The hotel was nice enough, fairly standard hotel room really. Staff were very helpful giving great advice on places to eat locally (avoid the restaurants directly outside the front door, they are pretty bad).

Only real complaint is that the person at the front desk most of the daytime hours was not fluent in English (as advertised). She spoke some English but it would be helpful if that person was able to assist guests with recommendations and not just the most basic hotel related questions.

The main problem is access by car - there is none. You park in an adjacent parking lot and drag your bags to the hotel about 600 feet of cobblestone roads. They should mention that we could drop bags and passengers 40 feet from the hotel on place de l'Horloge (cannot park), then go to the parking lot. The rooms are small, but classic for this area. The location is outstanding as to proximity to historical sites and the entertainment center of town

The room was smallish, and not terribly inviting. The bathroom was also small. The bathroom tub/shower had a folding screen, presumably to keep water in the tub, but ineffectual. The entire floor was flooded each time a shower was taken. The room was relatively clean. The lobby, however, had a terrible, foul smell. The receptionists were lovely, and were as accommodating, as they could be.

This was a very nice hotel right in the main square, opposite the town hall and opera house, and just round the corner from the cathedral and popes' palace. We stayed for six nights in the winter and were made very welcome and comfortable. The lift was out of order for the first couple of days of our stay, but the hotel kindly emailed us (in English) to warn us beforehand, and allocated a room on the first floor where we had a view across the square. The room was spacious and the bathroom especially so. We only had the breakfast on one day, but it was very acceptable.

Of the 4 hotels we stayed in this trip, this was the best by far. The location is outstanding, within 2 minutes of the Pope's Palace, and is serviced by a large, well-maintained parking garage (Parking Palais des Papes). The view from our window on the main square was beautiful. The receptionist was very professional. We needed to extend our car lease, and she placed the calls for us and sent a FAX from the hotel machine. She made recommendations for dinner and was generally very warm and welcoming. The breakfast was good and had good variety. We requested a double room, and were given a room with four beds (for 2 people). The room had a small fridge and a coffee maker, not typical in France. Overall-a great place to stay. We would like to return here again.

Kyriad was a lovely hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant they suggested was very expensive and not very good but overall the hotel was all we expected. We would stay there again.

The hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, and the people at the front desk could very easily put you off but the rooms are modern, clean and comfortable, and the location is brilliant - right in the main square of Avignon. We parked illegally in the square, checked in and got directions to the parking garage which has a special rate with the hotel, only a short distance away. They do also do breakfast but we always ate out.

This hotel is excellently placed overlooking the main square. With windows open, street cleaners start before 5.0am. (There is air conditioning.) The bathroom needed a bit of maintenance. The hair dryer did not work. The shower screen needed new seals, and the basin plug would not lift up. Friendly staff.

Parking is a pain in avignon but ask at the front desk as they have preferred parking with a few garages in the area. If not Les Halles parking garage is a 24 hour garage within a 5 minute walk. The restaurants around the Kyriad are nice.

This hotel is located right in the middle of Avignon's main square, which is the best place you can be while in this city. There are amazing restaurants nearby (please go to the Brigadier du Theatre, not the ones in front of the hotel) and all the main attractions are within 10 minutes walking distance. The rooms are very cozy and clean and the staff is helpful. I strongly recommend this hotel and Avignong in general.

The room I stayed in was on the 4th floor, facing the square.Despite the number of restaurants below it was not noisy - even with the window open. We booked in easily - the reservation was ready and there were no problems. The room was clean, spacious and had a WONDERFUL view. The curtains and bedspreads could do with some dry-cleaning, but were acceptable. Nice new bathroom (small, but that was understandable.) The hotel was excellently and conveniently situated and I shall recommend it to my friends - and a reasonable price too. Well done for an easy booking.

We visited the Kyriad Avignon in August of 2007, staying only one night. Our room was fantastic for the price: all Kyriads, of course, are budget hotels, but this one offered an astonishing view over the central square of the city. We were truly struck by the value: with such a central location and stunning view, plus a flat-screen TV and a well-appointed (though tiny) bathroom, we truly got our money's worth. The breakfast was not better than average, and of course, as just about anywhere in France in this price range, the room and bathroom were tiny (and the numbering system of the rooms could be confusing). The woman who checked us in had no record of reservation, so fortunately, our printout from Venere saved the day. Still, to get a room so centrally located and with such a breathtaking view, for a Kyriad price, was a true bonus for our vacation -- we spent the money saved on a lovely meal! We would definitely go back to the Kyriad Avignon.

My mother and I enjoyed our stay very much. The room we got was facing the Place d'Horloge, which was lovely. We were surprised, and yet happy to see there were coffee and biscuits provided(not much hotels in France have!). But one thing I want to say is that the light outside our room failed to work when we were back to the hotel during the night, and it was so dark that we could hardly notice there was a little step in front of our room and I almost fell down...But this was only a little matter, and overall it was a very comfortable hotel. We will definitely recommend this hotel and return if we have chance to visit Avignon again.

I had been to Avignon on business previously but this was the first time as a tourist. We booked a Kyriad hotel in Tours central so we decided to also book the Kyriad in Avignon as its location was close to the Papal palace.The hotel is smaller than Tours and it offers clean small rooms at a lower price than Tours, but I feel Tours was far better value for the money spent. We needed to be careful where we left our suitcases in the bedroom as they became dangerous obstacles in the dark. The bathroom was clean, modern and probably bigger than our bedroom. The bed was comfortable, but the air conditioner seemed to only want to pump hot air so we welcomed the large windows which let in a good air flow. The location of the hotel on the main square means it is reasonably quiet during the week. Breakfast was adequate but poor in comparison to Tours so we ate out at the many dinning areas close by for the next two days. We found the cafe,s near by served better breakfasts at a cheaper price. Even Mac Donald's is close by for breakfast. We had three people on the front desk over the days we stayed. Two were very helpful whilst one was rather abrupt. The hotel is in a great location to visit the historical attractions of Avignon.

We booked this hotel based on comments on Trip Adviser. The rooms were spacious. The bed was a good size for two people and firm. The bathroom was large, bright and modern with a tub and shower. The room itself was a bit "tired". By this I mean chips in the paint on the wall and in desperate need of new carpet. Those things you can't see in the photographs of the room. That being said we really enjoyed our stay here. It was right on the public square which comes alive at night with patio restaurants and wandering tourists. We requested a room that looked on to the square which was fun but could be a bit noisey at night. That being said we didn't ask to change rooms because we had such a great view. The rooms are air conditioned though. For an additional 7 euros you could purchase breakfast at the hotel. It looked excellent (with a large selection) but we preferred to purhase a pastry and coffee from one of the bakeries in the area and sit outside and people watch. We also found Sophie (the front desk person) extremely helpful in providing us with excellent maps, suggesting and making dinner reservations for us and even helping us call to the local Avis car rental when we had misplaced our video camera. (Which we got back!) She was always willing to provide us with information and spoke excellent English. We enjoyed our stay and thought it was excellent value for the money spent.

This was a very comfortable hotel in the centre of Avignon and yet very quiet. We had a wonderful view over the main square. We were very pleased that it was non smoking and would definitely stay there again.

The hotel is well located for a trip to Avignon being very central and close to Palais de Papes. The staff were welcoming and helpful. Breakfast is fine for price but breakfast area cramped. Major drawback was the size of the rooms we stayed in - 2 different rooms on two different nights. Had we been of a larger build than we are [ small] we would have struggled to gain access to the shower in our second room.

The hotel is well positioned and in the middle of every thing, if you have satnav it will direct you to the top entrance for parking which is closed, go into the palais des papes parking along the wall by the river and go to level P1, follow signs out to the place de l'horloge, the exit is behind the pay machine, turn left and you will find the hotel on the left of the square,

The hotel was excellent value for money and was situated in a central location, ideal for exploring Avignon and the surrounding area. The car parking at the Papal Palce was Ist class and the reduction offered to those staying at this hotel made the cost of parking excellent value for money.

We were on a 13 day France vacation (Paris, Avignon, Côte d'Azur, back to Paris. Avignon was in the middle of our trip. We lucked out in a sense (if you like the night life) because our first night in Avigon coincided with the Festival de la musique in France. Our hotel was located basically in "party central" (but still very quiet in the room). Overall, both Avignon and this hotel were well above what we expected! We thought that Paris would be the highlight of our vacation but the south of France (including Avignon) was the actual highlight. The only drawback with the hotel was the 'public space' within it. But really, when in France, you don't really need that as the vibrant and bustlin 'public space' is all around you. I would definitely recommend this hotel for many reasons but mostly for the centrality of its location.

Because of drama festival in summer, I feel the rate is a bit expensive. But I could stay in front of the most convenient and cheerful plaza of Avignon without a noise. Both the room and its bathroom was clean, spacious, and kept in good condition. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was very good for the price offered. Quality was very satisfying for the price we paid. Definitely will consider staying there again if i have a chance to revisit Avignon. The hotel was located in the center of the town. Anyway, it was not really near the train station/ main bus stop: should be around 10-15 minutes walk.

The location is a bit far (15 minutes) from the bus/train station but it is at the center of town. The place is nice and good soundproofing and has all the basic needs of a decent room. Unfortunately, the staff forgot to give us a morning call. We almost missed the train ride to Lyon!!!

The Kyriad is on the main square, less than 2 blocks from the papal palace, so it's hard to imagine a better location. We had a little trouble accessing the hotel in our car, but once we understood where to park -- in an underground garage beneath the papal palace -- it was very convenient. Our room looked out on the square, the town hall and a wonderful carousel. It was very charming.

We enjoyed a lovely 3 days in Avignon and we will certainly use the Kyriad again when returning.The breakfast in particular was excellent.We had a room overlooking the square and if the windows were open it could be a little noisy.However the double glazed windows were adequate to keep out the sounds of the street.But if you like to sleep with the windows open this may be a drawback.

This hotel is wonderful if you ask for the smoking rooms looking out over the plaza. The view is wonderful. The non-smoking rooms are looking in toward the ugly interior courtyard. For the price the hotel is a steal considering the location (70 euros excluding parking and breakfast). The breakfast includes boiled eggs and yogurt, so it’s fine. Parking is a pain, but that is true for almost any other hotel in the square. The city is fantastic, better than Arles and Aix en Provence. Don’t miss it.

Kyriad Avignon stands very good position faced the center square.Our couple room was a double bed room.It was spacious and clean and had 2 windows faced the square.The bathroom was also spacious and new.The staffs were brand.I will recommend this double bed room who visit Avignon :) Thank you.

The Kyriad Hotel in Avignon is a very good value for the money. The rooms are reasonably spacious by European standards. The bathroom was clean and modern, and the minibar was a nice addition. The location was one of the best attributes of the hotel: it is right on the Place de l'Horloge (but it is very quiet with double glazed windows) and is only one building away from the Palais des Papes.

Although finding the Hotel Kyriad and then finding a place to stop the car for the short time we needed to offload luggage was a bit frustrating, we were delighted with every aspect of our short stay there. Our room, overlooking the street cafes was amazingly quiet. It was great fun opening the window and enjoying the sights and the cacaphony of sound knowing that when when it was closed--silence!! The staff was helpful, cheerful and efficient. I would definitely stay at Hotel Kyriad again.

Very cute, clean hotel overlooking the main square of Avignon which was very active and convenient. The girl who checked us in and the girl who served breakfast were very nice and friendly. The only negative in our stay was the b----y Manager with her overbearing, icy domineering air which seemed totally uncalled for. We also heard her yelling at the two girls above which we found very unprofessional. Her presence made all the patrons uncomfortable.

This is a hotel chain. The rooms were air conditioned, which is nice for the hot southern summers. The hotel disregarded that i had contracted at a certain price on the internet and charged what they decided was appropriate. That is disgraceful. The staff was very pleasant and spoke English. Given it's location, the hotel is a great offer for the price. The rooms, however, do vary in size and feel. We were lucky to get a room originally reserved for the disabled - so it was quite spacious. Even though the location promised to be noisy, the room was quite quiet and peaceful. Breakfast, which was not included, is a simple affair. You would be better off eating off premises - many restaurants nearby.
