed by this hotel, its distribution and location were great. Not in the town center but close enough to walk. Excellent breakfast buffet. We had dinner once, and the food was very good. We are ready to go back!

The El Greco is located just outside of Fira which makes it extremely convenient. Parking is plentiful, which is not true for many other Santorini hotels. There is a shower room available off of the lobby for guests who are checking out, but not leaving the island until the end of the day. This was most convenient. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

The El Greco is a lovely hotel with very nicely kept grounds and rooms. The pools are large and well maintained, and the hotel is beatifully done. The only downside is the hotel's location, which is a few hundred meters south of the town of Fira. The walk to town is quick enough, but unfortunately you must follow a very busy main road with no sidewalk on portions of the walk. In addition, the walk from the hotel overlooks an abandoned strip mine, complete with an ugly abandoned building, old tires and litter. When the wind kicks up (which is not infrequent), the dust and pumice from the mine are a bit of a bother during the walk to town. For our short stay, this did not deter from our enjoyment of the hotel or of the island, but be aware of the location if you're looking for that famous caldera view from your hotel room. Particularly for families or for those who want to stretch out at their hotel, the El Greco is still a wonderful choice since the pools are great and the rooms are very large. The on-site restaurant and bar are nice additions for those who want to spend time lounging by the pool. The view to the east from the hotel grounds also offers a nice panaroma of the sea--but not on the caldera side. The staff were very accommodating, and we enjoyed some quiet after we requested a room away from the busy main road. We were quite satisfied with our stay and were very happy with the value for our money, but next time we might choose a caldera view.

Probably the best situated hotel on Santorini - only a 5min walk to town and supermarkets but far enough away to be peaceful. The breakfast was really excellent - everything you could think of! The pool was extremely clean, even after a 'dirt storm' blew in for 24hours. Facilities all very new. Highly recommended. It is a beautiful hotel and we really enjoyed our stay.

El Greco is conveniently located close to Fira but the surroundings are not very nice (view on a land under construction from our room). The comfort in our room was minimum and the room itself was pretty small. I would quote El Greco a 3 star hotel not for sure a 4 star. Overall, this is a very good place to stay in Fira. It is located just outside the town and so it is relatively quiet, but it is easily within walking distance.

We stayed at El Greco in October 2004, which is low season, so the hotel was very quiet and consequently some facilities not open, eg pool bar. however we thought this was reasonable given the level of guests. We were very well greated, and even though 2 hours before check-in time, we were not only able to get into our room, but we were upgraded to the honeymoon suite, which was a great. the room itslef was still quite basic, however adequate and spacious and clean. we had a large roof terrace as well. Only complaint would be proximity to the road, which was very busy, however as we live in London on a main road, it didn't bither us at all, but may bother other people, (who always comment on how noisy where we live is). Value for money this hotel wa excellent, and we would definitely recommend it to someone else. The staff were very friedly and helpful, offering help with car hire, and recommending restaurants. we also thought that some of the hotel photos do not do it justice, as the whole place is really nice, and the two pools were really good and large compared to most on the island. (only one is shown on the website). We look forward to going back soon.

Great place, located close to Fira.. Front desk took care of moped rentals, etc. Worked out well. Pricey but worth it for a good sunset.

Just off the beaten path near Fira. Very spacious rooms and recently constructed facility. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was plentiful with a great variety of warm items. Centrally located to visit the sites on the island. Two pools and a jacuzzi were available.
