Novotel Berlin Am Tiergarten - Berlin

Nice hotel by the Tiergarten.

This must be one of the most conveniently located hotel in Berlin. It is right across the road from Tiergarten S-bahn station, which is ideal if you're arriving in the city by train as it's just two stops from the central station. Rooms are furnished in a minimalist contemporary style and seem to be very well insulated; I didn't hear a sound! At €69 on Venere, the price was unbeatable. Breakfast is €19 extra, and the well-stocked buffet is available on Sunday mornings till 1pm, to cater for party-goers.

The hotel didn't have my venere reservation registered, and the people at the reception was very unfriendly. The offert of a city breakfast just disappear one day to another.

Lovely modern hotel with an s-bahn stop right on your doorstep. Very friendly staff with a plentiful breakfast. The spa is fantastic (and very quiet) with sauna, steam room, ice rubs etc. Would definetly recommend and would return.

Price-quality ratio is quite good. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. The location is quite good too as the centre of former West-Berlin (Bahnhof Zoo) lies within 10 minutes walking distance through a a popular public park (after half of the way you come past one of Berlin's most popular and oldest beer gardens, the "Schleusen Krug"). At Bahnhof Zoo you'll find an abundance of shops (amongst them the famous KDW), restaurants and the transfer bus to the airport (Tegel - 20 minutes ride). In between the Hotel and the Brandenburg Tor lies the vast Tiergarten Park where you can go jogging before or after business. As the hotel lies right beside the S-Bahn (rapid transit) station Tiergarten, all major sights of Berlin are within minutes of reach. The only very minor downside: the buffet lunches and dinners were o.k. but nothing special; OTOH, catering supplied for coffee breaks at business meetings in the hotel meeting rooms was amongst the best I have seen so far.

Excellent hotel with a good location. I had booked two rooms and the reception misunderstood the booking from Venere, so they charged us dobble rate, but we sorted it out. One travel companion got a better rate booking directly with the hotel, but I did not have to pay for no show when I missed the flight and came in 1 day later than the booking.

The only issue that raises some criticism is the small space for clothes; the cabinets are rather small for the items of two persons.
