This Novotel is in an ideal location being just 5 minutes walk from Gdansk waterside old town. However the walk back in the dark is through street with derelict bomb sites and does not feel secure. The hotel had a problem providing milks with free tea and coffee. The tea bags and coffee were replenished daily but not the milk. We had to request it on 3 occasions during our 4 night stay. This is a small matter but one that niggles when the other basic things are good. The traffic was quite noisy in the bedrooms on the old town side. I imagine the bedrooms on the garden side might be quieter. Do not buy the breakfast - at PLN 45/9 GBP per person it is extortionate, and not necessary because there are many cafe's to breakfast nearby. Two minutes walk from the hotel towards the old town there is a lovely little cafe called 'A la Francaise' where you can get an excellent full breakfast French style for HALF the price. We would stay here again for the loction but eat breakfast out.

You get what you pay for - decent room, ordinary breakfast buffet, ok service. Nothing to complain about - but nothing to brag about. There is an odd smell in the reception area - smells like a leaking waste pipe. Not the most welcoming smell when entering a hotel

Central located hotel (4 min walk to main street in the old town) and the price is cheap! The hotel was renovated recently and has good standard. Good breakfast buffet! Staff is kind and competent. We will come back for shure!

Good central location, but the immediate surroundings are a bit forlorn. Asked for directions to the same chain hotel in Poznan, where I was heading, and was given a complete bum steer that involved a wasted, expensive taxi journey - was never told there are TWO Novotels in Poznan, one in the city and one out in the sticks, admittedly by a lovely lake!

Very good hotel. Centrally located for main square, main trains tation and main bus station. Very clean and modern hotel. Hotel agreed to give us a late check out on the day of departure. No safes in rooms. Must use safety deposit at reception. Overall, would recommend.
