The place was very clean, and the area it's in - friedrichshein - is wonderfully "original berlin". But that's pretty much all there is to it. It's a good place to stay if you speak German and all you're interested in is a clean, small bed to sleep in. The price is huge compared to no service provided: no english speaking staff AT ALL,reception hardly ever available.When available, reception staff is helpful (in German!)and friendly. A couple examples that might help you understand where you are: you're supposed to tell if you won't be bale to check in by 8pm. I called before arrival and had to manage a conversation in my EXTREMELY broken German, and apparently everything was ok regarding my arrival at 10pm. When we got thre, minutes before 10, the "hotel" was completely locked up and no one was anwering the phone or the doorbell. As I was desperate, I went in a Turkish bistro opposite the road to ask for info, and THEY HAD THE KEYS TO THE ROOM!!! Anyways, the area is lovely, if you're into the East Berlin thing, but you'll be able to find beds to sleep in for 13€ instead of 50 a night. Round New Years, we were asked by Insor over 300€ for a shared, 4-bed room...

I stayed in a double room that was actually a triple...it was very nice and clean, the only rpoblem was not to have a privet toilet, just the basin... In any case toilet were clean, even if to share between 4/5 room and one toilet was dedicated specifically to women. Pretty kind.

The bathroom was not in the room as indicated but outside, shared with other 3 rooms. The breakfast was not included, but the reservation page said the contrary. They asked me 5 Euros to have breakfast.

Great value and location. The only problems were a loud party upstairs one weekend night at 2 am (the top floors are privately owned, I guess?), a persistent odour problem in the bathrooms and the fact that they don't accept credit cards - which wasn't mentioned on the web page!

By car
From Airport Tegel: in direction Anschlussstelle Kurt-Schumacher-Platz, leave the expressway A105 at this junction, continue Abzweig Wedding in direction Berlin, make a left onto Kurt-Schumacher-Damm in direction Berlin, make a right onto Kapweg, right Scharnweberstraße, continue Müllerstraße, Chausseestraße, make a left onto Torstraße, then a right onto Rosenthaler Straße, continue on Weinmeisterstraße, Münzstraße, Memhardstraße, take the traffic circle and leave it at the second exit onto B1/B5 Karl-Marx-Allee, make a left onto Samariterstraße.
Total distance: 13,7 km.
Time: about 25 minutes.
By train
From the main train station: take the tramway S75 until Alexanderplatz. Change to the underground line 5 and get off at Samariter Straße station. Walk around 490 m., the pension is located behind the church.
By plane
From Schönefeld Airport: take the tramway S9 towards Westkreuz and get off at Ostkreuz. From there take the tramway S42 until Frankfurter Allee. Change to the underground line 5 and get off at Samariter Straße station. Walk around 490 m., the pension is located behind the church.
From Tegel Airport: take the bus X9 or TXL until Alexanderplatz. Change to the underground line 5 and get off at Samariter Straße station. Walk around 490 m., the pension is located behind the church.

METHODS OF PAYMENT
Venere.com does not debit your credit card for your reservations. You will be asked to insert your credit card details which will be sent to the property only as a guarantee of the reservation. The bill will then have to be settled directly at the hotel. In case your chosen hotel needs a deposit, this information will be included in the "Cancellation policy" section and the deposit will have to be settled directly with the pre-selected property. It is not possible to cancel your reservation if you selected and booked a room indicated as "PREPAID/NOT REFUNDABLE". In this case, the total amount of your stay will be charged to your credit card by the hotel at the time of booking.
CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT
Check-in: the rooms are available from 2 p.m to 8 p.m. Later arrivals are to be communicated. Check-ins later than 8 p.m. are made at the Bistro Samariter located just in front of the pension and open until midnight. Earlier arrivals are admitted from 10 a.m. on.
Check-out: it is necessary to leave the rooms not later than noon.
The reception is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Pets are admitted for an additional charge of €20,00 per day.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If cancelled or modified up to 3 days / 72 hours before date of arrival, no fee
