It was a nice time we spent with my bf in this hotel (26-29.11.2012)and it was the first hotel we were at. Some Staff members were helpful, polite and easygoing, but some of them were unfortunately indifferent...Actually ONE of them) ;) I liked the room. It was little but comfortable and warm. Bathroom could have more ventilation..))) Room service was also good. Spa/Wellness centre was ok. Maybe we expected some more space, but it wasnt a problem for us, cause there were not many people at the end of november. I liked the design of hotel, my bf didnt. I think its a personal thing. We've ordered once a dinner at hotel restaurant=> Bavarian kitchen is not smth for us :D and price is not so fair for food that've been already on the table in 10 minutes...a little bit suspicious ))) but it was nice that we didnt need to wait for a long time anyway. I'll remember this time with a warm heart, cause it was the most romantic stay for both of us. We explored Zugspitze, Partnachklamm, Eibsee, Garmisch and Partenkirchen cities and I can say that Mercure was a nice place to rerurn to. I liked the atmosphere there. Thanks for memories) P.S. noone have noticed that I had a birthday on 28th of November(((( ;D

the Hotel is very good. staff super friendly, specially Monika from the reception desk : ) dislikes: we found the breakfast overpriced (18 euro / person) the wifi was not free... shame on a big chain as Mercure not to provide such a service that even dirty hostels do!

This was a terrific hotel from which to explore and we got off to a great start with the helpful courteous staff. When we were asked about room preference and learned that the only room with mountain view was smoking a staff member took us to check it out to make sure we were satisfied! She was extremely helpful in every way and the person checking us in helped out with walking instructions and even helped us find an outstanding Indian restaurant - not a typical request in Bavaria I suspect :) We opted for breakfast at one of the several nearby bakeries so can't say much on that point. We would definitely stay here again - good value!

Not far from the hotel is the Richard Strauss Institut that had a free open air concert the evening I was in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. It was really nice to listen to listen to that music as the sun set on the Alps. There's a good Irish Pub called "Irish Pub" toward the center of town that is excellent. Ask for the manager Karl and tell him Frommer's sent you.
