Hotel NH Jolly Midas - Rome

Was travelling with my wife. Met a restaurant employee (female) who showed us how to reach the front door of the hotel by climbing the stairs, as we had not arrived by taxi but by bus. Breakfast was excellent, shuttle to center of Rome was good but took time to get through traffic on narrow streets. The restaurant was very expensive and there was a special one for groups which was not clearly marked, so when I asked if we could eat there the maitre d' was a little annoyed. Bathroom was nice but the hand towels were very thin and there were no washcloths to wash with. Hotel and Via Aurelia seemed to be unknown at the Termini Station, where we had gone from the Fumicino airport, until a lady at an agency showed us exactly how to take the subway and then the bus (#246, I believe).

Hotel very comfortable, spacious rooms with every comfort, with a balcony view. Located in the Aurelia, convenient for those traveling by car (parking included in the price) is for those who want to use the excellent bus service (I think one of the few hotels in Rome, which offers this service). Continental breakfast is excellent, staff very professional, courteous and helpful. Excellent price. Recommended.

We spent three nights at this hotel over the Christmas holiday. The hotel was in full operation during the holiday. The hotel is located outside of the historical center of Rome,but the shuttle bus the hotel offered was great. The breakfast was very good and offered a nice variety including scrambled eggs. The staff was friendly and helpful. I thought the cost of internet connection was too expensive. 10 euros for an hour.

Convenient, Frequwnt Shuttle Bus to the Centre, Good Breakfast, Good location to be reached from the motorway, Location itself quite "isolated". Got 2 spacious Double Rooms with a door in between as Quadruple. Parking for free. Overall: GOOD !

The rooms in the hotel need some up-dating...new wallpaper...new rugs (or at least a thorough cleaning).Breakkfast was excellent. Staff was helpful.....the shuttle bus into Piazza Cavour was excellent and punctual....lots of options from where you are dropped off.

Hotel & Service (Room & Restrauant) Staff were friendly and helpful. Front desk staff were discourteous, couldn't be bothered talking with you, often left you waiting at reception while they played with paperwork and when they acknolegded you it was abrupt and unfriendly as if you werre distractibg them from "real work". ONly one lady volunteered infomration, the rest of the staff especially the men gave you one-liners and no hints.

I made a reservation at this hotel in January 2007. My reservation was confirmed a week before our arrival. I even had them arrange for a 'car' to pick us up at the airport. However when we arrived, after a 20 hour travel/flight, we were told that they had 'overbooked' and were sending us to another hotel in the area. We were too tired to argue with them but were horribly disappointed at this turn of events. I've never had this treatment before from any hotel that we've visited.

Hôtel d'un excellent rapport qualité/prix. Situé à quelques kilomètres du centre-ville de Rome. Centre-ville facile d'accès grâce à un service de navette gratuit impeccable! Idéal pour ceux qui ne veulent pas conduire dans le centre-ville de Rome. Très grand choix dans le buffet petit déjeuner.

A good, well appointed, four star hotel with all the mod-cons although in need of minor redecoration in some areas. Situated on via Aurelia, a sort of circular road around Rome it is within 20 mins of both airports. Getting into Rome was easy using the courtesy bus that runs almost hourly (15 minute trip) with a last pickup from central Rome at 23:30. Swimming pool was nice to come back to after a days sight-seeing. Breakfast was the standard hotel fare.

very good business hotel for a good price, about 5 miles out of the center of rome (vatikan). The big sport pool (25m) is good for cooling down on a hot roman day. Regular (every hour) bus shuttle to center of town, if you miss it a taxi will cost araound 10 euro. There are restaurants in the hotel, but the real italien style you will find in the city. the hotel is close to the highway but the noise protection is good. Would stay at this hotel on my next trip to rome to.

Our stay at the Hotel Jolly Midas Rome was very disappointing. Our triple room was really a double with a cot rolled in making what small spare room we had even smaller. The patio door locked hence no fresh air. The pool was off limits as signs stated "closed for maintenance' but in the 5 days we were there no workman on site. Could not even sit on grass near pool. The staff were unhelpful, uninformed and disinterested in their guests. The shuttle service to the city was unreliable, the driver was a lunatic. Had to pay for taxi several times when shuttle left before designated times.

Professional from start to finish and impressed with hotel staff. hotel shuttle bus to and from the city was great time and money saver. This was a very pleasant begining to our trip.

the hotel is very nice. Just i heard people of other rooms at night screaming outside and in the early morning noises of workers of hotel. Service is good but when i had dinner i didn't understand what i could eat couse they didn't explane me well

Hotel was as discribed and reasonably clean and tidy. More of a business hotel with regular coach parties using it as a stopover point. Free bus service to and from the city was excellent.

Everything was perfect. The hotel is about 12 km from Downtown. The taxi costs about 15 EUR from downtown to the hotel. There is a hotel bus (free of charge, plenty space) each hour from the hotel to downtown and back from 8:15 am to 23:30 pm. That's great. And a great breakfast buffet. I was the organiser of an incentive travel to Roma for 4 days for 6 employes of my swiss company. I can recommend this hotel without any restriction.

Ich war mit einer Gruppe von 7 Mitarbeitern (Frauen/Männer) meiner Firma in diesem Hotel. Mit selber haben die 4 Tage sehr gut gefallen, und auch von meinen eingeladenen Mitarbeitern habe ich nur positives Echo gehört. Es gibt zwar eine Schnellstrasse in der Nähe, aber man hört sie kaum. Das Hotel wirkt modern und gut erhalten. Und als Schweizer haben wir hierbei nicht geringe Qualitätsansprüche. Ein Super Frühstücksbuffet. Die Taxifahrt vom Blligairline-Flughafen Ciampino dauert bei 180 km/h über die Autobahn rund 20min und kostet 60 EUR. Fiumincino wäre näher. Es hat ca. stündlich einen kostenlosen Hotelbus ins Zentrum (Nähe Engelsburg), welcher von 08:15 bis 23:30 fährt und immer noch sehr viele freie Plätze hatte. Wir 7 Personen waren wirklich alle sehr zufrieden und ich habe Mühe zu verstehen, wie einzelne andere auf ein tiefes Rating gekommen sind.

pretty far from the center of rome shuttle service provided a couple times each day dont' expect to get any help if you can't get on the last shuttle because there are too many people on the bus. they will leave you in the center of rome! cab ride back is about 15 euro. some of the bus drivers will let you stand on the bus, but those that don't will just leave you behind other than the bus, the hotel is nice. good breakfast that's included. swimming pool

The hotel is several km. away from the city centre but they provide an excellent shuttle service into town.For those travelling by car there is a big carpark.On the whole a very recommandable hotel.

The front desk was freindly and helpfull. The shuttle sevice was excellent ... nice spaciuos brand new bus. The rooms were clean and well kept. Must visit the lounge, Vincenzo is an artisan and gentleman behind the bar. Overall good experience.

The hotel property and staff were very good. However, upon arrival the hotel informed us that they did not have our reservation from Venere. The hotel was fully booked on the first night so we were sent to another hotel (the Black Hotel) for that night. The hotel was within walking distance of the Jolly so it was not a major inconvienience but could have been a real problem if other nights were unavailable. Venere needs to check on this and determine why our reservation was not confirmed with the Jolly hotel.

I had a really enjoyable stay, and have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the standard of the hotel. The next time I stay in Rome I will definately use their services again.

One of the greatest advantages of this hotel is the free shuttle to/from downtown Rome. I found that to be incredibly useful and something that other colleagues of mine staying at other hotels wished they had.

The Hotel Jolly Midas is a great hotel for a Rome tourist adventure. The hotel is located outside of the city center, which keeps you away from the noise and commotion of old Rome. The hotel provides a very convenient and FREE shuttle to/from the city, so you can still enjoy the history and museums of Rome. Parking is also FREE and seems relatively secure, so we were not worried at all about the safety of our car. The hotel and rooms were in very good condition, and the staff was very helpful with questions about the city. Overall, the hotel was a great base of operation for our Rome adventures.

I would recommend anyone considering a stay at the Jolly Midas to definitely reconsider. I'm glad I only booked for one night. The room was not very clean and there was noise all night long. When asking the hotel staff for help getting to the airport the next morning, the staff arranged for a private car/taxi that took us to the airport for 41 Euros. I know this is an overcharge. The reason we opted to stay at the Jolly was that it is only about a ten minute ride to the airport. If we had stayed at another hotel we had left earlier in the trip near the Vatican, our taxi fare to the airport would only have benn 31 to 34 Euros. So, our experience at the Jolly Midas was not pleasant and I would never stay or recommend anyone stay there in the future.

The attituide of the reception staff left a lot to be desired. Rather like you were doing them a service instead of them doing you a service. Overall the hotel was good value for money but just a little too far out of the city although the free shuttle bus was excellent. The swimming pool was first class but let down by a none English speaking attendant and lack of changing facilities at the pool side. The quality of meals was good although breakfast was very matter of fact, cold eggs, cold bacon and sausage.

We did not have so much time to enjoy all your offered services - it was only short holiday. We really enjoy the outdoor swimming pool - it was really exciting because the temperature was over 30 degress during our vacation in Roma. We were really satisfied with the continental breakfasts served till 10 and the shuttle bus service was also very helpful. The rooms were quite nice, however we recommend to not choose the rooms faced to the swimming pool - there was quite noisy sometime because of the highway.
