The smelt vintage. The shower was very old fashion, the room was too close to the road as it was nosey. The room had no real air conditioning it was hot, there was a cooling fan available but it was not cool enough. The bed was not a normal double bed. It was two single beds pushed up against each other. Which became uncomfortable for us two. The internet was not free.

Hotel ideally placed for access to shops, restaurants and NIA. Needs refurbishment as very tired overall. Room was very hot and stuffy as no air condtioning! Could not leave window open at night as road noise terrible. Needs a good restaurant as only bar snacks or oriental cuisine offered. Breakfast was very good with extensive choice. Would stay again if price was right but prefer other hotels in vicinity with air con.

Lifts didnt work and I ended up in basement as there was no stair access to the ground floor-door was locked!!! Drunken man snoring outside room in the corridor til early hours of the morning, and noise from couple in next room rowing til 3am didnt bode well for a good nights sleep. Would say it was worth 4 stars im afraid. Have stayed before, which is why we booked again...but will not be returning. Dont think they will even bother to look or respond to the questionnaire left in the room, as they took it off me at reception..and Ive heard nothing from them

This was the first time we have stayed at the Coprthorne Hotel. The hotel was beautiful, clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was lovely and being a vegetarian, the chef even catered for me! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will be staying again soon!

Staff are friendly, the main customer areas are fine, all clean & tidy, the hotel is in an excellent location. However,I have stayed here approx 4 years for my works Christmas Do(The 'do' is not in the hotel) My main complaint is that the bedrooms are in need of a refurb. The decor is tired and is in need of bringing up to date - a lot of TLC required!!

I arrived late in the day, and the key didn't work, and I think basic things like explaining how keys work would be nice (it's a first impression, and when only one of the two elevators is working and you have to go up then down...) the guy was nice enough, but jeesh. Also, internet should be free, and in any case I shouldn't have to go back down to reception for the password... They did do some good photocopying for me very professionally.

Excellent hotel for the price (£55), clean rooms, good location, excellent breakfast, and the staff deserve special praise for their friendly and helpful service they provided! Only negative would be that the rooms need updating as they are showing wear and tear, but they are still very clean!

This is most certainly **not** a 4 star hotel when compared with the Crowne Plaza or Malmaison - the rooms are small, tired and shabby - rather like the Burlington hotel nearby but without the benefit of large rooms.

The hotel was excellent value for money and very well located. We were very lucky that the reception staff were so fabulous, as we booked using the Trivago search facility and took the reservation email but the booking had not been sent to the hotel. Thankfuly they squeezed us in and as we were now dealing direct with the hotel our room was £10 cheaper and included parking and breakfast..bonus! Moral of the story for me will be to contact The Copthorne Hotel direct

Good hotel, not exceptional by any means, good location. How can there still be hotels of these supposed status that do not offer internet connection in every room?

Had to change rooms as 1st room was connecting and had no sound proofing at all. Even though neighbours were very quiet, could hear every word. Also faulty bedroom light and VERY shabby. 2nd room (upgraded) had overpoweringly musty smell and also had faulty light, this time bathroom. Extremely disappointed and will not use again.

i was led to believe by venere that the hotel had a pool & jacuzzi, hence chose this place over others available and had gone looking forward to using the facilities and had prepared accordingly, the staff said venere have been informed. I was also surprised when had a £9.50 bill for parking which i was not made aware by venere at the time of booking.
