Fantastic location on the banks of the River Danube. You can sit in the bar and look out on the Hungarian parliament buildings across the river. A very pleasant stay, room larger than usual, modern bathroom, good food and drink facilities.

Wifi was miserable and finally would not work at all. A/C was unable to cool room below 25° C or 76° F. Others have been complaining about A/C in online commentary since warm day in March. Obviously management doesn't care. Requested a taxi to airport via named official company. Desk employees ignored my request and I had to deal with a very dishonest driver who obviously pays kickbacks to front desk employees.

Were it not for the faulty, noisy air conditioning system that made us miserable for three nights I would have rated this hotel fairly high. Beautiful views of Parliament and Matthias Church, convenient to tram and U-station, restaurants and bars within a block (including a good value seafood restaurant), interesting decor, decent (not great) restaurant and breakfast service. But if you complaint the first 3 nights about the AC problem and only get some response for your fourth and last night of your Leisure stay with your wife, you feel unappreciated, let alone continuously tired on account of not getting quality sleep.

The room was large and very comfortable. The only but is it was in the service area of the hotel, getting to the room was quite complicated (lots of back passages and staircases) and with machine background noise. When making the reservation they should say this, some people would not appreciate it, even though we got a very good price for the room.

Very nice hotel and one of the best we have stayed at, till date. Free internet, wifi and printing options and very nice rooms. Would have been better if they had breakfast at lower prices (was 14 euros per person). We did not try it and hence do not know if it was worth it. We were booked in one of the rooms away from the river and still got a very nice view of the church on the Buda side. Highly recommended place for stay!

I booked this hotel as a pre-paid special, and for the price I got a far nicer hotel than I would have anticipated. It was really rather luxurious. It was clean and comfortable. The service was very efficient, though rather business like (which is fine). Restaurant service was a little slow, but friendly enough. Breakfast, which cost extra, was definitely worth it in terms of the variety and quality of food on offer. I was placed in the back of the hotel, in the 18th century building. This was disappointing in terms of the views I might have had. But the room was extremely secluded and quiet. So, it worked well for me. The hotel is very convenient to the sights in the Castle district of Buda, but a little bit of a walk to the center of Pest or to the Gellert-Baths area of Buda. Still, for the traveler used to walking, it is certainly close enough to make the major sites on foot. Very good choice for me.

I would recommend the art'otel to anybody wishing to stay in Budapest. Great value hotel and very high quality through and through. Also very convenient to find when driving in Budapest as it's opposite the parliament building.

The hotel was perfectly situated the view of Pest spectacular. The people was very helpful and the Breakfast Great! for the value of 12 euros nobody can beat that price in town. My sister and I spent a beautiful time in Budapest due to the location of the hotel we could walk to Pest and the main streets without any problem. Also for the Hotel being in the Buda Side we could visit the Buda Castle on our own spare time. I highly recommend the hotel for my family and friends going to Budapest.

The art'otel is an essentially modern hotel on the left bank of the Danube in central Buda. It's very conveniently situated for tram and Metro travel, and is within easy walking distance of the historic Castle Hill which overlooks it to the rear. In spite of its location it is nevertheless quiet, thanks to excellent soundproofing. The staff are generally multi-lingual, pleasant and professional, and the standard of housekeeping in the rooms is unusually high. Breakfast is reasonably priced and of excellent quality. Although the hotel appears to be a popular venue for corporate events these were not obtrusive and I would be very happy to check in here again if I should return to Budapest in the future.

The views were incredible from the balcony looking over the river. But having said that, it was a distance to the major sites and restaurants.

We really enjoyed staying at art'otel. You are within walking distance to almost everything. The hotel has nice spacious rooms, but be prepared to get a room without a view of the river. The actual stay was good value for money, but the breakfast was overpriced - why not have breakfast at a cosy café on the other side of the bridge? And if you ask the hotel staff to order a taxi to drive you to the airport, you will get a 'hotel limo' which costs HUF 1.900m more than a normal taxi.

We were greeted at the desk with a "Happy Anniversary," since I'd e-mailed them a while back, with the reservation request, telling them that it was our 25th. And coming into the room, there was a bottle of red wine and 2 glasses! Everything was wonderful, and if you can, get room 423 - it looks out on the Danube (there's an extra charge for rooms that do that, but if you get up early, as we do, you'll see the sun rise right across the river, behind the government buildings. And it's very special). This was the end of our trip to Europe, and I wanted it to be a "get used to being back in the States" experience for the two of us - we'd gone to B & Bs throughout Italy, for 3 weeks - and, with the hot water coming on right away, the red wine, the excellent eat-all-you-can buffet, and the chance to mingle at the bar the night before with a Hungarian or other beer, it was just right! There are two hotels in this chain in Budapest, and I recommend this one because of everything, including that million dollar view!

NOT an Art Hotel as such so dont expect it to be a trendy boutique Design Hotel- more of a business style hotel and a bit bland as a result. Nice view of the river aspecially at night. Pleasant 15 mins walk to the evening action in town- although taxis and trams were right in front of the hotel. However close to the castle for daytime touristy stuff. Room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke despite a specific request for a non-smoking room. Hotel could not offer another room. Not bad. Not great.

We loved art'otel budapest! Our room looked out on the Danube and the Parliament building! The rooms were comfortable and almost too modern. If anything, the website doesn't give an accurate assessment of the hotel. We were surprised at how nice it was. The breakfast was complete and included! The front desk was helpful. A lot of tours seemed to stay there as it is part of a smaller American hotel chain. The late night party action is on the other side of the river (the Pest side) but we were directed to a nice restaurant up the hill from the hotel. The price was worth it.
