The morning staff at the reception was very unfriendly. The bathroom shower is very small. The hot water runs only for 3 to 5 minutes. This hotel is very expensive related to the room and service. The only positive thing is that it is across the street from the central station.

Pros: Location is superb - very close to subway, train, center- all in literally 2-3 minutes walking distance. 2 stops by subway to Marinplatz.. some small food shops right next door.. Cons: we couldn't fit in the shower, so tiny.. toilet is so close to the door, almost impossible to close the door.. Very noisy. IMPORTANT: this hotel is mainly for the bus tourists from Russia ( groups, nose), stewardess, and people who is not looking for a quality hotel. If I knew all of that, I would not stay there.

I chose to stay at Hotel Amba for two nights while on a choir tour/vacation chiefly for its proximity to Munich’s central train station (in just a minute’s walk, you have access to the S/U-Bahn, Trams, Regional/ICE trains). My “comfort single room” had plenty of room to move, ample luggage space, a large armoire (with an easily operated safe inside—worth using in a busy, populated area of Munich), a television with a decent selection of channels, and, most importantly, a clean, comfortable double bed. The bathroom is rather small/spartan, but functional. Shower is a bit cagey. The hotel website could do well to represent this better, as it currently only features pictures of large, spacious facilities. There is no air conditioning—something valuable in June—but a simple tilted window can help alleviate the heat. Outside noise is limited, as my room faced a courtyard and a quieter street. For those with smartphones/laptops, internet can be accessed via WIFI passwords—sold from the front desk in 24-hour increments for €1. While the service worked well on the first day, it failed to function after I bought a new password for the second day. (I didn’t have time to work this out with the front desk; future travelers should do so.) I cannot comment on the breakfast, as I was rather busy each morning. Wonderful launchpad to a vibrant, historic, enjoyable city.

The breakfast was not included and was very expensive so we did not try it. They charged 1€ per day foe WiFi which was OK, but it kept dropping so we gave up in the end. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very close to the main station but no traffic noise in our room.

It is a good hotel just next to the train station, which is very useful if you want to travel around Bavaria. It is no too nosy and the noise is from the street not from the train station. It is close to the central (10-15 min walking distance) which is very good. The area is ok, not like other cities that the train station is the worst place , here it is not the case. It is cheap compare to the other Hotels in Munich, but the quality is good and I recommend it for tourist or for short stay travelers.

This is right next to the train station and close enough to the main attractions to be able to walk. From the outside it looks a bit rough, but the room was very nice, clean, comfortable and spacious and the service was very nice.

Great breakfast and location, however buyer beware, the rooms without a shower do not have access to any other shower. The Web pages need to warn the customers that no shower means no shower. Also the Web pages indicated that "all rooms had shower", this is confusing. We were lucky that we were able to change to a room with shower with no extra charge.

The hotel was clean, the room was comfortable and quitness but the price was a little high vs quality, but it was Oktoberfest. The breakfast is excellent with a lot of varieties and even fruits and champagne. The location on the map is wrong. it's shows Marsstrase but the hotel Amba's location is on Arnulfstrase outside Hauptbahnhof.

I believe the reason for my low rating of this hotel is that it is not prepared for heat. We checked in early evening, and were given a room that was extremely cramped for three people. The window opened directly over the third bed. We moved the bed so my son wouldn't knock himself out when he arose from the bed. The management should have thought of this already. All amenities were very clean, but due to the heat wave in Munich, our room was almost unbearably hot during the night, with the window wide open. The following day when I let the concierge know, I asked for a fan and she immediately gave me one. Why wasn't the room at least supplied with a fan the night before when we arrived? It didn't seem to be something we should have to ask for. The check in person at night, a man, never offered any real welcome to us or any way of alleviating the heat in the small, street facing room. I acknowledge that the price was good, but on the point of service at time of registration, I feel we were not well served. The woman the next day was very gracious. Where was that graciousness the night before?

I felt that non- shower rooms should have access to a shower on its particular floor and not the only shower on the first floor.
