It is a good hotel just next to the train station, which is very useful if you want to travel around Bavaria. It is no too nosy and the noise is from the street not from the train station. It is close to the central (10-15 min walking distance) which is very good. The area is ok, not like other cities that the train station is the worst place , here it is not the case. It is cheap compare to the other Hotels in Munich, but the quality is good and I recommend it for tourist or for short stay travelers.

Great breakfast and location, however buyer beware, the rooms without a shower do not have access to any other shower. The Web pages need to warn the customers that no shower means no shower. Also the Web pages indicated that "all rooms had shower", this is confusing. We were lucky that we were able to change to a room with shower with no extra charge.

Room without showers means that are not even common shower available, so think about it, if you want to stay sereral days...

The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable and quitness but the price was a little high vs quality, but it was Oktoberfest. The breakfast is excellent with a lot of varieties and even fruits and champagne. The location on the map is wrong. it's shows Marsstrase but the hotel Amba's location is on Arnulfstrase outside Hauptbahnhof.

I believe the reason for my low rating of this hotel is that it is not prepared for heat. We checked in early evening, and were given a room that was extremely cramped for three people. The window opened directly over the third bed. We moved the bed so my son wouldn't knock himself out when he arose from the bed. The management should have thought of this already. All amenities were very clean, but due to the heat wave in Munich, our room was almost unbearably hot during the night, with the window wide open. The following day when I let the concierge know, I asked for a fan and she immediately gave me one. Why wasn't the room at least supplied with a fan the night before when we arrived? It didn't seem to be something we should have to ask for. The check in person at night, a man, never offered any real welcome to us or any way of alleviating the heat in the small, street facing room. I acknowledge that the price was good, but on the point of service at time of registration, I feel we were not well served. The woman the next day was very gracious. Where was that graciousness the night before?

From Munich airport take the express train S1 or S8 or the shuttle bus (daily from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.) in direction Innenstadt and get off at the Hauptbahnhof stop. The hotel lies on the north side of the train station.
