The room was on the small side and only had one small window which was set quite high, so that my wife had to stand on the window cill to see out. The view anyway was only of a run-down building evidently awaiting development, and several tall cranes. I think that we could have found a hotel of more character in a more interesting area, up near the Opera perhaps.

I had booked for 2 adults requesting a room with two twin beds or a bigger double, but somehow my reservation turned up for a single bed standard room upon checking in. They were pretty full, but was able to accommodate us with another single room for the night, then able to move to another room the next night, and only charging for the original room rate (of two people) rather than another single standard room rate on top. We decided to stay an extra night, and they were very accommodating, despite being quite full, and we were able to stay in the same room an extra night. Am satisfied with the service. Great central location. Many shops and restaurants nearby hotel. Caution though, if you do drive, the hotel is in a pedestrian area, and thus you'll have to park in a parkade or street nearby and walk 5-10 minutes with your luggage to the hotel.

Unfortunately the staff was not too attentive. No coffee was provided in our room and when I requested some, the maid could not give it to me. She sent me to reception who never responded. Both the couple we traveled with and other guests complained of a lack of hot water in the shower and the internet was somewhat sporadic. Additionally, parking is problematic and it would be helpful if the hotel advised on its website that streets are closed off and offered advice on where to park.

Everything was OK. Good location in the city centre. Very convenient to get everywhere. Unfortunately sometimes there is some noise coming from the pedestrian street at night (drunk people shouting, etc.). The window provide a good but not perfect isolation. Room very clean. Pay attention that the entrance is not exactlyt on Sainte Cathrine street but in a lateral , i.e. Rue du du Parlement Sainte Catherine.

sadly the hotel was being refurbished so there was dust around - one glass door was boarded up there was plastic sheeting on the carpets - the pillows were dreadful and the quilt did not fit in the cover properly - apart from that it was ok - wont stay there again!

This is a great hotel to stay at if you want to be in the centre of things. This also means that it is in the pedestrianised area and it was a bit tricky parking in a main car park and then finding the hotel on foot with bags. Once there, it was fine. We didn't eat breakfast there but found the rooms comfortable.

This hotel is located nearly center of the city, so it was really convenient. Breakfast was also nice!! Although it was no problem during our taking shower, we had small water leakage from bathtub to floor in the bathroom. After taking shower, we had to wipe the water every time...Other than the above, everything was confortable!! (as of Sep/2009)

The hotel has the feeling of an American chain hotel (no surprise there), except that the rooms are very small. Rooms are decently appointed, but furnishings and bath show signs of aging. Also, beware there is no car access, the hotel is located on a pedestrian street in centre ville.

We really enjoyed our stay - the hotel is in the best location for Bordeaux. We were incorrectly advised prior to arriving that we could not drive our rental car to the hotel to drop off our luggage. This was very inconvenient and incorrect as we could have dropped our luggage prior to parking the car in the parking station (500 yards away).

Spacious room, however split bathroom not convenient & tub a little high to step in, like t.v. & channels, like very large windows and little seating area & vanity area, odd little dial for doorknob need a little caution/tackling to use, hallway smelled bad :( (probably from old red carpeting), tradeoff for good location is a bit of noise into late night (use earplugs). There is only one front desk staff, so check-in/out can be really slow depending on who's ahead of you - & don't forget to ask for free wifi password. No need to spend much time at hotel as restaurants (and tons of shopping) are just outside. Overall decent price for basic offering & location.

The hotel is situated slap bang in the middle of the pedestrian area of Bordeaux, which means its easy to get to any of the sites that you might like to visit in the city. Add this to the fact that it is relatively cheap, and the rooms are clean and pleasant, and you have a place that cannot be beaten for a weekend stay in Bordeaux.

The hotel is ideally situated and the rooms are comfortable. However, it should be avoided on weekends. There is entirely too much street noise on Friday and Saturday nights-with loud and drunken singing until 3:30 am! Noise is not a problem during the week. The advertised internet access in the lobby was not working. The front desk staff varied; some were not really English speaking and some were not at all helpful.

A great central location, which is terrific once you are there. Getting there, or to a car parking station, is the challenge! Pleasant desk staff - they allowed me to use the office computer when the only guest internet access wasn't working. The room is fine, but the bathroom tired and in need of an update. The linoleum-floored toilet smelled unpleasantly of stale urine - tiling the floors would solve that problem, I think. A frequent whinge - why do hotels have any steps at all? Most people have luggage on wheels, and it would be fairly simple to put in a small ramp on part of a short flight of stairs, instead of having guests lugging bags up and down. This hotel has 3 or 4 steps between the entrance and the desk.

Like most other hotels on venere.com, a better map is needed for the hotel location. The hotel decor is dated. The pictures on the internet are a little misleading. Rooms are small. Biggest problem was that we set-up for a wake-up call one morning. We received the call an hour prior to when we requested. We went downstairs to confirm what time it was and there was nobody there. We were able to confirm the time (by the lobby clock) and went back to sleep. When we came back down later, I explained what happened to the clerk and he did not care. I told him there might be a problem with their system and that he needed to check into it so that other customers would not have this problem.

This hotel is in a great location in the centre of Bordeaux, just off the main street of shops. Location is excellent and the room was more than adequate, with a large bed and a plasma TV. We had breakfast on one morning and it was pretty good - lots of crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, hams, cheese, bread and croissants - make sure you eat your fill for 12Euros a go! I would prefer to stay at this hotel than many of the others near the station as the station is a bit too far from the centre of town.

I was unimpressed with the quality and standard of this hotel. It is need of major refurbishment and redecorating. While some of the staff were friendly and helpful not all were and there was quite a dismissive attitude when there was a question that was not easily answered. I also was very surprised at the stale smell that pervaded the hall and would most certainly not recommend this hotel to my friends.

Visit was marred by incompetence of male receptionist who checked us in. I wasn't sure if breakfast was included in price so he checked and confirmed that it was. On checking out we discovered that it wasn't included!! We were told that that particular receptionist had caused the hotel a lot of problems (nothing about causing customers problems!!) by telling visitors crazy things! We did have one day's charges deducted, eventually, but it soured our visit to Bordeaux. Apart from that incident, we enjoyed our stay: the hotel is centrally located, ideal for shopping, walking, dining, drinking etc. Not ideal for car parking as much of the area is pedestrianised. Would go back to Bordeaux, but not to this hotel.
