There is no free internet access or included in the hotel price (not good for business). Just an expensive "vodaphone" wireless network, not really convenient! The room was a little hot during my stay in September (cannot tune the air conditioning), but the overall stay was good, with a really good relationship "price/quality" at this location in Rome.

Small stinky loud rooms, too few elevators that where very slow. corridors are filty and filled with stuff so it´s diffucult to get through. Only god points are that the staff is quiet competent and helpfull to be from Rom and then the location next to the colluseum.

Initially I was given a terrible dark room (feels like in a cave) on the 1st floor, but was able to move to a normal "bright" one the second day: since then, the stay was fine, but clearly subject to the room you get... Staff was helpful, as indicated in other reviews.

This hotel has an excellent location (3 min walk to Colosseum), inadequate air conditioning, small shower cubicles and poor front desk service. I had no problems with reception but I saw two heated arguments in the two days that I was staying there. Smallest Twin rooms I have ever experienced. I know that the pound is weak but prices for breakfast(15 Euros each)and drinks etc were outrageous. Have Previously stayed at Splendide Royal which although more expensive is a much better value.

Muy buena ubicacion, habitaciones comodas, amplias, baño amplio, limpio, el hotel tiene espacios estrechos en los corredores y el area de la piscina, pero esto es lo de menos. La atencion es buena y un personal muy amable. 100% recomendable

Hotel was very well located right next to the Colliseum. The folks at the front desk spoke English very well and were very helpful! The price for 109 Euros beat all other places in the area for a nice quiet room with a queen size bed and an adjoining little suite area. Was a terrific place to stay in Rome and also the buffet breakfast (which you paid extra for) was wonderful!

Apparently Roman hotels are very expensive for what you get and this was my first time to Rome so should be taken into consideration when reading some of my disappointed comments. Negatives... - The room was quite small - not a big issue because we weren't in it a lot. - The one time there was noise in a room near us, we could hear it VERY clearly as if it was just outside our door. Luckily it was pretty quite when we were in late night, early morning. - We got given a smoking room without being told we would. Again, not big issue as it was hardly noticable but other hotels in past have been very clear if they were giving us a smoking room as it's taken most people don't want one. - Our bathroom and room became full of smell of smoke one morning. From what we could tell it was someone else smoking (probably in their bathroom) and it was going up into the roof and coming into ours through the bathroom roof. Otherwise was coming under our door into room. Either way, not pleasant. - Problems with tv. It very expensive to use (20 Euro for 24hrs) and was continually playing up on us both trying to get it working and when watching. - There was no swimming pool and rooftop bar... this whole area was closed. This was NOT made clear when decided on this hotel. In fact, we chose this hotel for this main reason and because of location. We were really looking forward to using the pool and sitting on rooftop overlooking the Colloseum. However, when we arrived we were told it was only open in Summer from May. Again, there was no mention of this on ordering or even in the hotel lobby when we arrived. (It had sign saying how great their rooftop pool and bar were). Being April it was plenty warm enough for this to be open but it was more the not being made clear that was annoying. Positives... - Staff were wonderful and very helpful. - Location. This was the other big reason we chose this place and weren't disappointed. It's even closer to the Colloseu

The hotel was really close to the Colosseum, 1-2 minutes walk. Metro station right next to the Colosseum, only two stops to Termini station. We took the train from the airport to Termini (about 30 min), and from there the metro two stops to Colosseo station. It was really easy to find the hotel. We were in Rome the first week in April, so the roof terrasse was closed, but we asked the guy in the reseption, and he let us go up there to take pictures =) and what a view =) Minus: really bad ventilation in room, so we had to open the window/door every time we got in, and had to sleep with the window/door open. own bathroom with hairdryer, and free water in "minibar" =)

We stayed 3 nights at the Mercure Colosseo beginning of April 2009. As a couple aged 35 year old we wanted to stay in a quiet and clean place, quite close to the old city centre. I had read that most of the hotels in Roma were not so quiet, but here we slept very well. The room was very nice, although the shower was tiny. You can chose between 2 types of breakfasts, Italian breakfast is fine, if you wish to get continental breakfast the cost is quite expensive at 15 euros/person. The location was ideal as we were only a few minutes walking from the Colosseo. There are several bus lines near the hotel, but most of the time we walked directly from the hotel to places like the Palatino, the Capitolino, the Pantheon and the Corso Vittorio Emanuele to get to the historic city center. We really enjoyed our stay, and had a fantastic rate (109 euros/night, but we booked the room 2 months in advance and it was no refundable).

The hotel is nice. However, four stars are overrated for sure. At least, the rooms (and especially baths) are much too small for this rate and price.

Hotel was okay, the rooms with cheapest rate are quite small, too small for a 4 star hotel I'd say. Not too modern. Friendly people though. Biggest plus would be the location, very close near Coloseum.

Excellent location for colesseum and forum. Rooms compact but comfortable. Shower cubicle very small. A/C and pool on roof only operate in Summer (May - Sept). Despite the fact that I was there in mid April in temps of 23C, the management couldn't possibly turn on the A/C in the rooms because "it's not Summer!" Alas the windows in the rooms don't open to provide fresh air. However I would stay there again because price and location are great. Venere price I paid was 100 euro less than the official rates displayed at reception. Nice.

This was by far the worst place I've ever stayed in Italy. The bed had hair in the sheets when we got there. The guy who was in charge could barely speak English and we never did find where we were supposed to go for our breakfast. He also went in our room when we weren't there. The price was way too much for the quality of the place. We didn't sleep at all because of the noise and weird feeling we got about the other people staying in the other rooms. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.

The hotel staff was amazing AM & PM shift. Thanks Simona for everything. This was my first trip aboard and they made this American traveler feel at home. My friends on the other hand, didn't have good luck. Their accommodations were at another hotel and things didn't workout for them, so they came over to Mercure Delta. The staff made it happen; so, accommodating for last minute reservations. Also, this hotel is right down the street from the Coliseum and near the train station. I was very pleased with the service, food and room – overall FIRST-RATE!!!

The room was reasonably clean and very quiet, but way too small. The welcome at the reception left a bit to be desired, but the overall position and quietness of the area gives this hotel a big plus. Overall, not too disappointing and not too exciting either.

Great hotel for tourists. We stayed for 4 nights, and it was our first trip to Rome. Good location. Staff really friendly and helpful. Good choice for breakfast and efficient service. Rooms are quite small, but with a good view of Colloseum. Our bathroom was a bit old - the hairdryer hose was split and completely broke on our last day! Swimming pool was freezing, so probably only used in a heatwave! But overall a good base for a short trip to Rome.

It is a 4 StarHotel - the Roomservice was horrible (cleanness of the room, floor was never cleaned, CHips boxes from the customer before us during 7 days not cleaned away, windows were opaque), one day the room wasn't ready at three o'clock pm
