This is a great B&B, great facility, beautiful surrounding, and the Balinese theme is beautifully executed. However, there are certain helpful tips one needs to know to enjoy this place: - You need a car. There are no transports (contrary to what Venere says) to Mai Tai and it is secluded and a ride from Port Douglas, so you would be lost without a car. - The internet fee is $10 per day not per stay. Except for that, it is a wonderfully quiet experience, and Andre is amazingly helpful in giving ideas and tips as to what to do in the area.

We had a fantastic stay, and would highly recommend Mai Tai to couples or individuals looking for a peaceful relaxing retreat. It is a beautiful location, high in the rainforrest. You will need a car if you wish to sight-see, or dine in neighbouring towns.

From being collected at Cairns airport by Anthony to being returned to Cairns airport by Andre we were pampered and spoiled as we enjoyed the unique experience of staying at Mai Tai in such a private and beautiful location. Breakfasts on the verandah were an absolute delight with the huge fresh fruit platter including fruit grown at Mai Tai. Our room was comfortable and immaculate dominated by a big cosy bed! It was wonderful to enjoy the freedom of "being just yourself". As there is no evening meal provided, Anthony and Andre not only recommended an excellent and value for money restaurant, but took us there to collect the food and set up a table on the verandah for us to eat. There was nothing which seemed to be too much trouble as they made us feel so welcome. It was not long before we felt as if we were staying with friends whom we'd known for years! Our only complaint ...... we didn't stay there long enough and we can't find an excuse to return for another visit in the near future!!

Room Details
Mai Tai Resort offers 6 guest rooms for your romantic holiday. Balconies provide either mountain, pool or garden views. LCD televisions with DVD players in each room provide entertainment and relaxation at the end of a busy day. Corporate travelers visiting the Mossman area will benefit from free wireless high-speed Internet access as well as safes.
Individual décor and furnishings make each stay a unique experience. A good night's sleep in supportive pillowtop mattresses with premium bedding will have visitors waking up refreshed and well-rested throughout their holiday or business trip. Private bathrooms are outfitted with showers, hair dryers, complimentary toiletries and makeup/shaving mirrors. Minibars and coffee/tea makers are supplied in each room to facilitate basic travel needs. Additional guest comforts include windows that open, air conditioning and ceiling fans.

How to reach Mai Tai Resort
By carFrom Cairns Airport:
Drive north from Cairns along the Cook Highway, following the scenic route along the coastline. On the right, pass by Yorkey Point, Trinity Beach, Palm Cove, Ellis Beach and then Port Douglas. As you arrive into Port Douglas you will see a sign-post pointing right off the Cook Highway, which directs you to Port Douglas township. Bypass this sign and keep travelling north along the Cook Highway for approximately 10 km until you see the sign-post for Mt. Molloy. Turn left at this exit and travel for approximately 2.8 km to the Mai Tai Resort entrance on the right hand side of the road, then follow the driveway to the top of the hill.
