The hotel is absolutely amazing and our room was always clean and with all the facilities written on the web. We were only a bit upset that they didn't give us a room on a higher floor (we were on the sixth and the hotel has got 26 floors) even though we wrote it on our reservation. Apart from that, everything was great!!

This hotel does not, rightly, pretend to be close the centre of Barcelona or in the economy bracket. But it is very modern, fair value for money, and well served by public transport. A good venue if you are using the Forum conference centre or working in east BCN

This is a very beautiful hotel in quite a good location that unfortunately is let down in a couple of areas. Arriving by car the directions on this site are good but once you have found the hotel there is no where to park your car to check in. Apparently you are just meant to park illegally outside the hotel entrance on Avenue Diagonal and straight in front of an entrance from an underground carpark. Some signs and some sort of parking recess would be appreciated for the new arrival! The lifts are gorgeous with great views but clearly inadequate. Especially during peak periods in the morning and before dinner we were waiting over 15 mins just for a lift to arrive which more often than not was too crowded to get in. We had to resort to the stairs on some occasions as we were only on the 7th floor but that is ridiculous in a 4 star hotel! The area around the hotel is being redeveloped. Perhaps it could have happened anywhere in Barcelona but on our first morning we had only just crossed the street when we were approached by 2 men flashing "Police National" ID and demanding our passports. We refused and walked away. They didn't chase us so obviously the ID was fake. Having never come across a scam like that before and in a new city it was lucky we trusted our instincts. You don't have to be paranoid but you do have to be on your guard at all times in Barcelona.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody (except those with a fear of heights!). The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms were scrupulously clean. The location is on the edge of Barcelona but there is a metro stop close by (line closed while we were there), the tourist bus stops right outside and you can buy tickets at the hotel, and there is a good, cheap, frequent bus service from outside the hotel too. Adjacent to the hotel is a good shopping mall which has a decent variety of eating places as well as a big supermarket and many fashion shops. The area is one of regeneration - there are parks close by and it's only about ten minutes walk from the sea front. A really pleasurable stay.

First time stay, parents and twenty-year old daughter Plus points: amazing views of Barcelona, comfortable rooms, balcony rooms providing night views of the city, non-balcony rooms of the sea. Next to large international shopping centre with restaurants, cafes, juice bars, shops, supermarket, cinema. Buses running to town outside hotel or taxi for 8 euro. Beach very near. Minus points: Surrounding area still in redevelopment, no lightlife to talk of. pool area upstairs very small and squashed and in shade from early afternoon onwards, DO NOT EAT IN HOTEL - prices ott and next door full of choice and better value

The rooms are just as on photos. Very nice stay, big drinks and nice staff. The hotel is located appr. 5 minutes away from city centre. Not walking distance. The pool and spa was not as inviting as on photos. Otherwise I would stay there again. Good stay for the money.

Rating would have been higher as overall the hotel was excellent, but we had a room on the top floor facing the sea and the Forum, and the noise from the all night discotheque at the Forum was very bad. After a second night of this we requested a move to another room on the other side of the hotel. It was not clear if this noise factor was a new development, the staff seemed unsure. If it continues regularly I think they may struggle to let rooms on that side of the hotel.

Although this hotel is some way out of the city centre, it was very accesible via tram/metro. We stayed on the top floor and had a brilliant view, the room was fantastic, very modern, the shower alone was worth the visit ! There are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby, and a shopping complex. When we return to Barcelona we will definitely stay here.

Location next to the Mall was excellent. The Tour Bus and City Bus made travel very easy. The lobby was cold and uninviting but overall the hotel was an excellent choice. While dining was advertised, I never saw where it was served or ate there. Need to advertise more about that. Evjoyed the stay and view. Especially like the automatic blinds and shade darkening curtain. One was also available to the bath area. I would definitely recommend and would stay their again. The area was quiet and away from touring crowds.

We stayed in Barcelona Mon-Thurs in a very sunny April week. The hotel was gorgeous with very friendly staff, and the view from the hotel (20th floor) was fantastic. There was an underground Metro station just round the corner which was excellent for sight-seeing as we could be at any number of places in around 10 mins and the system was cheap, efficient (train every 5 mins and on time!!!) and safe as we used it right up to midnight with no bother (women were happy to travel alone at this hour). There is also a shopping centre with outside eating area for a quiet day before heading home. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

I highly recommend this hotel if you are visiting Barcelona. The staff are welcoming, efficient and very helpful. The hotel has a very modern feel about it. It is a bit of hike to get to the centre of the city but the transit is excellent so there is always an easy way to get to into town. The bathroom and shower was like a spa experience very well designed rooms.

The Princess Hotel is some distance from the centre of the city but is within easy reach on the comfortable and cheap public transport. We chose to walk along the waterfront to the Columbus Monument on a couple of occasions and although quite a distance was well worth the effort. The hotel had all the amenities a weekend visit could require and with the price charged being less than that quoted represented excellent value. Breakfast was expensive and no tea making facilities in the room meant the room service bill was more than it should have been.

Excellent room. Breathtaking view of the city from the 17th floor. Bathroom facilities fantastic, bed was large and comfortable etc etc. Going in the Glass Lift brought audable gasps from most people we got into the lift with. Location was not too bad, short metro ride to more central/historic areas of city. Nice tram route to Port Olympic. Also the Tour Bus stops outside the hotel but, probably due to the size of the city, this can be painfully slow. Shopping centre outside hotel offers some decent opportunities for food and drink but I would go for Port Olympic again for nice meals etc. One thing we did try was Spanish Cooking Lessons offered by Travel Bar on C/Boqueria 27 (near Las Ramblas) which was an all you eat/drink combo for €15 per person. Be aware that you are not allowed to bring your own food/drink into the hotel. We blagged it the time we were caught by the security guard saying it was for the beach, but subsequently we put the contraband into our beach bags with towels on top and were not bothered. We certainly didn't expect the Spanish Inquesition. Did have a problem with the rooftop pool as I had left some towels on the sunloungers (our own, not the hotel ones so they were easily identifiable) when we went for breakfast. When we had returned someone (I assumed it to to be the eastern european couple who were on the reserved beds) had taken our towels and thrown them in the laundry bin. After an undignified scramble in the laundry and a lot of hard staring at the Eastern Europeans (who squirmed as they tried to ignore us and claim they could not speak English despite clearly being heard some moments earlier) we decided to go to the beach which proved to be a much better idea and was much more enjoyable in the long run. Great quality hotel and would return there again. Plus it can only get better as more development occurs in that area of Barca.

Room was nice and clean. Service was good. Swimming pool, on 23-rd, was closed all time. On my very late arrival I had to wait a while, before getting the room, because the receptionists were busy, some with tourists other with his fiancé.

The hotel was excellent, everything as it appears on the pictures, very, very spacious room. It is conveniently located next to the mall and a block away from the metro station 'El Meresme Forum'- line 4. This was especially important because there is not much to do right around the hotel area. On a side note: I tried accessing a VoIP program (Yahoo messanger beta 8.0), but had some difficulties placing calls since they had just upgraded their firewall and blocked the ports necessary to accomplish voice communication using the internet, however I was able to navigate the internet, access my e-mail, and access my instant messanger just fine. I must say that after traveling throught Europe, our stay in this hotel was the best, we give it a 10, and would definetly stay here again.

The only thing that I have to say about my stay in Princess is that I recommend it without any hesitation to anyone who wants to visit Barcelona. The hotel is magnificent and the price to quality is excellent (we were finally charged 100 euros for the room instead of 107 that is stated in venere). I would suggest the city view and a high floor - we were situated on the 25th - especially for the night view. Please keep in mind that breakfast is not included (it costs 17 euros per person). In case you want to go shopping, there is a very nice mall just next to the hotel (where you can find lots of things to do - including having a breakfast there for a much lower price). Having a Metro station 100 metres away from the hotel is surely a great plus. The beach is 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Again, Princess is very highly recommended for anyone who wants to enjoy his/her stay in Barcelona and I will surely visit it in all my future trips to the city.

Definate recommendation. Free mini-bar & room safe were especially appreciated. Great views of the City from the elevator and sunrise over the sea from the room (26th floor). Breakfast a bit much at €17, but good. Small Cafe across the road, LARGE shopping mall next door, metro and Tram stops about 1 minute walk away, and "Tourist Bus" stop on the corner of the hotel.

Generally excellent! But had to wait from 12.00 , first to 12.30 and then to 13.30 before room available. Shopping center behind the wall with many restaurants and shops. Bus route starts outside reception, just 20-25 min to city center! Also Metro station very close.Top floor pool for just one person at time. Sauna OK at 4th floor, but the Gym with only one general all-purpose-instr and a few (broken) weights!

Very nice hotel ... nicely designed, lots of nice touches, great views and so on. Spectacular pool. Breakfast was very good (but not included in the price !!). The main complaint is that the rooms are tiny. Plus the description of 500m to the sea may be true, but it's considerably more than 500m to the nearest beach

While somewhat distant from the old city, it is located on the metro which has an excellent and frequent service to all parts of the city. The 10 trip ticket is excellent value. The hotel is ultra-modern in design which gave a slightly indifferent or impersonal aspect to the public areas, particularly with the orange and black decor. While the hotel has 2 swimming pools, both are very small with little space for sun beds etc. Additionally they lose the sun relatively early in the day during summer. Two bonuses were the free internet access on the mezzanine floor and the free soft drinks and beer in the minibar, but on the other hand we felt the breakfast was over-priced at 16 Euros. Fortunately there are some local cafes that filled in the gap. The staff seemed friendly enough but we had 2 room problems (failed light and a faulty aircon system) that were never attended to in spite of a request for attention. While we found the hotel generally quite adequate, on a second visit to Barcelona we would probably try another hotel nearer the centre and with a better swimming pool.

However, when I arrived the staff on reception could not find my reservation for my party of six people and did not inspire conficence. This hotel was beautiful and the view from the 23rd floor was spectacular. The room featured all of the latest furnishings and the bathroom and particularly the shower were very unique. Very nice hotel, we had a free upgrade to a Junior Suite which was very nice, If your scared of heights ask for a lower floor as there is lots of glass. If I had to be critical I would say it was quite a distance from the usual tourist areas, i.e Las Ramblas, Catalunya Square and the Ports, about a 10 Euro taxi ride. There is Tram & Underground station right next to the hotel, however as there was 4 of us it was easier & cheaper to geta taxi. Overall a very enjoyable stay, again the rooms were 1st class.

This hotel is located in Diagonal Mar. There are lots of new developments and a mall next door that I really enjoyed. Check out Diagonal Mar Park. When I checked in the reception was a little pushy because I was showing up a day earlier than the dates I reserved on venere. I ended up getting a cheaper rate 75 euro versus the 110 I booked on venere. It all worked out. The rooms are all brand new and awesome. The Pool deck on the 23d floor and the Jacuzzi on the 3d floor are very nice. Massage is very reasonable (50 euro). Cool modern architectural and design featured throughout hotel. I would return in the summer and get a Suite.

Our stay at the Barcelona Princess was very pleasant. The hotel, the room and the service were very good. The only thing, one has to know is, that you always need to take public transportation (metro, busses, taxi) to get to the city center of Barcelona. It is a 15 minutes drive with the metro (metro station is very close) to the cathedral for example. If you get a room at an upper floor, you have an spectecular view over either Barcelona or the sea. All together the hotel is very recommandable.
