Excellent hotel with a location very close to the town center. Amazing Breakfast buffet!!!!!!!! Also for people traveling from Rome to Sienna, the Bus drops you off literally right outside the hotel door. The staff was also very helpful in finding out bus/train information for the next morning and making a late night dinner suggestion.

Hotel located just close to the center of the town. Room very modern and spacious , good breakfasts. the only 2 bad points are:1/ very bad quality of welcoming and help at the reception desk and no car park(you have to pay 15 euros per a night at the city parking because all car park is forbiden in this area of the town.

Great hotel in a great location. Easy walk to the Piaza de Campo and Duomo. Bus terminal is right across the street for those coming in from Florence via bus. Rooms were much nicer than others that we stayed in while in Italy.

Recently upgraded rooms very clean but no facilities. For a 4* hotel very poor, grudging, bad tempered staff with no idea of service.....more like prisonstaff....they seem to think they're in a position of authority over their guests......very common in Italy

Location was perfect, right at the central bus station. We got off the bus from Rome and walk across the street to the hotel.Check in was quick and efficient.I think we were upgraded to the 5th floor overlooking the bus station and a view of the rooftops of Siena and the countryside beyond. The room was spacious, very clean and modern with a plasma tv.The bathroom has up to date fittings and functional. The staff was friendly. We did not use the hotel's,facilities as we were out the whole day. The hotel was about 10 minute walk to the Campio. So even though it was not right in the centre, it was very near. To us it was ideal. The express bus stopped and picked up passengers right opposite the hotel. In fact we waited for the bus in the hotel lobby. WE had a pleasant stay and will definitely stay there in the future.

I have been to Siena several times in the past and decided this time to stay in this hotel quite simply for it's central location, my only gripes are the lack of parking, although it is right opposite the bus stop in town, the train station is a 20min walk. The rate, while reasonable, I though could have been better given the time of year, overall though no real complaints, clean, friendly and very central.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. The room was attractive and clean and comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent, as were the breakfasts. The other guests were also fun. It's a large hotel with all the amenities--but it's not quaint and interesting. We found some of the staff at the reception desk unfriendly and dismissive.--Siena was a revelation and a delight.

My room did not have internet access, despite what the hotel staff told me when I bought my "internet credits" (and despite a sign in my room claiming I was in a "Wi-fi area"). I had to connect in the lobby, which was ok for a one-night stay, but I would not do for longer than that.

I stayed in the Jolly Excelsior for 2 nights in September 2007. I travelled from Florence to Siena via bus which stopped straight outside the Jolly hotel. The entrance to the hotel was very modern and clean but due to this did not have much atmosphere and seemed clinical rather than cosy. The staff seemed wooden. Our room was very modern; the bathroom was very spacious with a very large shower cubicle. Our room was on the front of the hotel so views not so good, also heard the weekly Market being setup in the early hours. I would recommend asking for a room at the back of the hotel with view of the football ground. There was alot of choice at Breakfast. Bar was also non atmospheric. If I stayed in Siena again I would opt to stay in a more traditional italian hotel as this felt more like the type of hotel one would use on business. Location of hotel very good, easy walk into the centre of Siena.

This was a very nice modern hotel located a stones throw from the heart of old Siena. Rooms of good size with an excellent bathroom. Beds a little on the firm side. Superb choice at breakfast with plenty of choices of hot and cold options. Food in the restaurant is way over priced with much better choices available in town so I wouldn't eat in the hotel. Everything else was more than satisfactory. Watch out though. The night barman has no idea how to make a Bloody Mary!

The location of the hotel was nice. Sienna is a small town so it only takes 10 minutes to walk to the central area (Il Campo). It's also behind the soccer stadium and we arrived the night a game was going on. It was fun but after awhile the noise got old. The hotel was a decent size, considering that many european hotels are small. It was modern and quiet. The negatives to the place was the main front desk guy (or GM) who seemed like a french character - snooty and bothered by your presence and questions! The breakfast was mediocre - the eggs did not seem/taste like real eggs. Finally, we were never able to get an Internet connection from our room. I think for the price it was a decent value (especially if you are sharing the cost with a friend as I was).

This was my first time at at the Jolly. I was familiar with the location in Siena, and chose it for ease to access to the Palio. I am still trying to get accustomed to not haveing two double beds when traveling anywhere in Europe, and the size of the rooms. Overall, the experience was nice. The renovation in the last year was great. Hard to find a hotel with a fair rate and proximity to the activities. I hope the Jolly continues to keep the rates somewhat affordable.

Excellent location. Room and bathroom were modern and tastefully decorated. Excellent breakfast buffet. Good value for the money. Francesca at the front desk was very welcoming and helpful! Unfortunately our stay here was not the best. The customer service was very poor. The air conditioning would turn on, run for 5 seconds and shut off, then 15 seconds later turn back on and shut off 7 seconds later. We called down and was told the AC was working and then was hung up on. In the morning we took our showers and basically flooded the bathroom with water since there was no shower door. Upon leaving we asked whether there was supposed to be a door and they said yes - it had broken and the new one was on order. No apologies or anything. We brought up the AC again and explained what it was doing again and the man said that doesnt sound right and they would take a look. The service at this hotel was unfortunately horrible. We would not stay at Jolly hotels again.

Everything with the hotel was fine given the type of hotel and price. My only problem is with Venere. It would be nice to be able to book a double bed on your site for a single person. That's a feature that seems to be more unique in EMEA for visitors from the U.S. and is maybe something which can be approved. Jolly was sufficient for what it offered.

We have stayed at this hotel in Siena on 6 separate foreign holidays in the last 15 years. This year, the hotel has definitely benefitted from the renovation work which is now almost complete. The recently refurbished bedrooms are superb - a definite improvement. Only one plea for future changes - PLEASE pipe in Sky News (English) so that there is an alternative to CNN!

This is a fine hotel for one or two nights but the rooms really lack character and charm. As my travelling companion said, they are plastic. A room you could find anywhere in the world. This hotel is overpriced for what you get. You are better off to find something closer to the center of town. I did appreciate the fact that the bus for Rome could be caught right across the street instead of just the train station. I will say that the shower was large and the breakfast excellent for Italy.

We were more than happy with the Jolly Hotel in every way. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were among the quietest we have ever stayed in. We have stayed here now on a number of occasions and have always been pleased. It is within easy walking distance of Il Campo and the Enoteca and, if you are a footy fan, it backs on to the ground of Siena football club. You can get a ringside seat at a Serie A match for nothing!

The hotel is old and in need of restoration, especially the carpeting in our bedroom. Staff was not outgoing--never smiled--and made me feel that I was a bother to them. Also, not very helpful in terms of helping me find a place to park my vehicle. If you have a car, you are completely on your own, although there is a public parking facility within walking distance. Compared to other comparably-priced hotels we stayed in during our two visit to Italy, I would put this one at the bottom of the list.

At check-in we thought we were registering for an Adams family reunion. Hotel location is good, 10 minutes walk from Il Campo. Hotel decor was probably fashionable in 1970 when it was last renovated. On requesting assistance for car parking was told to drive outside city walls and find on street parking which may or maynot cost money! Overall for €99 per room hotel is reasonable value.

Very good hotel, especially for the price. We paid only 99 euros for a double and this was during Palio festival week. The staff was very welcoming. Most know English or are happy to try and understand your pitiful attempts at Italian. Only problem was are room was right above the university's track field and construction was being done. Although the windows kept most of the noise out in the morning it still woke us up. But I'm sure if there was no construction it would have been very peaceful. We heard no commotion from any other rooms. Also if you eat in the restaurant, try the gelato di frutti it is very very very good. (Any flavor) **The best part of all is its location to the main bus station. We got off our bus from Siena and boom there was the hotel, maybe 15 steps away.

Even though the Hotel Jolly was well situated a short walk from the Campo our room was disappointing. We were stuffed into a horrible room in the basement of the hotel next to the hotel utilities. Well, it's not exactly a friendly little Italian albergo, but for a big corporate hotel, it's fine. Mere steps away from the main bus area, which is quite convenient. Bathroom was a bit dingy, but otherwise the room was quite nice. I spoke Italian to the desk staff, they replied in English, we were all perfectly happy. Breakfast buffet was our first of the trip, and was actually something of a nice change from picking up cornetti every morning in bars.

Double no smoking requested. Twin smoking allocated. Transferred to double smoking following request. Although we discovered there is a floor of 'no smoking'none offered. Room was adequate, but too warm. We visited in May and the air conditioning was not turned on yet. The only way we could cool the room off was to open the windows, which allowed a lot of street noise to enter the room. When asked the desk clerk the next day, he stated the heat was on that night, but did not offer to remedy the problem. Even the maids were complaining of the heat.
