Annecy is buetiful and the Residance is in a central location which I would recomend, evrrything that we needed was in walking distance.The two rooms that I booked were clean on arrival. The service was very poor.Although the reception staff do speak english and we could speak some french, there was no welcome, no one took us to our room to show us how things worked ( airconditioner, hob, open out the beds).There was no such information in the studio flats and non avaliable when asked for from reception or on cleaning facilities .The worst problem was that it was not clear from the website that the rooms were self service in cleaning or that an option for daily cleaning avalible.I was informed by the receptionest on arrival that my rooms were(cheaper)! and no cleaning would be offered. That didnt corrispond with the 4* statuse of the residance.We had to take out all refuse ourselves and ask for clean towels every time we needed them. there was no means of cleaning the floor in the flat and the cleaners didnt come in and vacume for a week. The 2nd flat had a dustpan and brush. It would have been much easer if this information was avaliable on arrival.On one accasion we went to ask the staff at the desk at 9pm beliving that the office closed at 10pm to be told ( it is the end of my shift you will have to wait). On Departure we waited early morning for the staff to hand back the swip card ( to catch our flight). There was no farewell and we were told we didnt have to wait we could have left them in our rooms. I would not return to this property with the same managment in place.Also your web site was not clear about rooms and beds.All beds are a sofa bed.No singles beds avaliable.

beautiful town and the hotel is an ideal place for a short stay - clean, comfortable and simple accomodation. very friendly and helpful staff. highly recommended

We very much enjoyed our stay here. The staff were excellent and so helpful. The location is brilliant. We rented a car spot and it was a great facility as parking is quite difficult in Annecy. Would also recommend Clos Des Sens restaurant if you have some cash to splash. My only small small point is for such a beautiful old building the interior design of the rooms is too modern - but I suppose thats what a lot of people look for.

The staff at Residence Le Royal was helpful and wonderfully pleasant. The location is ideal - close to the station (we were traveling by train), restaurants, the lake, and the castle. Our little one bedroom "apartment" was updated and airy, the sofa bed comfortable (our daughters ages 10 and 13 shared), and the kitchenette very handy. I'd return in a heartbeat as would the rest of my family.

Hotel of good standard in excellent location right on the edge of the historical town, walking distance to the lake. Parking available (at extra cost). Recently decorated, modern furniture. Very functional/minimal, my first impression was that the 4 star rating for the hotel may be slightly overdone, but having stayed there for 5 nights I take this remark back. We stayed as 3 adults and the suite where we stayed provided sufficient space. The suite consists of a lounge (which also has cooking facilities) with a sofa that extends to become a (comfortable) bed for two - and a double bedroom. The room was quiet, well insulated from the road outside (where the traffic died out at night anyway). The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The residence is a small apartment building with contemporary rooms, kitchen area and free WiFi. Location is wonderful in the middle of the old city. Parking is extra and required if you have a car. If you are driving, you need good directions as the one-way system is impossible to navigate.
