Floating Sea Cove Resort & Marina - Marathon, Key West

Stay away from this place – repeat stay away! The boats are old and in relatively bad shape. One of the two beds was OK. The boat was big enough but no table nor chairs were provided inside. The room had neither cabinet nor draws so all clothing had to stay in the suitcases on the floor. The refrigerator was dancing on three legs and not cleaned. The micro wave oven was so disgusting. The rotating plate was missing and it was rusty all over inside. We were there four nights and finally after 2½ day, we got a new microwave oven. The bathroom was old and the curtain in the shower had been new 15 years ago at least. The boat had no deck chair when we came but the owner found two. One was shaky and the other one missed the nuts for the bolts, so it kept falling apart. The lock on the door on the boat was not really secure but more like a bathroom door knob. No coffee maker was provided and only one towel per person was brought every day. No towels for the hands. The A/C was rusty and could not provide heating and as most evenings were cold we had to sit in the bed with a jacket on. No bed service was provided either during the stay At the check-out there was a sign she will return at 11:00 AM. Many others had left the key in the drop box as we had to do. No change to get in touch as all residence leaving had to be out by 11. Very convenient to avoid complains. So, over an all – it looks interesting and romantic but it is old and not well maintained if maintained at all.

we found the room with wall air conditioner very loud, the beds were terrible (springs were bad and whole bed sounded like it would fall apart when you sat on it, if u moved in night everyone was awake)toilet rocked on floor,and there were cobwebs on ceiling in bathroom, also place for 3 light bulbs and only 1 worked, outlet in bathroom was painted shut and had to use outlet next to bed. TV volume wouldn't work and found roach in draw under TV.The room had a fan with 3 lights only 2 worked and there were no fan blades. The bedspreads were either dirty or stained terribly. We had paid for 2 nights and beds were not changed after first night. Found drug perfanelia under bed in a small pink purse. took it to office and no one was there until noon, so we left it on door knob and thought we would explain when we got back (we were on vacation and had plans). We returned about 9 that evening and again no one was there until next day at 11:00am. We left before then, all and all very unhappy with stay, expected more for $140.00 a night. Guess we will be more careful next time

this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at,after travels to every continent and 77 countries we could not remember a worst one. the room cost $122. the floors were dirty. the door had a space between the floor of 1.5 inches, there was no closet,only a beat up metal rack with no hangers. there was no toilet paper holder,just the roll on top of the sink. the toilet was loose on the floor, the tv did not work, it was next to the noisy highway. if necessary we have pictures to verify these comments. suggest you consider sleeping in your car before you go to this place.

The place is authentic!!! It is the true florida keys experience. I felt I was in Popeye & Comodore's island Sweethaven. No mosquitos amazing right for summer. We cooked barbecue met a 73 year old pirate with super AC in his boat, 2 pirates that live on a huge catameran & travel the world. We meet a pirate irsh scuba diving instructor really cool guy. The manager Jaime was a true key largo pirate who lived in europe for 30 years approx. then moved down to the keys to settle. He has his own sail boat and has many stories to tell. The place was comfortable, secure, AC was awsome. I felt like I owned the boat. Bathroom was very big with lots of fresh water. The souroundings are beautiful with Sombrero beach & the horse shoe hole in bahia honda.

Relaxed atmosphere, old-time classic establishment, friendly manager and guests, would appeal to anyone who likes simple accommodations, nostalgic 50s look of bungalows, dock and grounds. We loved it, and it's a great value. Not for the upscale traveller, or someone who's looking for a Mariott or Holiday Inn.
