The Opera Residence offers serviced apartments in the city center of Budapest. It is located just a few walking minutes from the Opera House, and from tourist attractions, such as Andrássy Avenue that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Váci Street, and the Academy of Music. A multitude of theaters, museums, exclusive bars, and restaurants, as well as entertainment venues are only a stone's throw from the accommodation.
These serviced apartments right behind the State Opera House, are located just a few steps from the Hungarian capital's best pubs and night life, Liszt Ferenc Ter and Nagymező utca. Lovely stay - the apartment overlooks a pretty courtyard garden. An initial plumbing problem was fixed amazingly quickly: I wish the plumbers in Australia would be as speedy! Only minor complaints prevented a top score: only two medium sized towels and no bath-mat; no towel rack in the bathroom; and no clothes pegs. The staff at the hostel downstairs are very friendly and helpful. The area is very nice and there are lots of little restaurants and cafes within walking distance.

After travelling for several weeks around Europe, this was an ideal place to reorganise for the final part of our vacation. It had all the facilities that we needed which we could use to suit our needs and timetable. The young staff were very helpful and there are various places to eat or to provide for self catering in the immediate vicinity. It is convenient for visiting the main tourist sites and particularly for going to the Opera House which is an experience that should not be missed.

The positives: great location in the Opera district, very helpful and friendly staff, manager willing to negotiate and compromise when we complained. The negatives: the cleaner had not taken out sheets from the washing machine, nor the mop from the toilet. This resulted in a disgusting smell through the flat. The dishwasher and general cleanliness of the rest of the flat was poor. Eventually the manager did sort the situation out and got our clothes washed so there was some compromising which was good to see.
