Quality Hôtel du Nord - Dijon - Dijon

We spent two nights at the Hotel du Nord and would recommend it. Our room was smallish but sufficient and had a nice view of the Place Darcy. Fittings in the room were new and well looked after. Double glazed windows meant it was quiet inside, and we didn't hear much from our neighbours. The location was convenient, less than 10mins from the trains and very close to town. Staff were lovely, though the wine bar downstairs was a little understaffed and smelt a little odd. So we went out and enjoyed Dijon instead!

Room was much smaller than expected. The bathroom was extremely small and the plumbing was inadequate. The room was very noisy with both outside and hallway noise. I would not recommend this hotel. Very poor value for the price of the room.

I was disappointed in this hotel. The room was so tiny. But pricewise I guess it was about in line with French hotel prices. I paid 95Euros as I recall. There was no lobby either.

Altogether I did not consider the hotel great. Excellent location and great restaurant, but the room was tiny, breakfast on Sunday a bit disappointing (no fresh bread) and in my room the heating did not work. Staff were very polite and I was immediately provided with an electric small heater, but this could not replace normal heating, as it was one of those used to heat bathrooms (they fill the room with warm air). The price was not so low for a three-star hotel, which did not meet my expectations completely.

I was very impressed with the service we received. The petit d'juner was very tasty and fresh; and the servers were attentive to our needs. I'm looking forward to returning.
