Sea Club Resort - Fort Lauderdale

Unfortunately, I found the service provided not up to the expected standard. In particular, the staff at the reception desk were far from helpful. The toilet roll in the bathroom was dirty with blood. The bath and sink in the bathroom had not plugs. The telephone did not work in my room. You could hear what was going on in the rooms next door (both sides). The carpet was dirty. One was charged for the use of the safe in the room whether it was used or not, ...

Cleanliness of both room and publiv areas simply to poor. I left the place after 2 nights.

OK for overnight; wouldn't recommend for long stay

The room was small but comfortable. Good public transportations next to the hotel. Friendly staff. Beach directly across the street.

The staff was not at all friendly when we first check in. It was as if we were disturbing them. We had requested a King Bed and they were all out which is a little annoying.. why even give us an option to choose what kind of a room we want?! So they told us we would have a room with 2 doubles. The room looked ok a little old and run down but ok... until I got to the bathroom. It was so gross and half-a** cleaned and there was hair all thru the towels YUCK! Then I was going to take a shower and I just turn the water on and the water doesn't drain down due to so much hair in the drain. I called the front desk and they told me that "I need to take that up with Florida Sewer. That is just how it is here in Florida." He wouldn't even have someone come look at it or get the hair out! We checked out and went on our wonderful cruise and realized we left our phone chargers in the disgusting room. We called and they told us we had to call back and talk to the House cleaning people because they deal with all the lost and found. That really sucked because we wanted to go get them as soon as we got off the boat. So we called back and asked if they found them in our room and she said that they find 100's a day and you have to come physically pick them out yourself. Nice customer service. I will never stay there or recommend that place to anyone.. not even a bum!

The room itself wasn't all that great...the carpet was wet like it has just been steamcleaned or something. Sorta of smelled like strong chemicals. Main light when I can in the room was "missing." Other lamps worked OK. I imagine the people before me really messed up the room, and they had to wash it down before I checked in. They should not have rented a room with wet carpet and strong smelling chemicals. The lady at the front desk was rather rude, but besides that, the rest of the staff was nice enough. The saving grace for this hotel is "The Deck" restaurant and bar, located on the 2nd floor outside. You can see part of the beach, and sip on drinks or eat food, while chatting with the guest/bartenders. Greg, the main bartender, is a great guy, and made the visit enjoyable. The actual quality of the place/rooms was not impressive, but again, I thought "The Deck" made up for less than stellar amenities. It's relatively cheap for being right on the beach...so I guess you get what you pay for. I probably would not stay there again. I would stay someplace close by and visit the restaurant/bar there, though.
