this is a lovely hotel to stay in, I always appreciate the first welcome and the staff on duty were very welcoming and helpful. Definitely would stay there again.

We drove to Aix from Barcelona and because of traffic it ended up being a very long and tiring drive. All along I was worried about how good or bad the hotel was going to be. As soon as we walked into the hotel I was struck by how big and nicely decorated the lobby was. I was very scared of what I would get given my experience with hotels in Paris the previous year, but I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. My very good friend nudged me with her elbow as soon as we got into the elevator to bring to my attention how NOT extremely small and claustrophobic the elevator was! And once we saw the room and the view of the pool from the room...oh, we were in love :) The only bad things I can say about this hotel are: 1) Even though our room was prepaid in full for four nights, upon checkout we were asked to pay some tax (city tax if I'm not mistaking); I just don't understand how you can fully pay for a room and end up having to pay more upon checkout! I told the guy that it didn't make sense, but he said that that was the case for all hotels in France. As it turned out, it wasn't, because after we left Aix, we stayed in Nice for another four nights and our room was again prepaid for the first two nights, and we didn't end up having to pay any extra tax for those nights. 2) From the get-go we didn't have any soap in our room and when we told the staff, she was completely indifferent and told us to use shampoo instead!!!

We loved the hotel and the staff was unfailingly helpful. We received particularly exceptional assistance from Darren and have already emailed the manager of the hotel. Pain Paradol, a French version of Subway, had delicious inexpensive paninis! Not really a restaurant, but great for a quick lunch. The hotel restaurant was excellent.
