Staff charming and very helpful. Room very small for a double. Nice buffet breakfast. Building flanked by scaffolded older mansions, no work in progress, rather depressing sight. Excellent restaurants nearby, but not obvious.

Excellent welcome, excellent service from all staff, excellent standard of cleanliness throughout the hotel. Breakfasts are superb with fresh fruit changing daily, wide range of breads etc. Very handy to have the all-day self-serve lounge/snack bar. Located 100m from Underground (Lina Azura) which gives access to city centre, trams to Belem, railway to Cascais and Sintra. Lunch in restaurant at Pena Palace, Sintra, is well worth it. Get a train from Rossio mainline station, near Restauradores Underground, cheap, clean and quick. At Sintra do not attempt to walk up to the palace unless very fit and well shod! Recommend trip to Cascais by train from Cais do Sodre on the Lina Verde - lovely clean seaside town. Go to Belem on tram 15 from Praca do Comercio and eat in Pasteleria de Belem - at least two hot custard tarts with cinnamon and icing sugar each!! Recommend the old tram that goes around Graca and Alfama and to the Bairro Alto. Castelo do Sao Jorge well worth the view. Go to the Gulbenkian at Praca de Espanha station and walk back via El Corte Ingles for fantastic food supermarket, near S Sebastiao station, both on Lina Azura. Felt safe at all times in a very relaxed city.

The Hotel is not in the historical center of Lisboa, but is in the heart of the commercial zone, very closed to metro station Marques de Pombal (blue and yellow lines) only a few stops from the Rossio square. Is a modern and efficient structure, just a little bit expensive for lisbon average, but not compared with other european capitals. I spend a quite good holidays in this hotel.

My partner and I stayed at the Dom Carlos Liberty from 26/12/07-2/1/08. The hotel is located off of Rua Liberdade within one block of a metro station. Rooms are relatively spacious and spotlessly clean with all amenities and comfortable beds. My one issue is that the two twins pushed together to make a double can be uncomfortable for a couple without some type of down filler and a larger fitted sheet (as I have had in other European hotels.) Breakfast was tasty with a good variety of items. The lounge areas were very comfortable and we enjoyed the honesty bar and having a beer after a day of walking around Lisbon. On New Year's Eve the hotel provided us with a half bottle of sparkling wine--a very nice touch. High marks to the entire staff--every person, but especially to Sandra at reception, who answered every question with good humor and patience--plus she gave great directions and made good recommendations. Overall we were very pleased with this hotel and had a great time in Lisbon.

Ottimo albergo molto vicino al centro di Lisbona: se non si ha voglia di andarci a piedi, all'uscita dell'albergo c'è la metropolitana che porta dappertutto. Vivamente consigliato anche per la estrema gentilezza e professionalità del personale.

Adults, single or couples, who like a clean, efficient and comfortable hotel. The Bairro Alto district is within walking distance. Otherwise, bus and metro from Marques Pombal take you in all directions. Local coast train to Cascais is recommended on a hot summer day.

Travelling to Lisbon for Pleasure, the Dom Carlos Liberty was located in the financial district but tourist areas were 10 mins away by foot and easily accessible by metro. The staff was exceptionally helpful, providing suggestions for meals and excursions along with detailed travel instructions. A little pricey, but well worth the money spent.

The hotel is in a good locaton. The room was very clean. The stuff was young and very kind. The breakfast was OK, noting that it is a real pity to not have any fresh fruit (e.g. melon, water melon, kiwis), especially so during the season (June) when this type of fruit is available in all city restaurants at very affordable prices. The only major observation I have is the room size: there is hardly enough space to open your luggage on the floor (which I suppose matters when you pay 91 euros per night).

Everything was allright except the toilets that were very small. Employees excellent and very kind. We stay there the 31th of december and they give us a bottle of champain to celebrate the new year. There are 15 minutes to the center, in a quiet zone. Breakfast was also very good.

This hotel was excellent value for money. It was a 20 minute walk to the the main places to eat and the night entertainment. The rooms where well kept and there was quite a variety of food to eat at breakfast. I would have no problem in recommending this hotel to anyone visiting Lisbon.

The rooms are excellent but compact. The size of the bathroom in one of our rooms would have been very uncomfortable for someone of a bigger build.

If you come with your car and want to park it at the garage of the hotel, just think of asking for it at the same time you rent the room by internet. There's only 11 places for the whole hotel.

This is exactly what my city Riga needs more of: clean, comfortable lodging away from the noise of downtown, in the quiet centre.Given the low rates the hotel is surprisingly smartly, tasteful renovated.Guests can use the bussines and fitness centre. The accent is on wood and light tones and there's also a stylish dining area and ( important ) friendly staff. The good choise.

Very good hotel. Everything is new, spacious and spotlessly clean. Hotel personnel is very friendly and helpful. Location is very convenient: 3 minutes walk to the metro or 15 minutes along Avenida Liberdade to the sightseeing attractions of the old town. I would definitely stay there again and recommend the hotel to my friends.

Excellent Hotel, buildt in spring 2004 as a hotel, so you get all the standards you expect when booking a three-star business-hotel; the rooms are not too spacious, but (just) big enough; it´s possible to ask for a room with a view, and you definitely should do so, because otherwise you could get a room with view to the backyard (witch means: on a dark wall, three meters in front of the window). We really enjoyed our stay, the breakfast was great, the hotel is located close to the central square, you get there by foot in 10 minutes, a taxi is about 3,-EUR and you find a metro-station within short walking distance. We definitely recommend this house and will probabely stay there again on our next visit in Lisboa.
