Sercotel Ciudad de Oviedo - Oviedo

Close to old town area but was bit noisy. We drove and it was very difficult to locate the hotel. Need better map or driving direction. Parking is very small and some spot were difficult to park. Poor facility compare to other 4 star hotels we stayed.

The hotel is in the middle of town, and is a comfortable and convenient base for all sights and restuarants. The downside is that there is a fair amount of noise throughout the night either from neighbouring bars or street cleaners. Not a place to stay if you want to sleep with the windows open.

Wonderful place. We loved the location, the breakfast, and our room. The best sleeping during our 2 weeks in Spain! We did have trouble finding it...maybe more street signs to direct drivers. The other hotels had more signs up. But in any case, just a super super hotel!

Excellent location on Calle de Sidra (OK, Gascona} but still a quiet room, several floors above the busy street. If I was returning to Oviedo I would look no further.

After asking for a Non-Smoking room and being told it would only be allocated, if available, on arrival, we found that the whole hotel was Non-Smoking!! The Hotel position was excellent and the journey down to the parking area in a car lift was interesting, to say the least! Access to the Hotel is via a pedestrian area.

This was our first stay at the Hotel Sercotel Ciudad de Oviedo. The one meal we had at the hotel on Saturday 8 October was satisfactory, but we were disappointed at the menu selection - too limited and not enough choice. In our view the hotel should not be advertised as having a restaurant. During the rest of our 10 night stay in Oviedo we ate out at local restaurants one in centre the other a small Italian bistro. Breakfasts excellent. Good choice. Good selection Helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast bar always well stocked even later in morning! Location of hotel excellent for exploring old city of Oviedo and for all city facilities. Reasonably easy to find when driving into Oviedo from airport. Very pleased hotel had garage - made all the difference not having to look for a parking space.

This was a very nice hotel; the rooms was extremely comfortable room with a very nice bath, good bed and nice linens. I was one person in a room with a double (maybe queensize?)bed. Even though my room was located behind the elevator, it was completely quiet. There were enough hangers in the closet and a reasonable amount of room to store things; there was not much deskspace as the small desk was mostly taken up by the TV. The hotel is very close to the central business district, the Cathedral, and excellent restaurants. The walk to the Palace of Congresses gets a bit long in the morning as it takes about 10-15 minutes through the old quarter on an entirely uphill slope - it's a gradual slope, but definitely uphill. Overall, the location of the hotel is outstanding. Once you learn your way around Oviedo, it is close to everything. Oviedo is a bit confusing, so you can go a long way out of your way if you get on the wrong street. I expected free WIFI from the ads, but the hotel offered a free DSL line that required you to load a software package that only ran on Microscoft operating systems; I have a MAC so I used the lobby internet access, which cost 1Euro per half hour and was rather difficult to use (slow slow keyboard). Even so, I think I would go back to this hotel if I had another meeting in Oviedo. I JUST WISH THEY HAD WIFI. I never had breakfast in the hotel. The minibar was reasonably priced and reasonably stocked. They also never took out my own water bottles that were in there getting cold when they cleaned. The staff were very nice and there is someone on the desk 24/7. We used a mix of English and Spanish; I think, however, it would be fine to stay here if you did not speak Spanish. Getting to the airport by the bus is the best way to go -- you can walk to the bus station or take a very short cab and then pay about 6E to get to the airport; cabs to the airport are about 50E. The hotel staff will help you get the bus schedule.
