Paid about $600/night for 3 nights because last minute change required being in Heidelberg. Outrageously expensive for just a place to sleep. New German law requires air conditioning be kept to only 6 degrees less than outside temperature no matter how hot; rooms were stuffy even though outside it was fairly cool. One window looked into reception area so no privacy if opened. "Green" hotel so they don't want to wash sheets, towels, and there's no lighting to speak of - very dark sterile rooms. All in all they made a huge profit from us. Had to ask for extra glasses (3 people in room); same odd-sized glasses were there the next day so I wonder if they were cleaned in sink, not sterilized? People were fairly snooty. Breakfast over $30! Ridiculous!

Good and modern hotel in the middle of town right on main road. Not too close to historic/pedestrian area. Good for business traveler. Good business facilities, modern and functional.

I have given such poor ratings because when we arrived at the NH Heidelberg, we were told that all the rooms were fully booked, even though we had a printed reservation confirmation in our hands! Terrible experience, would never trust this hotel to make a booking again! People should be warned that the NH Heidelberg will not honor bookings made on your website!

Reception staff busy. Given incorrect information. Requested parking but not available on arrival. Nowhere to park as festival in city. Huge breakfast and masses of guests but run like militarty operation. Many guests part of tour. Adequate room size with good facilities but poor reading light. Handy location to old city. Well run large hotel - impersonal.

Nice, quiet property with plenty of paid parking but a 10 min walk from the main part of town. Very quiet bar. Breakfast was not included and was expensive if you wanted to buy it.

On arrival we were offered an upgrade, at an additional cost to a superior room, we took this and to be fair it was good value, our only problem was on checkout where a much higher room rate than was quoted was used, this however was quickly resolved.

Generally my stay at the hotel was ok. Most of the staff were extremely helpful, except that one fine morning when I went to enquire about some detail, the receptionist asked me to pay for my stay till that day. When I told her that as per Venere's mail the payment is to be made to the hotel at the end of my stay she replied that "they had bad experience with certain people" and that my bill was high (877 euros). What made me wonder is why she suddenly thought of it when I went to the reception. It would have been more appropriate if the hotel had informed me earlier stating the bill limit. Of course I made the payment without any argument although it left a bad taste. I would advise the the management to be consistent with their policies and the same to be applied to all their guests.
