The general impression is that this hotel, rated as 4 STAR HOTEL, is actualy somewhere between 3 STAR to 4 STAR hotel; it does not deserve the classification of 4 Star Hotel.

We have paid for our 3 rooms upon check-out and yet today I received a credit card statement on another 1-night accomodation charged for the same hotel. I am very disappointed with your operation. I am demanding an explanation and remedical action. I do not rule out lodging a complaint and warning other travellers about my experience.

The hotel may be more than 0.6 km from the railway station. We have to go through narrow streets to reach the hotel. Rooms do not qualify 4-star. Breakfast was superb and restaurant staff efficient and pleasant.

Siamo stati per tre giorni in questo fantastico hotel, a 15 min dal centro della città. Lo staff al nostro arrivo si è rivelato cordiale ed esaustivo nelle nostre richieste. La struttura è molto ben curata, pulita e accogliente in ogni suo spazio comune: un bellissimo hotel 4*. Una volta saliti in camera, hanno subito telefonato dalla reception, chiedendoci di attendere un facchino, in modo da spostarci in una stanza disponibile molto più grande! Inoltre la colazione (fino alle 10.30) era ottima, abbondante, ricca di varianti per ogni gusto. Insomma un soggiorno in una città bellissima, anche grazie ad una struttura davvero valida, che non ci ha deluso in niente: davvero un ottimo hotel.

Nice hotel - reception amazing and cosy, rooms very spacious, spotless, with high ceilings and big windows / balconies. Wide road, with boulevard in the middle, very close to the river, quite and safe neighbourhood. A 15 minute walk from Pont Veccio - Old Bridge- Breakfast was good served at a nice restaurant a classic building with modern decoration.

The hotel was clean, just old and the rooms need recarpeting. our first room was supposed to be a junior suite but it was on 3 levels all small and above the lift so very noisy. we requested to move and were to a deluxe double which was much quieter and more spacious but the DVD didn't work which was a shame as we had especially purchased it to watch in Florence. The staff although nice enough to us,do not look happy and perhaps need some support and training..Like the rest of Florence the hotels are over priced..

Although it took us 7-8 miniute walk from Terminal/Florence centre, I recommend this hotel for its good price. It is exactly a 4-star hotel, with very elegant interior design, very nice breakfast and hotel service. The only cons is that our room (a standand double room) is not spacious enough. Anyway, we had a very good stay here!!! ^_^

The hotel is far away of the main atractions of Florence. There was not a shower cup in the bathroom, we asked for one and they did not provide one. The building is nice, clean and well preserved.

This is a pleasant environment away from the chaos of the historic centre. Some of the furnishings are a bit worn but spotlessly clean.The carpets need replacing and make the rooms look a bit dirty which in fact is quite the opposite. Excellent breakfast and attentive service in breakfast room. Only downside were the staff at reception not one smile in five days and very surly and abrupt at check in. Email enquiries about museum tickets were unanswered.

The bathroom was not cleaned proberly and there was dust-balls under sofa-table. We needed a shaving kit, and we asked 2 times in the reception. The staff promised to get back to us but never did. After the 3rd time we succeded in gettting an answer: it was not possible to get it. We could not get any directions for a grocery-market so we could buy one ourselves. We managed on our own to find a 1-euros market few streets away where we could buy a razor.

I cann't recommend this hotel due to lack of consideration to its guest. First of all, this hotel is not equipped with garage even though the web page shows as if it is. We were requested to pay Euro26 per night to park our car in a private garage which is located 10 min walk from the hotel. However, this is not worst point of the hotel. What is worst is reception. At least, one of them was terrible. You will not have adequate service from Mr.Conti Simone as we expect to a receptionist of 4 star hotel. On our arrival, he provided us wrong information about opening time of the garage. He explained to us the garage is available from AM7:00 to AM2:00 of the day after. However, IT WAS NOT due to easter. The garage took 6 hours rest from PM1:00 to PM7:00. We could realize the fact only when we went to the garage to pick our car up to visit little towns near Firenze, and found the garage was closed. Since public transportation was not available after PM1:00 of the day, our itinerary was totally destroyed. When we tried to have a solution with him, he didn't try to support us, didn't propose compensation and didn't apologize to us. He just refused to recognize his fault. That's all. Based on this bad experience, I cann't recommend this hotel to others.

Wonderful hotel. First room was a little small - on return from Rome the second room was very spacious. Highly recommend this hotel for parents visiting their students in Florence.

This is a very pleasing hotel, with a lovely atmosphere inside. It is within walking distance of the railway station and central Florence. Its restaurant serves good if rather expensive food.

breakfast was fantastic, night desk clerk was the kindest and most helpful during our entire vacation (5 hotels), our room faced the front steet and each morning we delighted in hearing classical music from the music school across the street, room was lovely too

Great value for money , spacious room , clean , good restaurant . Its a good walk into the centre of town , which was fine for us but may not suit some .

The main problem was really with the noise the was coming from the streets. A small note is just that the accessories provided in the bathrooms were very limited.

Really nice hotel, extremely spacious deluxe rooms, very friendly staff. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Our bags were stored in a locked baggage room on the day of our arrival until check in time. Nice location, about 10mins walking time carrying luggage to Firenze SMN train station. Highly recommend this hotel.

Last time when I stayed at this hotel, I was very satisfied with the room and other facilities the hotel offered.It's why I used the hotel this time. But I was very annoyed with terrible noise from the cart which commuted to change something necessary into and out of the hotel building early morning. At the check out, the manager told me that other rooms had been unavailable because they had been full booked. Of course that was a lie. Half vacant, I knew. That was probably because I had a discount rate. That room is No.105.

We have problems with our baggage: we arrived early in the morning at the hotel and the room wasn't ready yet, so we left our cases in reception and when we came back in the evening one case´s zip was forced. We received no compensation, they didn't even apologize and they even doubt our honesty.

Overall we had a marvellous stay. The staff were extremely helpful and competent. We would definetly use this hotel again and would recommend it to everyone.

The Anglo American is an excellent place to stay- no doubt. You can really have a wonderful start in the day with a very good breakfast buffet, served in an elegant room. This brings you in the mood for visiting museums and arts....Find a good rate- you won´t regret your stay.
