The Riviera Resort - Marfa, Mellieha

Very good!!!

Have been to Malta many times, best hotel so far, Spa massage exellent. A little too far from restraunts and shops if thats what you want.You would need to hire a car or take the bus.Pity about the terrible lumpy pillows and why hide the teaspoons? didnt find them till last day.

The closest village (mellieha) is about 15 minutes by bus and the in the sorroundings there is nothing but ONLY the hotel. Check-in starts at 2pm but at 2.30 the room was not ready yet!

We paid a discounted price for the hotel. We chose it because we wanted a sea view. We got that (but had to peer over the concrete balcony! The pool areas were small, but fortunately we're not the type to sit around the pool. The rooms were a bit tatty and the bathrooms did smell. The big thing that let this hotel down was the breakfast. Reconstituted orange juice from a machine, and coffee from a machine. We paid £100 a night fora sea view room. So not much to ask for fresh coffee and orange juice. Also the breakfasts are geared towards Northern Europeans, so don't expect a fresh light mediteration spread - expect cheese, bacon and pastry. The location of the hotel is great, placing you in a perfect position to explore both Malta and Gozo and it's away from the built up south of the islands. There is a small private "beach" with this hotel, but it is soon full in the mornings - however it is highly recomended for a relaxed evening meal, lit by candlelight. It was a mixed stay - basically you have to remember the positives to outweigh the negatives.

A fine maggio nella camera era troppo caldo, l'aria condizionata era in pratica solo un ventilatore. Di fronte all'albergo parte la barca che porta a comino. Colazione continentale con ampia scelta ma mancava un buon cappuccino.

At arrival:Prepayment necessary,Bed lamps bad mounted,safe closed, Minibar empty,TV control unit not at the room,showerwand bad mounted,BEACH not existing,Breakfast and dinner very poor (british cuisine),Rooms with sea view have a phantastic view of Gozo/Comino,quiet area.Hotel needs overhaul-but is cheap.Marfa Bay Resort nearby is in better condition with a nice garden/beach area.

Excellent hotel with spa facilities,clean,spacious quiet rooms and good price(booked from venere since price is cheaper than booking directly). Location is on the northern part of the island,even though Malta is not a very big place,might not be ideal as a base for a tourist exploring Malta by bus.

We enjoyed our stay. This is the third time we have spent a short break there and we have always been satisfied.
