Rooms facing the street are extremely noisy. We couldn't get much sleep even with closed windows and drawn curtains. And keep in mind that there is no air conditioning. On the plus side the location is very central, close to all atractions and facilities.

it is very cheap but they dont have elevator or lift and it is on 4th floor so you have to carry your stuff up. it is very dirty. they dont speak english or french or german. it is very noisy. you dont have to go any where to listen to live music, you can hear it from your own room. pay a bit more but stay some where else. pictures of room on the site is not the same as room

The pensao in a good location, pedonal area, near many restaurant and metro station. The room was very clean. I think the only problem can be in august if there is no air conditioned.

For the price the location was exceptional - right in the heart of the restaurant district with a balcony overlooking the bustling street. OK, so the room was tiny but it was perfectly clean...what more do you need?

I was looking for a very economic place in the heart of Lisbon and a private bathroom - and I found it! The rooms are very simple (typical for the south of Europe - I like this!), the bed (for me as a single traveller) was a almost double and really good one - I slept like a queen! The atmosphere is familiar, the rooms are cleaned every day (I didn't expect it for this price!), the 2 older ladies are speaking only portuguese (but with hands and legs you can handle it :-) but the night receptionist helped me with tips for taking fotos on special places - the whole stuff was very nice and kindly. I would go there again!!!

i really think you need to get someone who works for venere to stay at this place. I have stayed at some crazy backpacking places in my travels but this place was the worst. The owners were very very rude and totally incompetent. You should not have this place on your web site as it brings venere down. I will use Venere again as it was very good and easy to use and navigate.

Spaciousness room with balcony and good light. No big problem with noise. Clean. Cheap. The only problem: the smell of rosty chicken, but with closed windows was ok.

Great value for money in great location. Most of the staff spoke little English, although they understood Spanish just fine. They were very nice. Typical old style pension, where the family lives in the building. Also, the customers at the electronics shop on the ground floor sometimes got in the way of entering and exiting. Great central location at a great price.

ıts best quality is its location: right in the middle of the city centre. A good, basic hotel, with rooms that were clean and comfortable enough at the price and staff who were helpful despite not speaking English, or French or German or even Spanish for that matter!, but then I could always learn a bit of Portuguese. I would recomend it as a good budget option for Lisbon, which is a truly lovely city, to which I will definitely return one day, although hopefully I will be richer by then and able to afford a more upscale hotel!

We were very lucky and had a lovely room with bathroom. The location is fantastic and we felt the security was very good. The woman on reception was very sweet and efficient. The rooms without a full bathroom are a little small however the location and price make the pension very good value.

Opening the windows at night has been problematic because of the loud sound of the air-condition of the restaurants beside of the residencial and because of the strong smell of the restaurants nearby. But our room had no air-condition, so we had to open the windows ad night. Next time we will pay a bit more and stay beside the residencial in the bigger and very modern Hotel "Flor Da Baixa", because their rooms have air-condition, and the hotel has an elevator to the floors, and the breakfast-rooms is very comfortable.

very good location in the middle downtown, very noisy because of restaurants all around running untill deep night, free on-street parking possible nearby, breakfast not included (costs 5eur), old flat rebuilded into a hotel ready for renovation but still acceptable, no english speaking person but finally u can understant each other, 24hrs reception, no internet connection possible

Very good location, our room (behind the reception desk, in front of the entering door) was very small, whith a small double bed (while the bathroom was fine). From there we could hear noise from the street and people who entered or went out from the pension. Not very clean... If you want, you can have breakfast for 2.50 euros per person in Residencial Florescente, just asking the receptionist.

Perfect location. Small room (double) with big bathroom. Clean: towels and sheets were changed every day. Big windows to get some air in hot summer. Tiny balcony without any chairs on it. Good deal overall. Take your ear plugs with you if you don't sleep well, hotel was quiet, but the street was noisy all night long.

The hotel is conveniently located directly in the center near restauradores and Rossio Square. You can come back by foot after the buses and tram are closed from just about everywhere (Alfama, Baixa, Chiadoand Barro Alto). The rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. There is no breakfast included if you book with venere. The staff is very nice but cannot speak french or english. You can pay by credit card if you go to the sister hotel: "Residential Florescente" just a block away. There they speak english and will help you if you need to communicate with the staff for something. Also, it was possible at the Florescente to rent a parking space for 15 Euros when you're a customer of Flor de Baixa. A deal for Lisbon.

The Flor da Baixa is very conveniently located just down from one of the main stations (Rossio) on Restauradores square (there is a metro stop of the same name). The bus from the airport also stops here. Rooms were very clean and it was very quiet (although I could sleep through just about anything anyway). Not the cheapest for the single traveller but definitely as a couple this is one of the best options.

hotel is located in the center; close to metro and the sightseeing places; food around the hotel has touristic prices, but you can find good locations too; bus station 2min away; 2min walk from the aeroport bus (3€ from the airport - station restauradores); I can recommend the place!

This hotel is very inexpensive, and well worth the price. It is located so close to everything you might want on a street full of restaurants, right next to major metro, trams and buses (walking distance). This is definitely a budget hotel - a few flights of stairs with no elevators. It is the sister property of another hotel up the street and the other hotel is where you pay and process your stay. The rooms were clean and the view was great. Recommend for the money conscience traveller.

We stay in the property only one night. It was comfortable, clean and safe. The room was very small, but friendly. The location is nice, you need only one bus from the international airport to go there, but it is a little bit difficult to find the hostel in the street, because you must go into a staircase to the second floor to access it.

Room & bathroom are sufficient and clean all day, very fine! The house is in the middle of the pedestrian precinct, excellent! Personal is very friendly but not foreign spoken, only portugese, not fine. It was an excellent stay! The prices are invincible. So the trip is to repeat....

The Pension is ideally situated in the centre of Lisbon and is easy to get to from Praca de Restauradores. The quoted number of the building does not correspond to the sequence in the street though! Our room, en suite, had a double and single bed, a large bathroom (with twin basins, hand-held shower in bath - but no bath or basin plugs so take your own). For such a busy area, the room was surprisingly quiet, with no outdoor noise filtering in at all. The only sounds were other guests in the foyer and the doorbell (the front door is kept locked). There was a tiny balcony, but a very poor view (rooftops and a slice of Restauradores). The room was spotlessly clean, towels changed every day. The street outside is very touristy - waiters pressuring (but not too much) to eat, the occasional soft-sell dealers ("hashish?") but it seemed safe enough. The non en-suite rooms did look a little on the small side. Good price for the location, well recommended.

Funky but charming area. Convenient Lisbon location. "Managers" didn't take credit cards as promised, but we could pay in the pension down the street"where we had breakfast." However, they had not told us about the breakfast the day before. And, rooms on second and third floors, no elevator. Also, avoid the eateries on that street! High pressure, high prices and poor food (compared to everywhere else in Portugal that we experienced.)
