The hotel is almost new. It is in an out of the way area, hard to find. Unfortunately, even though it appeared we were the only visitors this particular night, the fellow on duty had not checked that our room was 1. clean, 2. aired, 3. had hot water. When he opened the room for us, it smelled musty, unpleasant. There were insect carcasses and dust on the floor, which I swept up with a broom. We left for an afternoon of sightseeing and when we got back to the hotel that night, discovered our hot water system was not working and consequently could not have a warm shower. As the reception clerk had gone home for the day, there was nothing for us to do. The female clerk on duty next morning gave us the key to a room opposite and we were able to shower, but the experience was unpleasant and we were given an apology but not offered any compensation.
