Spent a week at hotel with excellent service, friendly and informative staff. Great central location with choice of restaurants nearby, close to Mall, public transit, etc. Would definitely stay there again.

Had a number of interactions with the desk staff and never had to wait long for service. They were very helpful. Two things that were annoyances: - I could not figure out how to change the time on the clock. When I called the front desk he said "how about if I just give you a wake up call." On the second night the clock reset itself to midnight when my alarm went off...severe malfunction, but it did get my attention. - Had to pay for wi-fi service (kind of annoying) and there was no free service in the lobby/common area (more annoying). All in all, though, it was a great value through Venere for a prime downtown DC location. Just a ten minute walk (or less) to the Newseum, National Gallery of Art, Portrait Gallery, City Segway Tours, Gallery/Chinatown Metro stop and lots of good restaurants.

The hotel is in a great location (border of Chinatown) being near the intersection of 2 major metro lines and has 3 restaurants (Chinese, Japanese and Thai)right across the road. The rooms are a good size, basic and clean and are what you would expect for a Red Roof Inn. Washington is very very expensive so the price we got for this hotel was very good value for money. I would recommend it as a good clean basic base for Washington.

I've been in this hotel 3 nights and I think that the room was big, clean and really comfortable.

Within walking distance to Mall. Subway station two blocks away. My only reservation is about the front office person who advised us against Supershuttle the nigt before we left, and the car he ordered (a)turned out to be more expensive and (b) we could hardly fit in with all our bags.

The location was good, the hotel was relatively busy, an older building but kept up well. I was not inpressed with the professionalism of the front desk staff. I booked with Venere online and extended my stay by one night at the hotel. I was quoted a higher price for the extra day than what I paid the previous four days but when I checked out I was charged $20 higher than the quote. The person checking me in the first night was slow and gave me an incorrect parking garage code. Parking and Internet access is extra.

Hotel is besides China Town, not far away from the Mall, where is possible arrive by foot. Verizon Center is also very near, and there is a Subway Station only three minutes away by foot. Everything was right. There is a car park avalaible, after paying 20US$ by night. It is possible taking the car from there some hours after leaving the room. Breakfast is not served by the hotel. Otherwise, there is a restaurant in the lobby.

dommage que les taxes ne soient pas comprises dans le prix à la base ce qui augmente au final le prix de la chambre un peu trop à mon goût

Great price and location. Had to stay in a smoking room (yuck) first night because of plumbing problems in other rooms. People at the desk were really busy, but very helpful when you could get them free.

Easy to get around from this hotel - near Metro, restaurants, DC mall and all of the museums, etc. In Chinatown. Near churches, grocery store (some walking required), Starbucks! Wear comfy shoes - once at the mall, lots of walking!!! (This is not a shopping mall). The whole DC experience is in a 2 mile radius. I travelled with my 13 yr. old son. He loved it!! Do your research first to know where everything is. Most everything is free in the mall area - side streets offer museums for a fee (The Spy Museum, The Museum of Crime and Punishment (my son and I both loved this one!), Ford's Theatre, etc.

Decent Hotel in Downtown. Not 5 stars but great for the price in DC.Quiet and clean.Price is fair compared to other hotels in the area.Good neigborhood, even at night.Lots of people walking in the streets at night so I felt secure.Walking Distance to Metro Station, food and Pharmacy was 2 blcks away and bus stop was across the street. Would recommend to anyone.

Hotel very well situated to visit washington. Many possibilities to eat for the dinner in the area. Spacious and clean rooms. The only negative point is the breakfast not included in the price and very expensive in the pub belongings to the hotel. You have a buffet in 50 meters cheaper and best.

This is an excellent location for events at the Verizon Center - just perfect! Except for the parking garage being full and the itsy bitsy toiletries, I wouldn't have known I wasn't in a hotel that would be double or triple the price. The staff was very welcoming and the room was nice. We would stay at only this hotel next time we're coming into DC for an event at the Verizon Center. Thanks!

Very close to the Metro, many theatres, and great restaurants. Within walking distance of the Smithsonians, Spy Museum, Newseum, and Museum of Crime and Punishment. Great Irish Pub on site. The only negative was after day five, I had to ask housekeeping to change our sheets.

We stayed at this property for a week. Property did not have our reservation on arrival. Despite this, by showing our Venere reservation to the manager on duty, they honored our reservation and room rate. We could not get into a handicapped room (for my travel partner) until the second night. Despite this, staff was pleasant and efficient. Hotel is not in a great section of town. We found many panhandlers. The Chinatown Metro stop is about 2 blocks away down a major street, and the Metro personnel were very helpful in telling us where the hotel was and how to get around town. Restaurant on first floor of hotel (Irish pub style) was good, and offered some nice UK style beverages not normally available in US. Property had some elevator issues while we were there; suggest staying in a room on a lower floor, just in case. "Handicapped bathroom" was a tub with a swing-down seat and a hand-held shower. Serviceable, but not a full "Walk-in/roll-in" shower as we'd hoped. The swing-down seat was coming loose from the wall, and the bathroom needed to be repainted. Alarm clock did not work, they replaced on the second day. Be aware the hotel charges an OPTIONAL $1.50 per day "insurance fee" for the in-room safe. They will take it off your bill if you ask, but you have to know to ask.

Very well located, in the city center of Washington (sights may be reached by walking). In the evening people around the hotel (NOT in the hotel!!!), especially near the metro station and McDonald's were a little bit strange ;) but not aggressive. Hotel itself is a very good middle class hotel with a perfect relationship between price and quality! I can recommend it to everybody. Staff at the front desk was very polite and helpful!!! If I went to Washington again, Red Roof Inn would be my first choice.

The room was small. NO FREE BREAKFAST. THE television set was from the 1990's. Location was good. I like the fact that we could keep our luggage with the front desk during our check out.

Location is perfect especially for Chinese as close to China Town where there are many Chinese restaurant. At the same time, Safeway supermarket is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel where you can buy drink and snacks easily from early morning to midnight. Museums and attractive area are 20 minutes walk from hotel so we don't have to take taxi.

perfect price for DC hotels. Located at downtown/ chinatown. close to lots of restaurants and bus/ subway. The hard wood floor in the bathroom really surprised me! They have everything you need in the room for a business trip. Only drawback is no complimentary internet.

I booked with Venere at $99 per night and the hotel was forwarded a rate of $119 per night. They fixed the situation with no problem, but if I hadn't double checked, I never would have known.
