The best thing about this hotel is its location, just off the main street in Interlaken West, few mins from the station and with lot of good eating options nearby. The hotels own retaurant was quite nice too. Rooms are very basic, although nothing to compain about. For the price the quality should have been better. Its a family owned place, and very short of staff. You hardly see anyone most of the time. By the way, I would suggest anyone going to interlaken to also keep a day aside on the weekend to take a hopping boat ride to nearby towns like Speitz, etc, besides the usual stuff.

absolutely great service. this is a family run hotel, and the staff are simply excellent and dedicated to ensuring a great stay. they helped us organize all of our excursions (w/ no commissions, etc.). switzerland generally is super expensive, so price/quality is always an issue. but for switzerland, this hotel was quite nice for the price -- clean, well maintained, welcoming.

This hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade and refreshing. The furnishings are old, dirty, and worn out. Our sheets besides having holes also had darned areas from previous holes. The carpet in the room had stains all over it. The bathroom tile/grout was dirty. The lobby was cluttered with all sorts of knick knacks. The only things I can recommend are the location is excellent, staff were very nice and the croissants at breakfast are wonderful.

The staff was exceptionally friendly with loads of additional information given on surrounding area activities. The rooms were clean and bedding comfortable. The ashtrays in the non-smoking rooms were a little unusual and probably need to be removed. Regardless, the rooms did not smell like cigarette smoke. The rooms were spacious and welcoming. The eclectic decor was memorable and esoteric making for good conversation. The English spoken at the counter was perfect. Internet is available for a fee. The views from the room were fantastic when the clouds abated. The hotel restaurant provided delicious meals with an Italian flair. For a return trip to Interlaken, Switzerland, we would highly recommend the Toscana. Be sure to peek in the window next to hotel to see some antique FIATs.

Located in the heart of Interlaken, this is a very clean and charming hotel. We stayed there for 4 days in September 2007. The family that takes care of the guests is very polite, friendly and make all efforts in order to offer to the guests a nice stay there. There is also, as part of the hotel, one of the best italian food restaurants where you may have pleasant moments. My wife and I had a wonderful stay there and the cost-benefit relation is actually optmized. Thanks to the family !

This property was one of the more expensive places we stayed at during our trip; however, this was directly related to it being in Interlaken, rather than the other cities we visited in Italy. The Venere directions from the train station were hard to follow, but it is a very short walk so asking directions was the easiest way. The staff is GREAT and very helpful with getting around the area and helping plan activities. This was a fairy tale city to visit and we had a great time. Breakfast was pretty good, rolls, yogurt, fruit, and meats. Watch out though - everything in Switzerland is just plain expensive!!

Service was excellent, particularly Michael (the owner/receptionist-hotel is family-owned), who even volunteered to take our laundry to the laundry lady since we had a long day at Jungfraujoch and had to leave early. It was like staying at a 5-star hotel. Parking available at the back for our car rental. Location was excellent. Rooms were clean, and so were the bathrooms.

We stayed at a hotel in Lucern that was twice as expensive, but we liked this one better. The staff was very friendly (English not a problem) and the location was great (we walked with heavy bags less than 10 minutes from Interlaken West). The rooms were small, but clean and had everything you needed. If you are looking for a no-frills base for exploring around Interlaken, I would heartily recommend.

We got what we bargained for with the Toscana: A pleasant hotel in the heart of Interlaken, convenient to both train stations. We needed a room for four adults, and the room itself was the right size, with four beds and a modest bathroom, including a shower. It was clean but a little tired; the carpet and decor were a little spartan, and a little old. The reception area, the staff, and breakfast, however, were all quite good -- clean and spacious (reception); friendly and helpful (staff); and generous and accommodating (breakfast -- the hotel arranged to serve it early one morning so that we could eat before catching an early train).

Very nice and clean hotel, rooms quite spacious based on European standards. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Interlaken, staff there very friendly. Hotel's Italian restaurant serves very good food too. But please note that if you're arriving by train, Interlaken West Train station is very much nearer than Interlaken OST(East) so please take note as Interlaken has 2 train stations, the West station is situated withing the hustle and bustle of the city, and the East station is about 5-10 mins away by Bus.

Interlaken was a wonderful opportunity to visit many beautiful areas like Jungfrau Joch, Schilthorn, Lake Thun. Hotel centrally located close to bus, shoppping and not too far from trainsation. The only negative that I found that although the hotel has "push button" telephones, the actual service is rotary, and I therefore couldn't use the Swiss telephone card I had purchased. The positive features were location, nice balcony, nice breakfast, comfortable beds and good-sized bathroom. The negatives were the old, stained carpet in the room (not what one should get when paying 200 CHF per night!) and the average service. The hotel is in a very good location and the staff are very helpful and friendly. We had 2 rooms and both rooms had twin beds which was a little unusual to us. The breakfast was included and was very nice but we were not told at time of booking or arrival so it would be very easy to miss out and go and eat somewhere else. There was no air conditioning and the only vetilation was the veranda door and this had no roof over it and so if it was raining could not be left open. We had a very expensive and disappointing trip up the Jungfrau and felt that the people at the accommodation should be telling guests not to buy their tickets to the top at the train station but from the village three quarters of the way up where you change trains to go to the top so that you can assess the weather before buying the expensive part of the journey and seeing nothing because it is a whiteout. This left a bad taste about Switzerland as no one explains this to the tourists.

The hotel is well located. We were able to walk to shops, restaurants and bus stop - also only 20 min walk to train station (5 mins on bus). Travelling with small children, being close to everything makes life easier! As we were 4 in one room it was slightly cramped with 2 foldout beds added to room for children - but nothing that was of major concern. The best thing about Toscana was the host who was very kind and helpful and the location of the hotel which is in the heart of the small town and right in the middle of the shopping area and very close to the information center. The Interlaken West station is very much walkable which takes about 5-6 minutes ( without heavy luggage ). Though 170 Sfr was little on the higher side but we liked this hotel.

Very quiet, spacious, comfortable, nice view from balcony. Excellent location in Interlaken. Courteous staff. Only drawbacks were 1) Lots of guests smoking during breakfast and 2) The telephones are rotaray, not touch-tone. Our calling card would not work with a rotary phone, and we had to walk to a pay phone.

First time to Interlaken, so perhaps the standoffish personalities is common. Few rooms with a view other than an alley or next to the laundry facility. The feather beds smelled bad and were questionably clean. Both of us had bites on our skin after each night sleeping (bugs in feather bed???). The restaurant was extremely overpriced and the food and service was terrible. The fondue had so much alcohol in it the cheese could not be tasted and the serving of bread was sparse for 41.00 CHF. The lobby is outdated and spider webs covered the natural rock fountain by the front desk. This should have been our first indication to turn around and leave. The bathroom towels appeared to have been used previously (long hairs on them) as did the bathroom and minibar glassware. No screens on the windows and with easy access to the room we did not feel comfortable leaving the windows open to air out the room even when we were there. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even those on limited budgets because it was expensive yet dirty.

This was a nice place to stay; we really enjoyed it! We arrived late at night and could not see our surroundings. We asked for a room change and that was easily done. We had extra guests with us. When we awoke in the morning, upon looking out the window, we were in awe! How breath-taking! The host was very nice and we enjoyed the hotel restaurant!

I think the hotel was specially open for me but despite the shortage of guests (time of year), service was good. The room was a little spartan but the price made up for it !

Hotel is in quiet pedestrian area near shops and restaurants. Train stations are within walking distance...west train station is closest for luggage drop off at hotel. Breakfast was included in rate and was varied and satifying. The restaurant on site is also good. Room was spacious and comfortable for three adults to share.

Very nice facility and excellent location. Perfect proximity to train station and in the middle of everything. Very pleasant staff and I would stay there again without even looking elsewhere

Good hotel. Would not have any problems staying there again. We had been to a couple of other hotels in the area before, with more stars, but our stay at Toscana was pretty good. The rooms are very clean and quiet. It's near the West station, within easy walking distance. Ideal for trips to the Jungfrau and near all the shopping. Since everything in Switzerland tends to be somewhat pricey, the hotel's price is acceptable. Would not mind staying there again.

What a nice Swiss Hotel! Family run, with an Italian flavor, Very friendly, very clean, with a restaurant that is outstanding. The staff set up an extra bed and smiled the whole time. Two blocks from downtown shopping, but on a quite side street, a wonderful value of a hotel and restuarant. Breakfast, included, was also very good too.

We felt very welcome during our stay. The manager went out of his way to explain the attractions nearby. The breakfast buffet was very generous and service was good. Our room had a wonderul view from the balcony to the mountains. I hope one day to come back again.

Our room was plenty big enough for two adults and two children and the breakfasts were great. Even though the hotel is centrally our room was quiet and peaceful.
