I don't know who rated this as a 3 stars hotel? People at the reception are very welcoming and their service is very good, but cleanness is an issue. I suffered from insects!!! Yes, INSECTS!!! Many! Moreover, sheets are not very clean. Not all rooms are provided with air conditioner and I had to argue in order to get a room with an air conditioner as described on the internet (although the weather is soooo hot). Breakfast is all sweets! No TV or fridge in the rooms. So, in general, albiet people are very nice and the place is very close to the tourist area, my overall experience is not satisfactory at all.

The best part of this humble Riad are the wonderful people who manage the property. Hassin, the manager is a wonderful, thoughtful person. The location was convenient even though the street scape was less than desireable with a trade school across the street. They were doing some work at night during our stay which was loud and made it difficult to sleep. The rooms were nicely furnished, very clean and the bathrooms up to date as well. I would definitely stay there again. One really nice feature is that this Riad is a accessible by taxi/car. Many Riads are located down alleys deep within the Medina and it is very difficult to get luggage and to go places without a significant walk.

Very nice family owned facility situated in the heart of Marakech. It is simple and authentic and clearly people working there like Hassan who was always there and very helpful make this Riad a nice place to stay. A diner at the Riad - we had the chance to have mama behind the stove - is also something we are glad we didn't miss. After a day in the souk we appreciated authentic morrocan cuisine in a quiet place. We were a group of 6 mountaineers coming back from the high Atlas and had a good stay at the Riad Dar Atta before going back to Europe.

I was very pleased with Dar Atta, I felt like I got pretty lucky with this choice. At 30 euro/night, I expected it would be a little questionable but the level of quality far exceeded my expectations. The lounge area was well kept and attractive - candles and lanterns at night were a nice touch. All of the rooms face out on an atrium with a large palm, and a veranda with chairs and a table for each room. My room was spacious and clean, and maid service came daily. No air conditioning or TV, but I don't need or want that. The staff is very friendly and polite, Hassan was incredibly helpful. Most of the staff speak only French and Arabic so sometimes it is hard to communicate but there was no lack of patience and helpfulness. Breakfast was great. A woman came by that spoke English to handle payment. Location is good, only a 5 minute walk to the main square and close to the Koutoubia Mosque. I would definitely get directions or map out where Dar Atta is located before you go. The entire time I was there, no one could ever place the hotel on a map or knew the street where the hotel is located. It's not easy to find and Marrakech is a bit overwhelming when you step off the bus. The airport bus will drop you 5 minutes away from the hotel but you would never be able to find it without a map or directions and you can't depend on people in the street or even a cab driver being able to find it. Overall, very happy with Dar Atta and would stay there again. Highly recommended.

Very nice place, quite, confortable and cheap. Very kind staff, I wanted to know managers to thanks but I've never seen them during my stay....next time. Just a review: shuttle service too expensive related to taxi prices.

This is a problem, because if I describe how nice a place Dar Atta is, I might not be able to get a room there next time I need it :-) Dar Atta staff is friendly and welcoming and after a long day of travelling, it was wonderfull to be welcomed with a pot of mint tea and snacks in the cosy lounge. The fire was on in the fireplace and when I was ready, I got a beautiful and quiet room, with a huge bathroom and lots of space in the room. Jeema El Fna is just round the corner. The inner yard is beautiful and the breakfast was large and with the best cup of coffee that I have ever got in Morocco - except from my mother in law's ;-) Thanks for the help to catch a taxi to the airport in the morning and the concerns about my safety as a single female traveller. I'll certainly return to this gem.

No surprises - a basic B&B style property which is clean and well located just outside the winding alleys of the central medina, which is a benefit as cars can drive up right outside. Staff mostly speak French, but the day manager has some English. Breakfast is pastries, orange juice and coffee, OK for a couple of days. Rooms vary considerably depending what you pay for. The ground floor basic rooms do not have hot water or windows. Wi-fi only works on the ground floor. There is a choice of windows or quiet - the rooms facing the courtyard get limited light but aren't on the noisy road. Rooms with windows are noisy with the cars outside at all hours, but get more light.

Consigliatissimo.

Very pleasant little guest house in a convenient location that looks like nothing much from the outside. Spacious rooms and nicely decorated ensuites, although water pressure and temperature were a problem in some. Opposite a school, so street-facing rooms experienced some noise early in the morning. Overall, good value, highly recommended accommmodation.

Very peaceful and calming place to go back to after a day's touring in Marrakech. 10min walk to Djemaa El Fna, and yet in a quiet back alley. Appreciated the welcoming pot of mint tea and local sweets/olives on our arrival. Friendly staff who especially prepared our breakfast in a box for our day excursion. We would recommend this Riad.

We were really impressed with Dar Atta. We stayed there the first night we arrived in Marrakech and we left to go to Fes the next day but I'm sorry we didn't go back to Dar Atta when we returned to Marrakech. As we were just staying one night we didn't see how good or bad the location was but not bad from the airport or train station and it appeared on the map to be close to Marrakech attractions such as the Jemaa el Fna. Dar Atta itself was tranquil, beautiful and peaceful. The staff were excellent, at hand at all times, and great at organizing taxi's for us. The room was cleverly designed and really pretty. Our breakfast in the morning was delicious with excellent coffee and an array of Moroccan foods, fruit and bread. Our only disappointment was that the view from the roof terrace wasn't the most spectacular we had seen...hardly a complaint though!

The staff at Dar Atta are exceptionally helpful and genuine. We had a missing suitcase and the staff allowed us to use their contact details, and in our absence they also phoned the Marrakech airport every day to check the status. Once the bag arrived to the airport (a week after we had stayed at dar Atta) they contacted us. The room was lovely and so was the breakfast.

don't be fooled by the facade of dar atta because inside what looks like a rundown building is actually a beautiful, tranquil oasis in the hustle of marrakech. this guesthouse was the highlight of my stay, exotic bedrooms, excellent service, delicous mint tea and a great veiw from the roof terrace which has the biggest, most comfortable loungers, perfect for sunbathing or star gazing. we simply loved it, including my hard to impress 12 year old son!
