Hotel NH San Mauro is a bit outside of Caltagirone. It has a great view of the city that shines in the night. The area near the hotel is nothing great and you need a car to get into Caltagirone proper. The employees of the hotel were wonderful and the hotel is very spacious. It has a very American Hotel feel. The breakfast at this hotel is the best that we had on Sicily. One limiting factor is that the Internet access is a paid service and it works only in the lobby.

Un personne à l'accueil qui vous indique un parking pour laisser votre véhicule normalement sans problème : elle ignore que le parking est en zone réservée et nous prenons une amende de 36 euros. Une restauration en dessous de tout tant au niveau du service que du rapport qualité prix prohibitif

San Mauro is a modern business-type hotel that is located a few kilometers outside the center of Caltagirone. While the location is not ideal for ceramic shopping in the central city, this is an excellent, well-managed property. Our room was spacious, well-appointed and extremely comfortable. I doubt there is a better alternative, and we would definitely return. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast buffet. Off-season rates were very reasonable given the quality of the property.

This hotel was great! Dont hesitate to stay here. THe breakfast was exceptional. Ask for a room with a view of the old city and countryside of caltigirone. Only thing is that you probably need a car to get to the major site seeing attractions. We were able to find free parking in the upper city of Caltigirone with no problem.
