On the positive side, they have big rooms and the hotel position is good. On the negative side, our room had bed bugs and sheets with burned holes. I was showed another room as well, which was really stinky. The internet is available though a computer which broke down and thus I was not able to use my prepaid card. The people at the reception were not very knowledgeable (they didn't know the usual price for a taxi, closest pharmacy opened on Sunday (which was actually on a parallel street, close to the hotel), they didn't had maps or transport cards etc.).

We were amazed at the value for money this place offered for an ensuite room in a capital city. Rooms had double and bunk beds in each (we were 2 couples). Newly installed bathrooms - no view - just of back of other rooms. Pension is well located just round the corner from the Metro and a Pingo Doce Supermarket with coffee, fresh orange juice, filled roll and a cake for 1Eu 50! Rooms on 3rd floor and no lift so not for the faint hearted but they were quiet and clean.

We got nice room (even two rooms) with even 3 windows to street, but I think that we have luck about it. Some of rooms don't have any outside window... We stay there for 4 nights.

From Portela Airport: From the Carris bus stop take bus number 83 in the direction of Amoreiras or the number 91, 44 45 in the direction of Cais Do Sodré. Get off at the stop called Picoas, walk along Rua Tomas Ribeiro. Take the third road on your right onto Rua Filipe Folque. Continue to number 19 where you will see The Residencial Marisela Guest House on the left.
By public transport
From Santa Apolónia train station: From the Carris bus stop take bus number 746 in the direction of Damaia. Get off at Estacao Av. Antonio Augusto De Aguiar. Take the first right onto Rua Filipe Folque. Continue to number 19 where you will see The Residencial Marisela Guest House on the left. Alternatively you can take bus number 90 in the direction of Entre Campos. Get off at the stop called Picoas walk along Rua Tomas Ribeiro. Take the third road on your right onto Rua Filipe Folque and folow the above instruction.
From Oriente train station: From the Carris bus stop take bus number 44 in the direction of Cais Do Sodré and follow the above instructions. Alternatively you can take the underground, red line in the direction of Estacao Da Alameda then change to the green line where possible in the direction of Campo Grande, get off and change to the yellow line in the direction of Estacao Do Rato. Once on the yellow line, get off at Estacao Das Picoas. Walk along Rua Tomas Ribeiro and follow the above instructions.
From Sete Rios station: From the Carris bus stop take bus number 746 in the direction of St. Apolonia. Get off at Estacao Av. Antonio Augusto De Aguiar and follow the above instructions. Alternatively you can take the underground, blue line in the direction of Estacao Baixa/Chiado. Get off at Estacao Do Parque, take the first left, then the first right onto Rua Filipe Folque. Continue to number 19 where you will see The Residencial Marisela Guest House on the left.
