Nice, clean, confortable although standardized hotel. We got free parking in a small court behind the hotel but I guess it is because there were few customers (late december); less than a dozen cars could fit in that court. The breakfast was not bad, but it was very expensive for what it was (25 francs for one person), that is to say the usual coffee, bread and butter with some slices of cheese and ham to give the feeling of abundancy. Also, the welcoming at our arrival really lacked a smile ; definitely a confusion between classy and snotty among the employees.

In general, our stay was pleasant and the room was clean and spacious. However, we ended on a bad note with the morning brunch that was 25 Euro a person and not worth it at all. The food was almost completely gone or cold and we were never told the cost until check out. Also, the exercise room left a lot to be desired - one treadmill that made a horrible noise, no TV, one bike that would not work and a central strengthening machine. It would not have been an issue given that there are plenty of places to roam in the city, except that it was raining for a significant portion of our stay.

How to reach Ramada Hotel La Palma au Lac
By car
Take the A2 highway, and get off at Bellinzona Süd heading for Locarno. Cross the Magadino plateau, and continue towards Locarno A13. After about 9.5 miles/15 km you will arrive to the hotel.
By train
From Locarno train station: Ramada Hotel La Palma au Lac is about 0.3 miles/500 meters away. Go towards the lake, and then to the Lido.
By airplane
From the Milano Malpensa Airport (Italy): a shuttle bus to Bellinzona is running every hour. From there, take the Bellinzona-Locarno train, running every 25 minutes.
From the Agno Airport (lug): take a taxi to Locarno (the ride costs about CHF 150.00), or take the shuttle bus to Lugano train station. From there, you have to get to Bellinzona, and get on the train to Locarno.
