We stayed at Amira Victoria for five days spanning the New Year's holidays. The riad manager, Hassan and his staff, are exceptionally hospitable. Hassan assisted us whenever we needed his help and the rooms were cleaned each day. Special mention goes to Mustafa who met us in the medina to guide us to the riad when we first arrived plus served breakfast each morning. The riad is definitely difficult to find as it's located on a side street in the heart of the medina. It took us 3 tries before we could make it to/from Jamaa el Fna without getting lost!! Trying to find your way back in the dark was especially difficult and can be scary if you're not comfortable walking on very dimly lit streets. Location wise though, it is close to the Ben Youssef Medersa and the Marrakech Museum which are two places every first time visitor to Marrakech should pay a visit to. The riad is also only about a 10 minute walk (if you know the route) to the souks and maybe about a 20 walk to Jamaa el Fna. I would recommend Amira Victoria to anyone wanting the riad experience.

Great and clean place. Beautifull and well-maintained building. The only drawbacks was the location. It was pretty difficult to finding the place, so that take in consideration the shuttle offered by the hotel. However, this is a general difficulty in Marrakesh due to the arabic architecture of the old town.

We enjoyed our stay at Amira Victoria. Everything correct and nice. Hassan, the manager, has a pointed pencil, we say in German, that means that everything is charged. Don't change your money and pay with Euros when you got your hotel tariffs in Euro and don't pay with credit card (recommendation www.tripadvisor.com). The employees and waiters are very nice but speak only French or Arab. We had a not so good double matress, which wasn:t changed - find yourself in the middle of it after some hours sleep - but the room was beautiful except for some ugly parts of the wall.

Just what we wanted by way of authentic Morrocan accomodation. As noted by fellow vistors, very difficult to find once you are in the labyrinth of the derbs. English speaking staff in short supply which did cause confusion at times. Some noisey reconstruction underway during our stay so afternoon siesta out of the question. For cleanliness and atmosphere would recommend it to others.

A fabulous riad and the owner and staff were lovely. They couldn't have been more helpful, keeping our luggage on our last day so we could see more sights and even serving us breakfast on the roof terrace when we turned up after breakfast was officially over... The only downside was we found it tricky to find - if you were there for more than a few days though it would definitely get easier!

It was my first time in Marrakech and after reviewing some roads we chose Amira Victoria. The hotel was beautiful and the staff really nice (especially the manager who orientated us and speaks like 7 languages!). However the 15 minute walk from the main square (Jama el Fna) can be too long, quite frighting and difficult to follow, mainly at night. If would recommend a place closer to Jama el Fna if you want to avoid this, specially more mature couples.

We loved our stay at the Riad Amira Victoria. Our room was lovely. The air conditioner was much appreciated and the decor of our room and the hotel was beautiful. The Riad is located North of The Souk's and far enough away that everything is very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was tasty and filling and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would like to note that the manager El Hassan BOUKHCHA, spoke excellent English and was especially helpful. I would take the advice of the manager and other guests and have the staff pick you up, especially if you arrive in the evening. You will not find this place though once you become familiar with your surroundings you will have no problem heading out and exploring Beautiful Marrakech. I would not hesitate staying here again.

I loved my stay at this Riad. This is the second year i have stayed here with a group and I found the service and facilities excellent. From the moment we arrived (at 2am in the morning and greeted by a smiling and welcoming Mohammed)we were treated in a friendly and very respectful manner. The rooms were comfortable and it is a relatively easy 5min walk to the back end of the souks and 20 mins to the main square. The Riad is like an oasis away from the hustle of the souks and the square. We dined at the riad on one night and the meal, for 15 Euros, was delicious and good value. We were looked after so well by Mustafa and the rest of the hotel staff and I would definately recommend this place for value, comfort and good service.

The Riad Amira Victoria is located in a quiet back alley within 10 minutes walk from the souks and the main square. We had no difficulty in finding our accommodation after familiarising with the area. The staff were attentive and very helpful especially Mustafa who prided himself on good service, especially at breakfast on the terrace. Breakfast was good, with orange juice, coffee, french stick and buns, with butter and marmalade. More than enough to start the day. We have no hesitation in recommending Riad Amira and would stay there again.

After staying in five Riads, this was our favorite. So open, beautiful, clean. The staff has passable English but were SO SO nice. It's a bit of a walk from the souks, but that part was a relief after the craziness of the square. Do not be afraid of getting lost. The map from the riad was great. Enjoy!!

Great stay - if you are ready for the Medina in Marrakesch! Hassan, the manager welcomes you in German, French, Spanish or Arabian language fluently. Finding the Riad in the Medina requires experience or a good cab driver plus 10 DH for the kids arround. The main improvable point was the mattress in the bed - clean but extremely soft. A very special treatment you get from Mustafa, the Riad's factotum, who cares for virtual everything. But he does speak only hardly understandable French. All in al, we surely would come back here. And it's clearly recommendable for people, who can enjoy Marrakesch. Then you can enjoy this Riad too.

We found the Riad an oasis away from the busy world of the Souks - it was quite an experience at times navigating our way to and from the Riad though!! Good service transfering to and from Riad/airport. We enjoyed two excellent evening meals at the Riad and the breakfasts were excellent too. Moustafa's service was second to none throughout our stay and it was wonderful to discover the Riad owner spoke such good English and we didn't have to rely on our inadequate French.

Best place to visit Marrakesch!

This Riad is a really beautiful oasis in the midst of the Medina of Marrakech. Step out of the door and you are almost immediately there, where the action goes on. Even so the Riad is absolutely quiet. Nevertheless you can listen to the mosque singers sitting on the nice terrace on the roof of the Riad. We had no difficulties finding it, but this was only due to some very encouraged guys who grabbed our luggage the very moment we left the taxi and guided us through a labyrinth of narrow passageways to the riad. We wouldn't have found that on our own but obviously the people there know where it is. Hold ready a bit of money for the guides, though. The accomodation is very clean, comfortable and the setup is full of atmosphere. It was always a pleasure to return to the riad after a day wandering through Marrakech. The attendant Mustafa is attentive, descreet and patient. We only spoke some rudimentary French and no Arabic and he does not speak English. So communiaction was sometimes quite difficult. If you would like to enjoy some beer in the riad in the evening, make sure there is some available early, since alcoholic supplies are generally low there due to restrictions by law. You must absolutely not miss to take at least one breakfast on the terrace! The owner of the riad is a friendly and communicative man. He is very helpful and likes to talk to his guests. He even gave us a free ride to the train station at the day of our depart. We had a great time in Marrakech and a huge part due to the Riad Amira Victoria. Absolutely recommended!

We stayed five nights in The Riad Amira Victoria. The Riad is a beautifully decorated house with a warm atmosphere. It is situated right in the middle of the Medina (The walled centre of the town) and a heaven of tranquility in sharp contrast with the outside world. The rooms were perfect and very clean. The personel very friendly and the owner mr. Hassan always willing to help and answering - with great patience - all your questions. On request they serve you excellent and typical Marrocan food in the evening. Breakfast in the morning is pleasantly variable and sufficient. Nice roofterrace. Excellent value for money.

Would highly recommend this Riad, the only thing I would like is an itemised bill before departure,as trips, meals taken couldn't be checked against the price quoted which caused confusion, as some ended up more expensive. It was all done rushed in the morning on a calculator. Would also like a set time for breakfast as I think the staff were dragged out of bed to serve breakfast for early departures. Excellent staff but could not speak english but that was my ignorance.EXCELLENT RIAD. Finally got hassled a lot from locals wanted to show us way home for money, but that was part of the experience.

The Riad was a pleasant surprise and the staff were very accommodating. El Hassan made everything seem easy in what was a complete departure from North American culture. The meal I ate there was exceptional and I recommend doing so at least once during your stay. Negotiating the medina was challenging at the least, so staying in one evening is relaxing. You will be hard pressed to find this quality authentic accommodations and service at this price in Marrakech.

Overall pretty good place if you want to be within 10 mins walk of Jemaa el Fna. and 2 mins from Souks. Solid riad. Had a nice room and nice bathroom /shower. very minor crib: No replacement shower gel :( Was there in November so quite cool at night. Heater in room. Nice roof terrace for breakfast. Good speedy wifi which was very handy :). Staff are efficient and courteous Riad organised day trip to Atlas mountains for about 25 euro. This was worth doing apart from the numerous stop offs on the way at "selected" merchant locations. A small thing, but I didn't expect to be hit for an extra 25 euro for pick up from airport and lift to train station (both so near to place) after giving tips to staff etc. :( It was handy, but it would have been nice to know that in advance.... Note there's a 5% surcharge for paying by CC Overall recommended

We are so glad we stayed here. We were welcomed with some refreshing mint tea as we arrived. Very friendly staff and accommodating--our every need was fulfilled. Hassan was very enlightening to talk with and so helpful with suggestions and making arrangements. Have a reservation made for dinner at Le Foundouk (within walking distance) and definately have the pistachio creme brulee after your meal. We enjoyed the day trip to the waterfalls (wear appropriate shoes though). Draw a map through the souks to get to Place Jemaa El Fna or else you will definately get lost. On the morning we left we arranged to have a wake-up knock on the door and a driver to take us to the airport. Now that is personable service! We stayed in Rm 11 and it was so comfortable--we slept so well. Each morning we came downstairs, a light yet filling breakfast was served. We would not have changed anything during our stay--it was so nice to stay in the heart of the city, surrounded by all the culture, and away from too many tourists. Strip away the dust, the people who will constantly approach you on the street, and some of the unpleasant sights you might see, and appreciate the beauty! This was one of our most memorable trips. On our last day, we took our individually-wrapped snacks we had brought (i.e., breakfast bars, trail mix, etc...) and passed them out to the children playing in front of the hotel. Their thankfulness and the look in their eyes will melt your heart.

Hassan and his staff were very solicitous and friendly. He was always available by phone to answer any questions and give recommendations re restaurants or modes of transportation. Two issues however did not sit well: 1)the night after we arrived for our four night stay we were asked to change rooms because another guest was coming in; and 2) when we checked out, Hassan claimed that Venere was charging him a 5% booking fee instead of the 4% printed on my agreement.

Very friendly welcoming, clean and beautiful Riad at a good price. Very helpful in arranging trips - High Atlas, Essouira etc at good prices. The Riad is difficult to find and easy to get lost, but that is part of the Marrakech Medina experience! Not for the elderly or young children. The meals were fine (You have to order in advance and it would be good for new arrivals to pre book), home cooked and bountiful, breakfast was limited but fine, needs fruit and yoghourt. Altogether a great holiday over 8 days for my wife and myself and a great base for exploring the old city.

The stay was lovely! I wish it could have been for more than just one night. We were in Morocco to celebrate my husband´s 30th birthday, and what a last night we spent in Riad Amira Victoria. We got in late, and as with all riads in the Medina, were a bit intimated walking to the famous plaza (which I can never spell correctly) for dinner (about 15 minutes away). Half way there, we realized we were lost, chickened out and headed back to the hotel, convinced we would go to bed hungry. I explained to Mustafah, the Mayor Duomo, that we were afraid to go to the plaza in my pathetic French (no English in many riads), AND HE WALKED US THERE!! He was so sweet, everyone in the hotel was. It had two levels of roof terraces, lovely quite rooms, and amazing breakfast. We felt completely safe. The owner, a lovely Morrocan gentleman who spoke all languages, told us that soon they would be expanding into the building next door so that they can offer a pool and Turkish bath. I sincerely hope we can stay there again one day! Oh, and I do advise that whatever Riad in the Medina you stay at, that you take them up on their offer to pick you up/drop you off at the airport!
