have stayed in the hotel several times both on business and holiday. Its location in Bergamo is perfect in the lower town and near the station, the upper city and good restaurants. As a business hotel, it is good, the rooms are spacious and quiet but the public area and bar are small and quiet

Parking of our automobile was much more of a hassle than I expected from the web site, down a tight spiral to a central city parking garage 50 meters from the hotel. Desk staff and breakfasts were excellent!

Hotel is very conveniently located 2 blocks from the railway station. The room and bathroom was modern spacious and clean. Hotel staff were somewhat friendly, we arrived fairly late and left early in the morning. Would have been nice if the airport transfers were included as a service, just a small expectation for a 4 star hotel. Whatever you do, DONT eat at VOX Pub (just next door to the mercure). We ordered beef fillet and they served us rotten decomposing meat and expected us to eat it. The stentch of the meat was so unbearable we had to have it removed from the dining room - it made us us and other patrons very uncomfortable.

The Mercure was very easy to get to. One block from the train station and there was a parking garage next door. The rooms were modern and clean. The bedding was very nice and the windows were sound proof. The front desk staff recommended a great restaurant a couple blocks away and told us how to easily arrive to the citta alta. They were not very enthusiastic when asked what Bergamo has to offer, but I would go back both to the Mercure and to Bergamo.

The hotel is perfectly located for Bergamo Train Station. Staff were exceptionally professional & competent - very pleasant & welcoming. Room was a little on the small side, but we were kindly accommodated with extra bed for 2 children. Room was very clean. Bar & reception area a little on the small side. Perhaps hotel should include breakfast in room rate.

Overall, hotel good value for money and in a good location. Room spacious and clean if a little dingy due to poor lighting and the fact curtain had to be kept drawn due to overlooking offices. Bathroom good; modern and clean. Breakfast adequate but at 9 euros not good vfm. Only one staff member on duty so don't expect any level of service, in fact waiter bemused when asked to clear table of plates, debris etc. Reception explained it was due to too many people! Many good places tho in immediate vicinity to get breakfast so would recommend that. Bergamo absolutely amazing place to visit and good base to tour the area from. Despite service giving way to price, would stay at the Mercure again.

A nice and clean "business" hotel. Room is quite comfortable, but the public area and the breakfast room are small. Very convenient, just a few mins walk from the train station. Nice surroundings. We were impressed by the in-room breakfast at our stay. Very good. The only thing we were not happy was the attitude of the front desk staff. Poor! And we waited for quite a long time for check in there, but the staff was not busy at that time.

We spent two nights here at the end of our holiday in Italy & wanted somewhere central with easy access to public transport to the airport - the location couldn't have been better. 2 mins walk to the bus/train station (get your bus ticket beforehand from kiosk on the right inside the station)Taxi would have been about €45.00 but the bus was only €1.70 each & took 15mins. Strolled up the wide street to the funicular to Citta Alta - thoroughly enjoyable day. Plenty of restaurants/cafes to cater for all budgets. The hotel was perfect for a city break as all we needed was a bed & shower. I would definitely go back!

This hotel is located 400 m far from the train station. So very pratical if you want to travel to Milan or to Verona. So, it is around 2 km far from the main place to visit in Bergamo (Citta Alta - Upper part) but this can be reached easyly by bus - very efficient and 5,40 EUR for 3 days) The room was very clean (with a shower, no bad in our room) and the service very good. We had a very nice sight on the upper part of Bergamo. As minus points, the price was not cheap and the fact that when we booked the room, we had to pay at least 2 nights (Usually, you can cancel 2 days before departure). You can avoid this but then the price is still higher.

our room was fabulous..i dont know if all the rooms are like that but 4th floor rooms were really as if we were at the roof.Paintings on the walls and the shades of light making the paint of walls look as if they were in different colours was so awesome. our welcoming person was excellent.although i made a mistake on our arrial date, and venere not being able to help at all, after calling the hotel he conforted me saying it was no problem and welcomed us at 1am in the morning-gave us very good advises to walk to the citta alta and we felt like he was a friend already.super property but would not be the same without his efforts-i think hs name was guiseppe.. would be better if breakfast could be part of the good deal venere offers.

First time at Palazzo Dolci and expected slightly more upmarket facilities. Bearing in mind this is Italy breakfast was OK. Felt hotel lacked character but may be this is because it is modern. Price top end for 4 star out of season. Would I stay there again - probably as I think it is possibly the best 4 star although perhaps I would try Citta Alta.

We really loved our stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, both on reception and in the dining room. The rooms were lovely and just as described...we asked for a room with a view and got a stunning view of the old town from our window. Breakfast was excellent- great choice. The location was perfect- everything was so accessible. We would defintiely go back and recommend to others. For the hotel- we'd feedback that our beautifully appointed bathroom had a very leaky shower and that the shower area was cramped, despite the bathroom being large (it was specially adpated for disabled clients which we didn't need , not sure how a wheelchair user would have managed.)

We stayed one night at the Palazzo Dolci, as we flew into Bergamo in the evening and were heading to Verona the following day. This is a real gem of a hotel. Our room was quite small, but had real character and was very comfortable. The staff were really friendly and recommended a lovely restaurant, which was close by. Breakfast was great, with lots of fresh fruit, a variety of rolls and pastries, cheeses, cooked dishes etc - quite a feast. We would definitely stay here again. Bergamo is a lovely city, well worth a visit and this hotel, which is really close to the station is a great base. If you are catching the bus from airport, get off the stop after the station and the hotel is a few metres further up the road on the opposite side.

The hotel is nice, good breakfast, but no restaurant otherwise in the hotel which seems a bit strange for a 4 star hotel. We planned to get a bus to the airport the next day. The hotel website says the bus stops outside their door. This was a little stretch of the truth, the bus stop is outside the train station, just a few minutes away.

Very smart, modern Hotel (in an old building) located on the main road between the main railway station and the funicular to the upper city. Hotel is 5mins from the railway station and 20mins on foot to the funicular. The style is very modern and the rooms are decorated accordingly with lots of nice touches and some interesting art work. This might not be to everybody's taste but I personally found it a refreshing break from the norm and liked the rooms very much. The rooms are very spacious and have large comfortable beds. The bathroom was also very big and stylish and was fully tiled through out. Rooms have air conditioning, mini bar, pay tv and everything you would expect from a good hotel. Breakfast was good, reception staff pleasant and helpful when asked. The No.1 bus goes to the Upper City (Citta Alta). The bus stop is on the other side of the road from the hotel, costs 1 euro (tickets from newsstand outside hotel) and takes about 5-10mins to get there. The last funicular leaves the Upper City at midnight (buses a lot earlier). The walk back to the hotel from the lower funicular station is much easier as it is all down hill on the way back - takes about 10-15 mins. Bergamo is a beautiful place and well worth a visit. If you get the chance take the second funicular at the other end of the Upper City and go up to St.Vigilio to take in the fantastic views and perhaps stop for a drink or something to eat at one of the lovely cafe / restaurants perched at the top.

this hotel is just a 2 minute walk from the train station, and that was a big plus for us with all of our luggage. It is about a 15 minute walk to the funicular, (take to citta alta) but the walk is fun with lots of window shopping and people watching, and goes by quickly. There is also a bus that picks up across the street from the hotel that will take you directly to the funicular. Hotel has 4 levels, 2 of which are smoking floors. We were dissapointed that our room was on a smoking floor (floor 1) but although the hallway smelled slightly of smoke the room did not at all. Room was accurately pictured and perfectly adequate for a quick Bergamo 1 night stay. We slept through breakfast so cannot comment on that. Make sure to check out the Irish pub across the main road and up a few streets, they had good music, decent crowd and drinks!

We were impressed by the staff who were helpful to us on our return through Bergamo a week after our stay at the hotel. Thank you.

Air Conditioning was not working and parking was €12 for 24hours. Would have preferred if it specifically said parking was at a fee in a public car park. Other than that the hotel was in a good location and reasonable for the price.

Business type hotel but very comfortable for a one night stay. Quiet, convenenient for bus/funicular to Alta Citta, good aircon. Two complaints: internet access is not free in the bar as stated - and they appeared bewildered when I asked about this; quite difficult to spot from the car - should give directions to parking on the web details. Also our bed sounded as if it was about to break.

This is a perfectly good hotel in terms of facilities, cleanliness and convenience from the station but I found it soul-less. Perfect for the overnight business stay but for a holiday, and having stayed in several other hotels in Bergamo, I think I'd rather be nearer or in the Citta Alta.

The hotel is really near to the train and bus stations, perfect for communications. About the room is nice, big and clean. The bed is good and big. The toilet is quite clean and with everything needed. The unique bad point is the internet connection, it's really expensive. Overall, the relation quality/price of the hotel is ok because it is included the breakfast, by the way a nice buffet.

This is a great place to stay. The service was excellent, good breakfast and great value for money. Very well run. Only problem was air con came on at 6am in the bedroom very noisily. Soon rectified though. Will definitely use again.

This was our first stay here and the photographs did not do the rooms justice. I would certainly stay here again. The hotel was beautiful, the breakfast was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly.

AirConditioned, Brilliant Soundproofing, Near the Rail and Bus stations, easy walk to the funicular or bus straight outside the hotel to the old Citta Alta. Bus to the airport from the rail sttion a 3 minute walk. Hotels roolms were very comfortable with quality bedding. Breakfast was ok too - good choice and friendly staff. Couldn't really fault it.

Nice breakfast and good accommodation. Not too far from the railway station so quite convenient to reach. Bus up to old city can be caught across the road (although we walked). Nice city for a few days break. Hotel recommended a very good restaurant nearby which we can endorse completely.

The hotel was ideally situated near the train station and bus terminal and only a short bus ride from the airport. Convenient for buses taking you to the funicular railway station which takes you to the Citta Alta(old city). The hotel was definitely of a four star standard with everything we needed, including a good breakfast! Would definitely recommend this hotel.

You know what you get with any hotel in the Accor chain: great, consistent quality control from a chain which seems to have a strong company ethos that really promotes employee morale. The Bergamo branch is no exception - we extended our stay because of the staff's welcome, the standard of rooms, the excellent location... It's an ideal location if you use the airport / train. Arriving at the airport, we got a simple bus connection to train station, and the hotel is only a couple of minutes away. And from there, it's a pleasurable walk of 15 minutes or so (going past the excellent Grom gelateria!) plus a funicular (easy to use, and great views) to Old Town. Whilst Accor might lack character, at least they are consistent and welcoming. Don't bother trying to hunt for accommodation with character - save that for Bergamo's great restaurants - instead go for safe option and book into this Mercure.
