The 3-star riad Dar Moulay Ali is located in the ancient Mouassine district, in the heart of the Medina of Marrakesh, just 5 minutes from the famous Jemaa El Fna Square and the Dar El Bacha palace. A short stroll through the quaint streets is all you need to reach the handicraft shops, restaurants, and lively souks of the Old Town. This charming Marrakesh riad stands out for its authentic décor and warm hospitality.

The doors of Dar Moulay Ali open on a stunning inner courtyard, where the babble and chaos of the Medina are shunned and replaced by the imperceptible murmur of the water fountain. The 8 elegant guestrooms and suites are all set around this central patio, the beating core of the Dar. Whether under the shades of citrus and orange trees of the patio, in the Moroccan lounge or on the roof terrace, guests can enjoy a hearty breakfast each morning, sweet honey-filled Moroccan pastries in the afternoon, or romantic candle-lit dinners at night. And the attentive staff will spare no effort to make your stay in Morocco an unforgettable one! Complimentary wireless Internet access is available to all guests. On guests' advance request, the staff can also arrange a roundtrip airport shuttle service and a babysitting service.

Pets and service animals are not permitted.

We enjoyed our stay very much,A few basic things need fixing i.e.3 electrical sockets didn't work, towel rail needs fixing to wall, toilet roll holder missing but Fatima made up for missing details!!No choice at breakfast but it was nice and fresh. You should ask Fatima to cook an evening meal, delicious! The location was excellent about 10 mins.from the main square.Be aware of pick pockets and others who try and rip you off.Not all Morrocans are as nice and helpful as they seem- whatever they do,they expect money for it.

more indications about how to get to the riad would be very useful because marrakesh medina is not easy and asking to people can cost you some dirhams and quite unpleasant situations.

Perfect place for a few days in Marrakech (F, 19 and I stayed 4 nights in january), very well located (once you found it), right behind Jemaa el Fna, which is really convenient. You need to speak french tough. (like any other place in Marocco actually) The staff is very very nice, warm, always does the best to make you feel comfortable, unlike many other marrakchi who spend their days trying to swindle tourists. The breakfast was amazing, fresh food, msamen and honey, omelette, bread and confiture, good orange juice and tea/coffee. The rooms are just fine, clean and it feels really good to stay in the riad, it is suprisingly quiet, you feel far from the tumult of the center. (if you are coming during winter, think about bringing an extra pullover for the night, nights are really cold, and since a riad is not completely close...) You can spend some time on the roof, take a little nap, they have deckchairs. They also have free and unlimited wifi, which is nice if you need some information or want to relax after a long day visiting. I would recommend the place without hesitation. (To find it the first time : once you are where the bus come, south west of Jemaa, go ahead until you find a 'bab' (door) on your right, take the alley, go ahead, pass the Elksour street, and about 200 meters from there there will be a entry with 3 steps on your right where the riad is located)

Absolutely beautiful riad where the staff were really helpful and lovely. When you arrive you are seated at a table in the beautiful courtyard and given a cup of sweet herbal tea while you fill in details, and shown up to your room when you are ready. There is a lovely roof terrace which is surprisingly quiet and the room was great (bed a bit hard). They cooked a meal for us in the evening which was fantastic, for 15 euros each. Very difficult to find, as is everything in Marrakech, but you pay someone 10dh and follow them (as you do for everything).

Great place to spend your time in Marrakech! Excellently located between Djeema el Fna and the souqs, the Riad is a peaceful and silent spot in the beautiful but hectic city. As two female travellers we felt safe to get there, even on our own and at night. Staff is very very friendly and welcoming, they are really caring and get you delicious cups of mint tea and fresh orange juice. Rooms are nice and clean, located around the central space from where you can hear who is taking a shower. Great value for money, I would certainly book this hotel again!

Close to Jemaa el Fna and still not easy to find (there are two different descriptions on an unspecific map!). Once you are within the Dar you'll find a nice exotic court with four orangetrees, a friendly and helpfull staff and tranquillity after the rush of the souk. We stayed in two different rooms and both were romantic and clean. We enjoyed sitting on the roof, with a good view over the city. Breakfast was good and plenty, the service fine. We hope to come back in March 2012.

We loved staying here. It was a little hard to find, as is to be expected, but once I found it I loved returning each night through the winding streets. Our host was fantastic, and everything was perfect! The riad is actually rather small, but that makes it easy to have really personal service.

Loved this hotel. Location was perfect as to what we were looking for. Staff were tremendous. We got breakfast whenever we woke up. Entering the hotel was like going into complete silence from the noise level of the outside. 6 rooms all different in decor. Not really ideal for a family stay as the rooms are a little small. Top notch hotel (RIAD) if you are into Moroccan style and class. Well worth staying in. Rate very highly.

Absolutely recommended! Riad Dar Moulay Ali is a beautiful House with nice staff. Spoken languages are french and a little bit of english. The the photos give a realistic picture of the place. From the terrace you have a nice view on the mosque, the medina and the atlas mountains. As indcated it is a five minute walk to the djem el fna (if you pass through the souk) and a two minute walk to avenue mohammed V. Staff is present all the time and provides good service 24/24 (arriving at night was no problem ;) ). We recommend to try the dinner which is cooked by the concierce and his wife. The rooms can not be locked, but you can store your stuff in the manager's bureau.

My partner and I had a wonderful time at the charming Dar Moulay Ali, and are keen to return. The location was great, in the heart of the Medina, in a street full of shops and people, so we felt safe walking around. Inside was an oasis; absolutely silent from the madness outside, and naturally 10-15 degrees cooler than outside, therefore we didnt feel the 42 degrees. Our hosts were very kind and warm, and were at our service at all hours. The room was very clean, quite spacious and full of light. The breakfast was abundant and fresh, and served in the beautiful garden, which was a treat. We also enjoyed having dinner at the hotel(higly recommended), cooked for you especially by Fatima; it was both delicious and romantic. Overall rating 9/10

This is a fantastic Riad in Marrakech. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. I got sick while I was in Marrakech, and they checked on me and brought me mint tea. The Riad is beautiful, centrally located, and worth the cost. They also arranged a fantastic guide for us. Highly recommended!
